SNSD Confessions: Now and Then

So, someone on Tumblr tagged me to do this post where I post my first impressions/confessions and current confessions of Girls' Generation, so I decided to post it here as well! I'm not gonna tag anyone (sorry~) but if you'd like to do it, go right ahead. I tag you with my magical stick~

Also, as you've noticed, I haven't updated in like 100 light years and I really apologize! To be honest, I was going to post something today, but then I learned how many college essays I had to write and did that instead :/ trust me. Posting would've been so much funner (yes, I said funner).

On a little side note, I was going to make a post about the Jessica thing. Once again, I postponed it due to no time (go figure). I felt it was too late, but as a Sone, I feel obligated to do so. I might also wait because Jessica recently made a statement that she'd be back? But I want to know what that's all about...

Well, back to the topic at hand: SNSD CONFESSIONS

1) When I first started listening to KPop, I was an 'anti-Sone' (or what I'd like to call, an 'oblivious kpopper') I was one of those horrible Blackjacks that hated on SNSD because I though 2NE1 had all the raw talent and that SNSD was a cutesy and fake group. For some odd reason, Gee was one of those annoying songs that was stuck in my head to the point that I just fell in love (plus, I was mesmerized by their synchronization). I watched some videos and just fell in love with them!

2) When I first heard SNSD, the only voices that were definately recognizable to me were Hyoyeon, Tiffany, and Jessica. Sometimes it would be Taeyeon and Seohyun, but only if I listen hard enough.

3) I have no SNSD merchandise T.T

4) I'm a huge Blackjack and YGStan, but I just love writing about SNSD. Their personalities seem easy to depict and easy to relate to. Also, I'm a bit intimidated when it comes to YG. I like to write realistically and to be honest, I feel like I don't know YG well enough. I also love Soshibond.

5) I've been a closet Sone for about 3 years. I couldn't even consider myself as someone who casually listens to them. Damn, I denied it for so long. I'm glad I came out last year xD

6) It wasn't until this year 'til I realized you pronounce Sone as 'So-one'. I've been saying 'so-neh' for the longest time. Yup. Hang my head in shame.

7) I didn't like Seohyun. (Just like everyone else in the beginning). When I really like a group, I usually watch them in variety shows (which is how I came to love SNSD). Seohyun was so conservative it annoyed me, but I learned to respect and appreciate it! She's a role model to me~

8) Galaxy Supernova was my first official MV of SNSD when I first declared I was a Sone. I even watched it the hour it came out! That's why it's a song I love dearly[:

9) I actually got into the SooWon fandom, before getting into SNSD. (Yeah. Idk. For some odd reason, I have this SooWon fic from like 2011...)

Current Confessions:

1) I never believed in people changing biases (well, I do believe in people moving up and down a bias list, but that's sorta different in my opinion) because no matter what (okay, unless that person commits murder or something) you should stick with that person through thick and thin. Sure, other members may be doing better, but your bias will always shine in your eyes. You may like some other member at the moment, but your bias will be forever be your favorite. Well, I shocked myself when I contradicted my own law. My first bias was Sooyoung, but lately, I've been loving Taeyeon and YuRi and Hyoyeon~ I try to tell myself that Sooyoung is who I have to stay loyal to, but it's so hard! She holds a special place in my heart though[: I guess she could 'co-bias' with someone else? Haha.

2) I'm really upset and disappointed about the whole Jessica thing. To be honest, she was one of my least favorite members (most of the time, there were aspects where she moved to number two on my list) I still think there's way more to the story. There's so many holes in the story that needs to be clarified. I'll post more about it here.

3) I would go bi for YuRi. Haha. Idk why people are saying she's fat. She needs more attention! Haha. She used to be the iest member in SNSD, but now that title's just out in space.

4) I was an 'oblivious kpopper' also when it came to Yoona. But when I learned about how much hate she was getting, I needed to know why. Stupid fanwars. Like seriously? She hasn't done anything wrong. She treasures her members. Sure, she gets a lot of CFs and Drama roles, but I can tell she really cares about SNSD. She went from number 8 from my list to 4.

5) I get that Girls' Generation doesn't write their own music and some of them aren't strong-powerhouse singers, but don't you dare tell me they're talentless. I've heard each one of them sing acapella on variety and radio shows and their pitch is on point and their annunciation is so clear. Let's not forget that each of them can do a really nice vibrato. I'm a singer and musician and that's really difficult to achieve.
Please don't forget how well each and every one of them are as dancers. I'm a striving dancer (lol, no, I'm not trying to be a KPop start) and I still wait for a day where my dance group could dance as synchronized as them. Sure, you'd like some individuality every once in a while, but 1) this is KPop and 2) synchronization can show strength in a group.
Plus, where the hell can you find, 9 girls who are were so compatible with each other? Sure, things changed after 7 years, but people do need to breathe. I realized that diversified groups really show their uniqueness, but sometimes it could be too much and can clash.

6) Call me delulu, but I'm one of those stubborn SONEs who stills believes in OT9 (IT WILL HAPPEN AFTER 20 YEARS, SNSD REUNION). I don't doubt Soshibond. Sure, the other 8 members may have 'kicked' Jessica out, but the 6 years they were together (and who knows how many years before), I know it was real. Be realistic and know that sisters fight. Sure, one member might have felt left out for a music show taping, a whole promotion or even for a whole tour, but when they go back home, they realize who each other really are and how far they've come.

7) I used to (and sometimes still do) ship everyone in SNSD. Nothing's really my OTP. I just do it for fun and because I love the sisterhood. My biggest ships are Taeny, YulSic, HyoSic, YulTi, HyoHyun and YoonYul.

8) This may sound wrong and weird, but SNSD inspired me to be more feminine and skinnier. Please, I'm not trying to be skinny as a stick, I just wanted to tone my body. I'm proud to say I've dropped to 143 pounds and that boys have started to not be so intimidated when they're around me[:

9) I really don't know why SNSD and 2NE1 are compared so much? Because of popularity? Seriously, the things fandoms fight about are so invalid. I'd compare early SNSD to Apink or Girl's Day. I'd compare modern-SNSD to After School or T-ARA (well that's stretching it a lot). If I compare them as a whole to a group, I'd use Wonder Girls or KARA. I'd compare early 2NE1 with KARA (maybe) and f(x). With their hip hop factor, I'd say they can be an influence to Glam and Exid. With their individual talents, I'd compare them to Sistar.
This may seem weird, but I can compare 4Minute with SNSD and 4Minute with 2NE1, but just not SNSD and 2NE1. They're almost opposite ends in the kpop girl group spectrum.

*) I just want to say, I think SONE is just a really cool fandom. Like seriously. They really show their support. I myself get touched when I see Fanvids because I can see their passion and love for SNSD. I'm not saying Blackjacks are an unsupportive fandom, but when I'm a SONE, I feel a part of something. Sure, there's those SONEs that hates on a member or goes off to Apink and 2NE1 by saying how much better SNSD is, but you really have to see the good in SNSD. They english sub anything and everything Soshi. I'm also a WonderFul and there's some things I can't find anymore. One thing was a Win Win episode, but I found it jest because at that time, Taeyeon was MCing.
It's just wow. Even today. I feel surprised when I find a new thing with 2NE1 or Sistar because I felt that I've already watched everything.
And to those of you who say SNSD wins because of SONEs, damn straight you are right! I swear, even I am jealous that Korean Blackjacks aren't as powerful as Korean SONEs. I agree that 4minute and 2NE1 could totally pummel them in music shows, but SONEs really show their support.

So that's all I had to say. This was about an hour longer than usual, but hey. It was a relaxing break~ I like sharing my story as a Sone. I'm a hardcore Blackjack, but being a Sone is really important to me too! I get two different sides of the spectrum~

How i love your confession..it is true. Im hardcore Sone and Blackjack too. I cant stop from loving thier Soshi Bond, which extremely unique and wonderful. Like you said, it's true, you can say anything about Jess leaving but damn it, i do believe in OT9 too and my faith on them has never changed. For A real Sone, they will always have faith on OT9.
