And I'm just writing down my opinions on Exo/Timeline of 2014 with Shady SM

WARNING THIS IS AN OPINION!!! YOU CAN AGREE OR DISAGREE BUT NO FIGHTING WILL BE ALLOWED ON THIS BLOG POST!

Okay, now we can begin!

So, my very first kpop group was Exo and I fell in love with all twelve of those dorks instantly, and then I developed an uncontrolled bias for Kai and Sehun. After a month of Exo I then found a TON of other groups, and I fell in love with a group called DBSK.

Naturally I'm a newbie at kpop so I looked up more of DBSK and if they were promoting, mvs, etc. and that's when I discovered...The Lawsuit.

It greatly concerned me that the lawsuit itself went on for so long (3-4 years) and it ended up being TVXQ/JYJ split. I was very upset and that's what inspired me to write my first fic, His Beautiful Black Pearl. 

For those of you that haven't read that fic and read this blog post, it's about a mute girl who makes it into the kpop world and it deals with kpop abuse, overworking, lawsuits, and a romantic love interest Kai.

So I began to write that fic and suddenly Kris leaves Exo. I was shocked. I've only known this group for about three months and a member leaves. Was I angry? No. Was I sad? Absolutely. I just wanted to know why he just got up and left. As I read into it I found out about how at times he would leave randomly for his health, which I completely understood. The more I read about the Kris situation the more I got angry at SM Entertainment and the other 11 dorks that somewhat abandoned him. I mean, c'mon...he has heart problems, have some sympathy or something...you're making a crap-ton of money SM...give your idols a break...yeah they just made a comeback but can't they have some sight seeing days or something?

And not even five days later SM reveals that Baekhyun is dating Taeyeon from SNSD and my 'something is fishy' radar went off instantly. So Kris leaves....and then they announce this...do they think we'll just ignore the fact that Kris left because Baekhyun isn't a single pringle? Two words: Heck. No. 

After a few weeks I was okay...until Sulli randomly left f(x) because of depression. I still don't completely understand this situation, but I've heard she's okay now. I was hurt by this as well because I actually like that girl group and I had recently watched the kdrama To The Beautiful You so I was having a lot of feels. 

And then shortly after THAT mess a girl group Red Velvet appears. Now I was getting REALLY interested after that because One: the girl group I made in my story also had four members so I was having massive déjà vu. Two: more bad drama happens...and then they cover it up with...good drama? Then they released the girl group name so I wasn't as concerned about the déjà vu-ness anymore. But I also found that extremely fishy. A member leaves and then they seem to cover it up with a release of a girl group. 

AND ONCE AGAIN SM messes up by putting in pictures of the bombing of Nagasaki and the Twin Towers going down in Red Velvet's Happiness video. SOMETHING IS UP AT THIS POINT. I saw the unedited version and oh my...oh oh my... I'm glad that they took it down and fixed it. 

After that I was also feeling okay...and then suddenly Jessica from SNSD is kicked out. Now, I'm being blunt now and I'm going to hurt some people's feelings for saying this, so just, okay...

I don't like SNSD.

I only like the song 'I Got A Boy.'

There. I've said it. Fill free to send me hate.

Seriously, don't send me hate.

I've given this group a lot of chances but the answer is still no.

My best friend LOOOOOOOVES this group so when I saw on my Facebook that she had been kicked out I was like pffffft hackers. And then as it progressed I was like...oh crap. I alerted said best friend and she FREAKS. Instant research time. From what I understand, some of the girls wanted her to leave because she was putting her own desires over the entire groups. Now I understand that cultural standpoint (thank you psychology class) and I can see how their Collectivist Culture would shame her at the sight of persuing something on the side besides the group itself. But as an American, who has always been under an Individualist Culture, sees the unfairness. 

What really got to me was the fact that Jessica asked multiple occasions on if it was okay for her to do Fashion and SM said yes on all of the accounts. And then when some of the members got mad at her for it, they kick her to the curb. As an individualist, I see this as highly hypocritical. I blame the group and the Entertainment agency for their problem because it really shouldn't be a big deal that she's working on the side in fashion, but then again: Individualist Culture girl here.

AND LACED IN BETWEEN ALL OF THIS MESS

Kris goes and promotes himself in China even though after two of the lawsuit meetings they still can't come to an agreement on what should he do. Personally I was cheering for him. He honestly looks so happy doing whatever the heck he's doing. He used the same lawyer as the past Super Junior member and I really believe that he'll make it through whatever it is that he needs to get through. He left because one: his health. Two: not being paid enough (I'll discuss this more.) and three: prejudice. In this case it was him being thrown under the bus most of the time when a good opportunity came up.

SIDENOTE

I don't understand why Koreans/Chinese/Japanese/etc are all sort of snooty towards each other. C'mon, you're all neighbors, be nice to one another. Respect. It shouldn't matter what country you're from, it should only matter what's on the inside. Then again, I'm still in the Individualist Culture. But I've seen what racism does to people thanks to wonderful America's shady past and present. It's not cool and when it comes down to it, we're all human. We were all created by God.

*insert shock from everyone*

Oh yes, I went there. God created us all. We're all humans living on this tiny planet in the depths of time and space. We're nothing but specks of dust on another speck of dust in the infintie void of space. The least we can do is get along with people. We have a planet to share and take care of. Let us join hands and sing!

OKAY BACK ON TOPIC

MEANWHILE WHILE KRIS DOES HIS THING

The Exo boys, still clearly bitter, tired, and upset, go promote themselves anyway. Some of them get sick and begin to hurt themselves or worked to exhaustion. When I heard about Kai hurting himself I about lost my shiz and was ranting, DON'T YOU SEE SM?!?! YOU'RE HURTING THEM! THEY NEED REST! But then I calmed down when the y My Lady hip s appeared on YouTube (and then I began to feel squimish because I don't do Le y things, but that's not the point.) So I was momentarily distracted by that.

Then Luhan starts getting hurt...a lot.

My best friend (same best friend that likes SNSD) loves that man. Sometimes I get frusterated by how much she talks about him, but then I think that I irritate her too sometimes with my constant back and forth between Kim Jongin and Oh Sehun. Eh, I love her too much to be irritated by it anymore. But I see all of these pictures and reports of Luhan being sick and getting hurt and I'm sitting here on Tumblr (or Facebook) thinking, how can these boys go on like this? I know they're well muscled but sometimes they look too downright skinny to me...there's a difference between skinny and slim-trimmed. Are they eating enough? Or are they put on those absurd diets that aren't really eating diets...

To be honest, they're more like eating disorders.

And then I see pictures of the, sleeping absolutely everywhere and while other fangirls are like 'awwwwe look how cute Oppa is when he's sleeping!!! x*' I'm thinking: Good Lord....that can't be comfortable. Someone get them a bed or something...because that doesn't look cute to me. That looks flat out painful. 

During those times I wanted to just take them all and take care of them in my tiny town with the population about about 2,000 so that way they wouldn't be hurting. They'd be well rested. Probably not happy since they're randomly in America, but you can see where I'm going with this...hopefully.

I'm not a sasaeng I promise!

I just want them to be happy and not hurting.

So the members still keep getting hurt, but it's mostly Luhan who's sick and practically throwing up everywhere and eventually is hospitalized. That should be a warning for everyone. Not, 'Oh I hope he gets better so he can keep performing!' 

No.

The clear warning signs of: Luhan is going to be leaving the group if he can't get better.

And guess what?

He does.

We all anticipated it really, we just didn't have a clear date until he himself said something. And guess what? He's leaving for the Exact. Same. Reasons. As. Kris.

And he's using the Exact. Same. Lawyer. As. Kris.

So, why isn't everyone throwing massive shade at Luhan like they did at Kris?

DON'T GET ME WRONG ABOUT THIS!!! I'm thankful that he's not being too bullied by this, but the other Exo members don't seem near as bothered by him leaving verses Kris. There's something going on that we don't know and probably never will know. Just the way that they're all 'Goodbye Luhan be happy and healthy!' And then throw shade at Kris is kinda...eh...questionable. It's not my business really, but I'd like an explanation.

I know I won't get it, oh well.

What ticks me off the most about everything in this situation is that SM says once again that there's an outside force causing them to leave and that they had no idea whatsoever that they were unhappy.

Two words: BULL. CRAP.

You may be able to say that about Kris, but not a second time. Heck no. When two people leave so close together, you HAVE GOT TO KNOW that something is up. Maybe...just maybe...that 'outside force' is actually on the inside...and it's called YOU, SM.

It seems as though Kris and Luhan still retained a good friendship after he left which may or may not have been a factor of this, but I personally hope it is. I hope to see all of Exo out of SM. I would absolutely adore it if they pulled a Block B. I would cry, and if you all knew me personally...I don't cry unless I've broken a bone or lost a loved one in the family.

Brief summery of Block B: They used to be under Stardom entertainment. Well, they were unhappy so they just dissappeared practically after filing a lawsuit against them. They simply weren't getting paid enough and they were sick and tired of it. There's a lot more to it but this is a summery. Then they appeared under Seven Seasons and are super happy and as far as I know still continue to be super happy with their choice. 

Super Junior members have confirmed that Exo won't decently be paid enough until about three years after promoting. To me, that's just wrong on so many levels. They work so hard and so long...they deserve the money they get. Why keep so much of it from them? They need it for their own personal things like clothes or food (I assume they'd buy those things because clothes are good and food is delicious. More food for everyone!!!) 

SM is just a shady company. They've had so many lawsuits done under that branch that I just can't trust them like I can trust other companies. I love most of the groups under the company...but I don't like the company itself. Luhan even said that he felt like a puppet. No human should ever feel like a puppet, or a robot, or whatever. They should be able to goof off, make mistakes, show that they're clearly not perfect. 

They should feel like a normal human being.

I shall now wait and see if BoA or another kick- SM artist will buy out SM and become CEO or something, like what ZE:A did.

If a smaller company can do that, then SM sure as heck could.

I know that the former CEO's wife died, condolences. I'm not oblivious to that situation. I've recently found out that if anyone is to actually give the green lights and what not, it's Kim Youngmin.

I hope this doesn't come off as bashing SM, I just hope that this brings awareness that something NEEDS to change. It's not going to get any better if something doesn't change.

Now that two members are gone from Exo, I hope to see them all leave. I'd rather have them happy and healthy than promoting but miserable and exhausted all the time. I hope that if they all eventually leave, they'll continue to do what they love.

I as an author will continue to write with all twelve members. It's my personal decision. 12 members or 10, all of the members will be my Exo I love so much.

Exo, be brave. Be smart. Be amazing. And most importantly:

Be strong.
