VIXX CONCERT 141122 CHICAGO

VIXX. CONCERT

You want a full account? I’ll give you a full account.

Prepare you .

So we got there like 3 hours early and it was a surprisingly nice day, at least compared to how it had been before. We pulled into the parking lot and while sitting there, we saw. A BLACK VAN. PULL INTO VIP PARKING. We just had this moment.

…is that vixx?

It could be vixx.

It’s probably not vixx.

But what if it was.

o-o

And then after that, a black stretch limo pulled in and we were like… wait that could have been anyone. xD

…but honestly, kpop guys usually travel in vans right?? A big black van with tinted windows??! IT COULD HAVE BEEN THEM.

So, mini fangirl attack aside, we get out and run over to the entrance area because we thought we saw people being let in and we were like whattt no way!!! And we figured we should get in quick because we wanted to actually get some of the merchandise. Anyway, we were wrong so we went back and got our coats, waited outside for a long time, etc, etc, met some awesome people, said hi to some cameras, watched a cool flash-mob style VIXX cover dance, then FINALLY got inside. As soon as our tickets were scanned, we headed to merch, then found our seats.

NOW BEGINS THE NERVOUS COUNTDOWN.

Well first off, let’s talk about the place. The venue, in my opinion, seemed kinda lame. It’s pretty small, and I feel like VIXX deserves more than that: they’re used to such big, fancy stages, and this is literally a mini, wooden stage with no branches or levels or anything. The place was kind of small, too, and I felt like… come on, couldn’t we do better than this? …but then again, a great deal of the second floor was left empty, and… I dunno, maybe there simply aren’t enough K-pop (specifically, VIXX) fans near Chicago for that kind of commitment yet. On the bright side: small venue=CAN SEE OPPAR. Hahaha but seriously though!! We were in the front of the second row on the second floor, and we could clearly see the members and identify them without looking at the cameras, and we could clearly see the whole dance. That was pretty awesome.

Okay, so the setting was like this: as I sat down in the cushy, red velvet theater chair, I see that the stage is displaying the VIXX Error logo on the middle screen, and the two side screens were gray with “VIXX” scrolling across them in white. There are songs from Vixx’s albums playing quietly by the stage, and everyone was equal parts calmed and amped up.

So when the lights turned down? SCREAMS. The theater goes dark, everyone stands up, and the TV starts playing—STEEL HEART. At first, I was flipping a basket, like OMG OMG WHERE ARE THEY, I ING LOVE THIS DANCE; but, to my disappointment, this was only the intro soundtrack to the introductory VCR they were playing.

BUT AS SOON AS IT ENDED?!

VIXX.

ING.

V. I. X. X.

WALKS OUT ON STAGE

AND GETS ALL IN FORMATION FOR ERROR.

I just have this moment where I’m like…. Oh my ing gawddd they’re real. Vixx. ARE REAL PEOPLE, EVERYONE. AND THEY’RE HERE. I’M ACTUALLY SEEING THEM WITH MY EYES, HOLY F***CCCKKKKK.

Error starts, the spotlights come on, and the screams are DEAFENING. Like. Whoa. I was worried that I would be too enthusiastic and no one else would be screaming as hard as I would (and mind you, I was actually really sick so I couldn’t really scream too hard in the first place, but alas), but yeah no. SCREAMING. I heard real, honest to goodness, fangirl. DEATH. Tonight, ladies and gentlemen.

So Error was beautiful. The crowd sang along with all of the energy in the world, although, it was kind of hard because we were so busy SCREAMING. Every time a new member would come up, we would just scream and scream and cheer and scream omg. The dance was perfect, the singing was spot-on, and everything went very smoothly.

Unfortunately, since this IS America, not many people knew the fanchants, actually for the whole show, so the crowd mostly just screamed incoherently and sang along. I admire Korean audiences for their effort, really, I do. I specifically learned some of the fanchants just for today and realized when I got there that it was mostly for naught. I think we need an official fanclub site or something like they have in Korea so we can coordinate things. It would be cool.

Okay so next was Voodoo Doll and was it fantastic. Again, the crowd’s screams were deafening, and we all sang along to the parts we knew. All I remember about this one that was significant was that Hongbin messed up at one point when he was holding the skull-stick, and it was fantastic, what he did. He like was holding it completely the wrong way or something, and he just smiled his perfect Hongbin smile and ducked his head, kinda facepalming like “oops” x333 I swear I almost died. And he’s not even my bias xD but that power to kill fangirls with just a smile is real, I tell you.

So when they finished Voodoo Doll—OH! I forgot something. Their outfits (LOLOL). I have noooo idea what they were wearing, lmao. It was like…. Suits that had these really bad, weird, matching orangey patterns on them and I was like… I would care if I wasn’t too busy SCREAMING.

Ahem, so anyway. When the finished Voodoo Doll, the spotlights came on and everyone just about died—YUP. WE WERE GETTIN’ A TALK.

Of course, leader N started out. Something like “How is everyone enjoying themselves?!” and just the audience like SCREEEAAAMMMM.

They proceeded to introduce themselves in Engrish and it was so beautiful!!! I didn’t catch what Leo said, because everyone was too busy dying to realize they had started introducing themselves, and Leo went first. Also, the camera wasn’t even on so I didn’t know he was talking at first. In fact, the camera work was not very good in general. I mean, I’ve seen fancams from sooo many other venues, and I mean, maybe I should go easy on these guys since this is not usually the kind of concert they have in this venue, but like… Ravi would be talking and then the big screen camera would go to Ken’s blank face and then like slowly inch over to Ravi. Or there were cases where it wasn’t on at all, then would like turn on to whoever was talking, but their face wouldn’t even be in the shot xD Idk, it was all over the place. But at least they tried.

OKAY back to intros xD so Leo got talked over, Hyuk was “Hello, I’m youngest Hyuk” (with the cutest accent ever omfg), N was “Hi I am Leader N” (also with an accent, I’m sure you’ve seen N speak English before. Also, this was met with SCREAMs. I guess there were a lot of N fans xD), Hongbin was “Hello, I’m Hongbin.” (And DAYUM was his pronunciation perfect!!!!!! I had to like triple take! I was like…. Wait. That was HONGBIN????! He sounds like an American!!! Whoa!!), Ken, of course, was “Hi, I’m kyute! Mein vokarrreu Ken!! (Cute main vocal ken)” lmao ken xD I knew he would say it, but hearing it in real life was honestly like a dream. Then last but not least, Ravi went and he said something all gung-ho, like “I am the rapper Ravi! WASSUP CHICAGOOOO! YEAH!” and naturally everyone screamed again. The screaming is gonna get old, fast, just you wait.

~~I think this is when I should mention that there was a translator, who was really doing a good job of getting every k-pop fan in Chicago to hate her. I mean, I personally kind of want to be an interpreter, and I know the job is incrEDibly hard.  I mean, I take classes on this stuff. Try to imagine memorizing everything someone said, then repeating it back fluently in another language, rapid-fire. Also, sometimes it’s hard to hear because SCREAMS or it’s hard to remember because someone talks too fast or too much. Also, English was not her first language, so that’s already way harder for her than translating English to Korean. Anyway, I’m getting sidetracked. My point here is that I personally wasn’t mad at her or adverse to her in any way, but I could clearly see, from an objective standpoint, why other people would be.

Not only did she mess up the things they said and leave stuff out (you could see that Hongbin and N were giving her strange looks sometimes like “what did you say? Are you sure?” Even though that could be coincidence, idk, I noticed it.), she also did some no-nos. Treating the audience like kids. Disregarding the desires of the audience for her own. Focusing too much attention on herself. I’ll get into this more when I get to the second talk. Take note though, the translator was… meh. I still respect her and understand the difficulties she goes through for her job, but I think she could have definitely done better. ~~

AAnnnyywho.  Back to Talk break #1. They introduced themselves and then they said some stuff about how they were sorry they were late, and they asked if we were mad and we were like “lol you think we could ever be mad at you guys???” Then they also said they were a little worried at first but now they were reassured because our cheers were so loud and it gave them energy. Then they promised to give us a great show and walked away like “this next one’s for you” lol

SO NEXT. WAS LIGHT ME UP. (Eodum sokeul barkhyeojwo). And ohhhh my sweet Jesus it was beautiful. The singing, again, was spot on, and the dance was beautiful, and Ravi’s rap had me screaming again, bUT. The significant point here? We started to notice something.

LEO.

HE WAS SO INTO IT OMFG. HE WAS DANCING WITH HIS HEART AND SOUL. The other members were like *aaand smooth shoulder-roll to the riiiigghhtt~ smooth shoulder-roll to the lefftt~* and then there was Leo who was like. “UNF. I LOVE THIS SONG. YOU WANT SHOULDER ROLL?? I GIVE YOU /BODY/ ROLL! BAM!!! THIS IS LEO, ES!!! Oh what’s that, my high note coming up? Oh, okay NAILED IT!!! UNNNFFFF!!!!! WHAT!!!”  Like I just can’t, he was so pumped and it was just xDD he was so into every single performance. Leo is like… born performer. We all know how he is on shows, but on stage??? WHOA! Watch out!!!

Also, why does everyone say “lee-oh”? I mean, you guys have watched the shows, you know how it’s pronounced. Leo. Like… “lay-oh”. He’s not an astrological sign, guys xD he’s a Korean guy. Lay-Oh. I dunno. That just bothers me a bit, because I’m pretty detailed about things like that xD

Okay I think my order’s a little shaky, because I only started writing down what songs they played after the whole first half of the concert so I’m probably wrong with song order. I actually forgot about Secret Night, which is the only one I snuck a quick fancam of. I guess I’ll put Secret Night here then, because they performed it with the same outfits as Light Me Up.

So Secret Night xD So like the song comes on, and Ravi does the coughing thing xDD He was like dramatically convulsing omfg if anyone didn’t know that song I’m sure they were concerned xDD WHY RAVI WHY xDD I will never understand why that song opens with Ravi coughing, but hey it gave me a chance to clear my throat, so whatever I guess? They jumped out and started the dance and I distinctly remember saying “I’ve never seen this dance!” so even though I can’t describe it now, I’m sure it was beautiful xD Leo’s high notes were beautiful too. And everyone shouted the “SHOCKERRR” part with Ravi and it was so awesome!!!

After Secret Night, they performed Hyde. OH MY GOD. Seeing Hyde in real life has got to be one of the best things that’s happened to me since… I dunno, since I discovered K-pop? THE DANCE WAS SO BEAUTIFUL. IT WAS SO SPOT-ON. NOT A STEP OUT OF PLACE. I mean, by now, the singing was starting to get off a little, but hey. They hadn’t had a proper break yet and singing and dancing intensely simultaneously is HARD. But yeah, no, it was beautiful. The part where N grabs Ravi from behind (or wait, is it vice-versa? You know what part I mean xD) elicited some death-screeches from all the Navi shippers and general fans of fanservice alike. And the audience was really into this one, too, I could hear us singing and I was like <8’D you guysssss~~!!! <3

Then, after the last “just can’t control” and the ripping off the faces and wearing them as masks, (…I’m talking about the dance move everyone, it’s okay xD), the lights went out and they ran off stage. In the meantime, a touching VCR played on the TV, I don’t really remember it at all, it had like touching quotes and things, then said “LOVE” but then suddenly the positive and negative space switched and it said “HATE” and we were like ooooohhhhhh. Idk. Then I think? After that they played the Error music video. They played that at one point, I just don’t remember when.

NEXT. They come out all changed—and by changed I mean they literally just took off their suit-jackets? They were still wearing the terrible pants xD and they also had these black kinda fedora-like hats xD

Anyway, they had pulled out chairs and VIXX all sat down and sang Daedabeun Neo Nikka (Only U) and it was, of course, spot-on. The singing was beautiful, and they were even harmonizing… they all stood up and walked forward on their lines near the end, ending with Ravi for his rap (Dalkhomhan Mellodi~~) and then finished with beautiful chorus *applause* well done, VIXX. I approved. You could tell by the screams xD

Then they sang another song, which, forgive me, I actually don’t know the name of. I’m fairly sure it’s one of the slower songs from the Voodoo CD. It was really pretty though, and everyone loved it.

NEXT. Was the Q&A Talk. Ohh wow. This was both super amazingly awesome and a huge disappointment. This is where my previous statements about that interpreter come in. So she drags out a board full of post-it notes with fan questions and is like “Hi I’m your host” but… she wasn’t the host. She was the translator. I mean, maybe if she hosted other things it’d be okay, but. And also, she didn’t explain anything she said to the VIXX members, and they looked so lost at first. Then when she goes to pick a question she takes forever, and Vixx literally tells her “STOP.” Ravi says “Please stop.” While N repeats “Jamkamhan, Jamkamhan.” And then they’re like, WE’LL pick the questions. So she steps down, and Hyuk steps up.

~~That was her first error. Actually, her second: her first was when she was like “Annyeonghasseyo!” And we all replied “Annyeonghasseyo!” and she’s like *puts on kindergarten teacher voice* “Do you know what annyeonghasseyo means?” and I mean. Lady. Come on. Isn’t “Hi” the first thing you learn in another language? If at least 95% of the audience was some mode of a K-pop fan, they’ve been listening to Korean music and watching Korean shows for a while, I should hope they know what “Annyeonghasseyo” means by now. I’m willing to bet at LEAST 85% of the people in that audience knew what it meant. Anywho, her second error was taking up too much time for herself. Who elected her the host of this concert? Why was she doing all the talking and not giving Vixx a chance to respond? The fans came for vixx, not for random Korean lady speaking English.  I think Vixx could sense the disappointment, which is why they butted in like no, we’ll pick the cards.~~

Okay, so continuing. Hyuk walked up to the board and started singing his Hyuk song (more screams for le audience), and he finally picks out a post it note. He reads it off in the cutest Engrish I have heard to this date: “Hai! Pweez uwinkeu at mii. Ai Love Yuu” (Hi, please wink at me. I love you!) then he laughed and sat back down, and they pinpointed the girl who had written it. He was like pointing like “You?? Realrwy? Laff Me??” and then the interpreter counted down and he winked at her xD then the interpreter was like “you have to wink back!” lol xD

Next up was Rrrrraveh. They were like “who’s next?” and the crowd was just like “RA~VI! RA~VI! RAAAVI!! RAAAVI!” so he had no choice. He spent so long trying to pick a question, and in the meantime the interpreter mentioned that a lot of the questions were in Korean and she was very impressed. He picks out one that’s “What’s your favorite American food?” and oh my god his answer just killed every Ravi fan in that audience. He was like “umm… … …. . . . . ….   . hmm . . ….. .. ……  . . .. … .. . … STEAK” xDDD

Then he hands it to Ken and Ken’s like “Me? Favor-it foodeu?” and then he’s just like. “PIJJA!!” xDD omfg that was great.

Then the interpreter lady is like “okay we’re out of time” (like literally a staff guy from the back had to run up on stage during the Q&A and tell her) so they just stopped there, which was really sad: everyone had wanted to hear their bias, you know? I wanted to hear Leo talk xD

THEN. Is when the thing happened. They had taken the Q&A board off-stage and were still discussing American food, interpreter/self-proclaimed hostess up and decides she gets one more question, even though she just said they were out of time and they had to wrap it up. She says it’s her own personal request and that she wants VIXX to hug her, one by one. She talks about how she’ll be hugging VIXX on behalf of all the starlights. Here, she didn’t even explain what she had said to the members and they were like wut. So she realized and said it in Korean to them, and I dunno how exactly they took it… I heard from another report that N looked kind of mad here. I didn’t notice but. Whatever. Anyway, she realizes she won’t have time and quickly reduces it to one member. She was standing closest to Hyuk at the moment, so she just says “I’ll have it be… this member…!” and like pats him on the shoulder. She laughs guiltily and asks the audience “Will you kill me if I hug them? Haha” and, I’munna be honest here, I think I heard a “yes” from the crowd. Also behind me someone was like “don’t you dare touch them” so, I mean, maybe that wasn’t the best course of action for her. She quickly, awkwardly hugs Hyuk, after he specifically said “I’m doing this on behalf of the starlights” (So like, think of this as a hug to all of you).

~~At this point I honestly was wondering if she knew who the band was. I never heard her say their names once, and she pats Hyuk’s shoulder like… “this… member…?” omf. Really honey. At least learn the band you’re interpreting for. In her defense, though, she could have known and been trying to say something else and forgot how to in English. There are numerous possibilities. Then I was like, this is where you up. When you get yourself to be hugged by VIXX, of course the fans will be mad. I thought she was going to invite some girls from the front row up, but nope. She’s like “Here everyone, watch your oppas hug me”. It just wasn’t well thought out. I kind of wonder if that was unscripted and she just did it cuz she wanted to and got in trouble later…~~

Then, get this xD after she walks off the stage all flustered from her hug, N starts talking again and I mean, I’m glad because he was talking in Korean and it sounds like the N I know and hear all the time, but. The interpreter apparently had her all in a bunch because she wasn’t interpreting. N just like said something. “Yeoreobun, jigeumeun…” and then just stopped and looked behind him like “uhhh. Lady. Interpret.” And she still wasn’t there xD and then N said something again and just sat there looking around like huh. There’s no more interpreter. xDD it was really funny. Then I swear they looked over at like Ravi and Hongbin for assistance like uhh can you English this? xD Then N just like shrugged and asked a question in Korean and the whole crowd just responds with “Ne~~!” and I’m pretty sure only half or less actually knew what he had asked but xD oh well. It was like “*Korean Korean Korean*?” “Yeah sure, whatever you say N. I’m sure we’d agree anyway.” xD and then FINALLY, interpreter lady got her together and interpreted. I forgot what he had actually said. It was something pretty normal like “Are you gonna have fun” or “look forward to the rest of tonight’s performance?” xD then he said “this next song is for you.” *audience screams*

So after that disaster, still sitting in the chairs, they sang Cheongchuni Apa (Youth Hurts) from the Error Single. It was so pretty omfg… the singing was perfect, and you could really hear them singing this time. They were being so cute with this one… I was like omfg. The light show was super pretty, too.

After that, they got rid of the chairs and came back out on stage all pumped for~?

B! O! D! Y~!!  haha B.O.D.Y was a great performance. They were jumping around on stage and the crowd loved it too—everyone sang along with the chorus! They had the screen behind them showing the letters B.O.D.Y whenever that part came up, so in case anyone didn’t already know the chorus it was okay xD We were joking that they should let down the disco ball for this performance because it’s just that 70’s-tastic xD I had never seen the dance for this song before, either… but now I’m having trouble recalling if there was a dance, or if it was just them jumping around. Maann I need fancams. I wish I could have taken more, but people next to me were getting yelled at left and right every few minutes for recording. It was pretty intense. Anyway, I think there was some semblance of a dance.

NEXT. Was DaeDaNaDaNeo (G.R.8.U) and OMFG It was so great!!! The fans were so happy when this song came on, me because I love the dance and I knew the fanchant. Actually, I think there were quite a few people who knew the fanchant to this one, which had me pleasantly surprised. I think it’s because that VixxTV they had that they did the fanchant for this one. I think a lot of international starlights watch VixxTV, because THANK THE LORD, it has subs!! Anyway, so when they performed this, it was such an energetic performance. I was a little disappointed at first because I thought they weren’t going to do the dance. They were pretty much just jumping around and singing (perfectly) and like going to the edges of the stage and fanservicing. Speaking of which, Leo was like WHOA Fanservice. He was like constantly near the edges of the stage and high-fiving the fans and letting them sing into his mic and such. My god how happy I would have been xD Oh! And on the way back to center stage once he tripped over a monitor xD it was adorable.

Later, on Ravi’s rap, the fans were screaming their heads off and singing along to all the “Wow!!” and “Uwahh~!” parts xD I swear I distinctly heard everyone shout “MY NAME IS RUCKY BOY!” hahaha THEN!! They all sang the fanchant on Leo’s high note (which was perfect, of course)! I was like omfg good job guys!! To the fans and to vixx!! Then for the last verse of the song, they all got in formation and did the dance and omfggggg it was beautiful. I almost couldn’t believe it, seeing that dance in real life. It’s just so ridiculously fabulous and it reeks of N’s choreography and I LOVE IT.

Next up, Beautiful Killer. This one was another that I had never seen the dance for, and I was like dayyummm it was so good *_* I remember this one because the singing was especially good, and because at the end of the rap he sounds like he says “You know what I’m talkin about, Maddi.” xD IT REALLY SOUNDED LIKE IT LIVE, TOO OMFG RAVI WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO TELL ME. Long story short, Beautiful Killer was beautiful.

Next was Chaos!! Everyone cheered right when the track started playing—maybe more people know it since it’s from the Hyde album. All that stuck out to me about this performance was that the dance was really funny xDD they did this leg thing that was like weird leg wobbly knee thing for the part that was like “Dangelous~ Dangelous~ Dangelous~” Unless I’m remembering incorrectly and they did the wobble-knees dance for  some other song. But for some reason I think it was this one. I especially like Ravi’s rap in Chaos, I wish I had learned this one xD The whole audience was singing along for “Dangelous Dangelous Dangelous” though. Maybe we made it sound more like “Dangerous” xD All in all, Chaos was anything but chaotic. Well done, guys. I remember the dance being good for this one too. It was all so good omg I don’t have anything different to say anymore. It’s just all fantastic okay? xD

THEN. After Chaos. They all got into position with the lights off, and before the track even started playing, I shouted “Eternity!!” because I could recognize the beginning of the dance. This one was apparently a huge fan-favorite: from the moment the track came on, a deafening roar engulfed the venue, and I mean that in the least poetic way. We pretty much all just screamed our heads off, cept my brother cuz she doesn’t like Eternity xD Anyway, I was looking forward to this one. Leo was as into it as ever, and it was a really smooth performance. Only thing I noticed about this is that Ken’s entrance where they swish him up in the beginning wasn’t as smooth as usual. I saw his foot drop back like he would have fallen if he didn’t do that xD oh well, the rest of it was so good I didn’t even care. And the audience certainly didn’t care either—Everyone sang along with “Nal saranghaji~?” and the chorus. Then when it got to the part with the “oooohhhhhh~~~oh~~oh~oh~oh~” and the body rolls, WE LITERALLY ALL DIED OMFG OR AT LEAST MY EARS DID. THE SCREAMS. It was like *body roll* SCREAMS. Like omg xD Everyone was just waiting for that, I know. Also, the part in the dance where N grabs the back of Hongbin’s neck, it was beautiful, I’m pretty sure everyone else screamed as loudly as I did for that part, too xD I was WAITING for it. Like. “it’s coming it’s coming it’s coming—YESSS AHHHHHHHH OH MY GODDDDDD!!!!1!111!!!!1111!!!!!11!111!11” xDDD it was intense. And when the song ended, everyone screamed super loud too, cuz. Well cuz everyone touches Ken xD I’m pretty sure we all just went “Yes, TOUCH Ken.” xD or was that just me? And the end is so pretty, too, but I did notice that the microphones started going out. Earlier in this song, too, I think Leo’s mic and Ken’s started acting up. By the end, Ken’s was pretty quiet and I couldn’t really hear the last pretty line. Oh well, they fixed it later.

Hey did I mention their outfits? Somewhere along the line, they changed their outfits again, but ACTUALLY changed this time. That was when they played the full MV for Error as a VCR, I think. Oh wait!! No, there was another VCR that was so cute and random. It was like a song and a lot of colorful pictures of like each of the members, kind of comic-book like. Their outfits for at least the last three songs I’ve talked about (I think they changed before Beautiful Killer) were SO GOOD OMFG. They were wearing all white: White suit jackets that varied slightly from member to member, bedazzled with silver metal stars and spikes, some white undershirts and white ties, Ravi’s was a turtleneck (eh xD), and the PANTS were. Soooo nice. Those pants were just. They fit very well. Those white pants fit Vixx very nicely. Yeaahhh.

So anyway, after all the members had significantly felt up Ken and dragged him down after Eternity, they all got up and spread out, and the spotlights . Fans screamed again—time for another quick talk!! N was being a cute little diva, wiping his face with his towel, and pretending to throw it to the crowd, but instead of letting it go, he just whipped it back up and wiped his again!!! He did that like three times xD omg N really, you tease. He never threw the towel.

They all kinda gave last sentiments and talked around a bit, BEAN NEEDS TO STOP SMILING SO MUCH AHHHH IT WAS PRECIOUS!!! They gave the usual sentiments, leader N being all professional-like with his “We’ve had a great time and we hope you enjoyed yourselves” and such and then they were like “Unfortunately this next one will be our last performance tonight…” and the whole audience was like “AWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!! DDD:>” and it was just. Such sad. Then Ken, bless him, just shouts “JJINJJAH?!?!?!” at N like whhaaaatttt??!?! THIS IS OUR LAST PERFORMANCE?!?! And I’m pretty sure he killed Hongbin. And Hyuk. And just everyone. Good timing, Ken xD

Then Ravi was like “Ahh, Chicago! Chicago eez so HAWT!!” And when he said that, Hongbin started pretending to take off his jacket xD Nono, hongbin, keep going xD

After that Hyuk was like “Well. This may or may NOT be our last performance, depending on your reaction *HINT HINT*” and crowd goes wild~~~

Then the lights dim again and they all get in position for their last song, Dachil Junbiga Dwae Isseo!! (On and On) OH MY GOD THE SCREAMS. I guess this is everyone’s other favorite song?? We literally all sang every word of the chorus. It was beautiful. Everybody loved this one so much omfg it was their last performance but I was just screaming so hard. Leo’s part was like YESS and then Ken and N and everyone just YESSS. Then on Ravi’s rap, I shouted out the whole thing like yeahhhh xD Ravehhhh xDD Let’s just say EVeryONE needed Therapy, lalalalala terapy. xD We all sang along to that part, too! I saw everyone getting up and dancing to the therapy part, same as they did with the body rolls in eternity xD The only thing I noticed about this performance was that they didn’t lift Leo up during the dance. But oh well xD Maybe Leo didn’t feel like being lifted up. He was still so into the performance, so xD (Seriously how did he stay so amped that whole time. He’s like a kindergartener, soo much energy xD) The rest of the song was beautiful. I’ve always loved that dance. It was just like. No. Don’t make this your last performance. We will die if you don’t come back out on stage in the next five minutes xD

Sure enough, they exited the stage after that song, bowing and waving, and the screen just went back to the intro thing, the Error cover with scrolling VIXX.

So the audience  put on full scream and chant mode. We were like screaming our heads off at first, then realized that got us nowhere, so we were like uhh what do we do. Chant, let’s chant.

VIXX VIXX VIXX VIXX VIXX VIXX VIXX VIXX VIXX VIXX VIXX VIXX VIXX VIXX VIXX VIXX VIXX VIXX VIXX VIXX

Then when that got us nowhere it died down and we cheered and screamed some more. We weren’t really sure how fast to chant or what to chant… We started up another VIXX VIXX VIXX VIXX, but that didn’t work either. Scream more!! MOAR SCREAMING!! COME ON VIXX PLZ PLZ WE LOVE YOU COME BAEEKKKKKKK. We started up another chant.

V I X X V I X X V I X X V I X X V I X X V I X X V I X X V I X X V I X X V I X X V I X X V I X X V I X X V I X X V I X X

Finally: the TV turns off. *SCREAMS* could it be? We’ve gotten them back?? But wait—the TV screen turns back on. It reads “Make Some Noise!” Or “Noise Meter” Or something with a little 8-bit meter under it. By this point, I could hardly scream anymore, I felt like I was going to pass out. Sick, remember. Either way, I had to scream anyway so I screamed until it hurt xD Finally, the meter fills up, then it goes to a Mario-like 8-bit screen that says “CONTINUE?” and under it, two buttons: YES or NO. Everyone screams “YESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!” with like all of the enthusiasm in the world. I can’t even express the pure rabid fangirl excitement that happened right there. Then the cursor on the screen clicks the YES button and makes the sound from Rock Ur Body. The stage lights go on, and out comes VIXX for their encore. YEAH!!!!!! ENCORE!!!!!!!

Rock ur Body starts playing and pretty much everyone dies screaming again. I think the excitement when VIXX re-entered the stage was almost as high as when they first entered the stage. Their performance of Rock Ur Body was spectacular, as was the audience participation. We, of course, all sang the Engrish chorus. I swear, as soon as it came up, everyone was shouting it at the top of their lungs: DANCE TO THE REFT TO THE RIGHT! YOU MAKE ME FEER ARIBE, RIBE, WANDAFUR TONAITE, NAITE xD it was beautiful. We were so into this performance, almost as much as we were into Error or On and On. They had switched shirts, btw. They were in these bedazzled white sweaters now.

After Rock Ur Body, they switched to their song that’s like the official final song of a kpop concert. I’m pretty sure it’s called “Thanks for Being Born” and this one was just fanservice central! First of all, Leo’s mic had broken or something because he kept going to other members for his parts and stealing their microphones to sing xD I swear, I had no idea this kid was such a fanservice nut xD He stole Ken’s, then when he stole hongbin’s, Hongbin just like posed in the respectful way when you bow and present someone with something xDDD he was like “yes, almighty Leo, you may partake from my microphone xD” then he walked to the other side of the stage and stole N’s xD by this time, there was literally a manager or PD or some guy that quickly ran out and handed Leo a mic xDD I dunno, I was enjoying it, but whatever. Then, during this performance, N brought out a big camera, and recorded the audience a bit. I hope to death this gets put into VIXX TV!!!! They were all going around and High-Fiving the front row and like. I swear I will sell my soul for front row and VIP tickets next time. Don’t even get me started on the prospect of hi-touch o_o O-O I will die. They were so into this whole concert though. I almost cried when they came out on stage, but I almost cried when they walked off stage, too xD

When they walked off-stage, too, that was pretty great xD they were all like bowing and waving like “Thank you!!” and Ken was last off—he kept blowing kisses until he was literally ushered off stage by some staff guys wearing black xD

Well, after that, the lights turned back on and I collapsed in my seat. This had to be one of the best experiences ever. I will remember this concert for soooo long. …and I probably actually will, because I wrote this. xD

After the show, I remember leaving and then running back when we heard a male voice in the stage area, and then realizing it was just the announcement for where the hi-touch raffle winners should go. OH MY GOD THO. I recommend reading some of the accounts from people who went to hi-touch. It would be wayyyy shorter than this (6,294 words so far oops) and they mention some awesome stuff xD Pretty much that VIXX is actually super tall, wayyy prettier in person, super nice, with super soft hands, and so on. Apparently the staff members were mean, though, and made it so some people had to skip some of the vixx members. Come on, I’m sure they weren’t in THAT much of a hurry. Anyway, I heard there was a little girl at the hi-touch, and Leo smiled and ruffled her hair and I’m just like T_T LEOOOOO. I’m surprised he didn’t kidnap her xD Also some girl said she forgot to high-five N and accidentally grabbed his hand with both of hers and then kinda looked him in the eye stuttering “I-I love you…” and he was like looking around (for assistance? xD) and then kinda looked back at her and said “Okay” xD

After the concert, as we headed back to the car, we saw a group of people around the exit by VIP parking… I think they were waiting for VIXX to come out. I wanted to stay and see what happened but brother said no, so. We left. But anyway, Best. Night. Ever. If only I weren’t sick.

Okay so some overall points I wanted to mention. First, I should put a disclaimer that my order of events is probably way off. I know WHAT happened but I don’t remember what ORDER it all happened in, so. Some of this could be flawed xD sorry. If there’s anything you noticed, go ahead and point it out.

Second, about the translating. I complained about the interpreter, even though I don’t personally hate her. I think she could have done better though. However, I’m glad they got an interpreter—That way it’s much easier on vixx, and they could properly express themselves. I also love hearing them speak Korean, it’s so real. Just like watching VixxTV. I also loved their random Engrish, so that’s good too. Everything was good, honestly.

I feel like there was something else, but I probably mentioned it somewhere already. So I’ll wrap it up here. VIXX, excellent work, Thank you so much for coming to Chicago, and I only hope to God you guys will come back here and come to Chicago so I can redeem myself by buying some VIP tickets and meeting you guys face to face. I want to meet them so bad omfg if I did, I’d be so dead, but I would try my hardest to leave a good impression, honestly I would. I want to be a good fan, not a stalker fan xD actually, I feel like I’m a better fan of VIXX than SHINee, because with SHINee I’m like… I will stalk your every move and manipulate everything you say into something that would fit my ship. But I actually don’t really ship VIXX, believe it or not. I respect VIXX as individuals. So even as I fangirl, I would try to at least tone it down and be like Hi you guys are really amazing and I respect what you do. I don’t care how expensive it is, I wanna meet them xD I’ll find a way, eventually.

Well, good luck all and may everyone eventually see their first k-pop concert and enjoy it as much as I did.

Mayo Out.
