Helping a Korean Customer at Work

So I met a Korean woman at work. She was looking for a pair of socks, I guess for one of her kids but she didn't know how to convert the shoe size because she only knew the Korean metric system so I asked her "Are you from Korea?" She of course replied yes so I said "Annyeonghasaeyo!" Her immediate response was, " How do you know annyeonghasaeyo?" Kekeke I told her from watching Korean dramas and she thanked me in Korean for being able to help her find what she was looking for. I also told her "it's nice to meet you" in Korean 😁 It's rare to find Korean people where I live, usually there are lot's of Chinese natives, or Cambodian, and Vietnamese

I was in a bus in Paris to go to a friend's place and two people sat next to me. They had a map written in hangul and I got caught staring at it. I smiled to them and said "annyong haseyo" and they exclaimed "OMO ! How do you speak Korean ?" Their reaction was very funny and we talked until I get off.
