appearance » Hyojung is a Korean girl with a fair-skinned complexion and is just slightly above average in terms of height, standing at 163 centimeters from top to bottom. Her hair is dyed a dark shade of auburn and reaches just a little past her waist. In egeneral, it is very straight, but also very thick with full bangs and tips that curl inward. 

Focusing more on the rest, the first thing to notice is her face. She comes across as more of a girl-next-door with her youthful and natural appearance. Her dark brown eyes are slanted and slightly droopy; they are one of the main features on her face aside from her curved jaw line and high cheekbones. The rest of her face is more on the soft side with a broad-tipped nose, plump cheeks and small lips. 

Moving downwards from her face, she has a slim neck and shoulders that may be perceived as broader than the average pair of female shoulders. Hyojung has a slender frame and isn't particularly curvaceous aside from a bit of a waist and chest. Her hips are narrow for a girl, and she has long, straight legs. She has flexible flatfoot, meaning she has flat feet when she is standing straight up and down, but an arch appears when she stands on her heel or moves her toes back.

style » Hyojung's style is simple and versatile. She isn't someone who cares a lot about trends nor is she good at following them, leading her to dress a little conservatively for her age with long skirts and high-collared shirts. Her outfits are often very feminine with the use of dark colors and pastels because she likes to keep it in a lively fashion. Hyojung enjoys dressing up for everything and can take it a bit far, but knows the difference between formal and informal events (with a few grey zones in between).

Two things that are evident through most of her clothes are comfort and self-esteem as she dresses in order to be comfortable, but also to feel good in what she wears. She is very fond of sneakers and boots and likes to have a bit of heel in order to achieve more of an elegant look. A lot of her clothes are aimed at drawing attention towards the torso instead of her lower half, leading to a lot of waist-hugging dresses, high-waist skirts and more colorful/patterned upper body clothing. When it comes to hair, it stays fairly simple. She mostly lets it loose unless exercise is involved, which is when she normally puts it in a semi-high ponytail or a bun. Often, a hat or a headband is used to add a little extra.

personality » Hyojung is the kind of person who knows how to switch off and have fun, simply experiencing life and everything it has to offer. Her wild bursts of enthusiastic energy is never a surprise to those who know her, especially her closest friends. She has good people skills and instantly knows how to present her ideas in a convincing way, at least in her own opinion. She can handle both small talk and deep, meaningful conversations, although her definition of small talk may be somewhat unusual – she might want to steer the conversation towards ideas rather than weather, gossip etc. Altruistic and cooperative, she does her best to be empathic and friendly in every situation. She can get along with nearly everyone and has a large circle of friends and acquaintances. She is very imaginative and open-minded. She enjoys trying out new things and does not hesitate to go outside her own comfort zone if necessary.
 
Hyojung is very sensitive and cares deeply about other people’s feelings – this can cause her a lot of stress sometimes as people sometimes look towards her for guidance and encouragement, and she just cannot always say “yes”. She has a tendency to lose interest quickly if her project shifts towards routine, administrative matters – she may not be able to stop her own mind from wandering off, which has gotten her into trouble more than once. She can't stand being micromanaged or restrained by rules and guidelines. She wants to be seen as highly independent individuals, master of her own fate and future. She has a habit of looking for hidden motives and tends to overthink even the simplest things, constantly asking herself why someone did what they did and what that might mean.
 
With a favoritism for harmony, she does her best to avoid conflict wherever possible. She is a natural team player, trying to get along with everyone. background » Moon Hyojung was born in Seoul, South Korea, on January 8, 1993. At the time of her birth, she was the youngest member in a family of five, consisting of herself, her parents and her older siblings, who were one and five years older than her. Her father, Moon Gwangcheol, was a heart surgeon who graduated from the top of his class at Yonsei University while her mother, Lee Songyi, was the co-owner of an antique shop in the city. As a child, she was very active in her community, being a member of several clubs and teams over the course of her childhood. One of the most life-changing ones was the time she joined a friend at her singing lessons and was fascinated with it herself. 

During the next few years, the arts became an important part of Hyojung's life. Her brother, Byungsoo, got her into photography as a fourteen-year-old while her mother introduced her to the wonders of French cuisine and musical instruments (piano and violin). To be honest, she never had any plans of becoming an idol. It actually happened in the form of scouting when she was in middle school. She and her older sister was wandering the streets of Seoul during summer break and was met by this talent scout from KS Entertainment, who took an interest in both of them. Aejung declined, knowing that she wanted to study and get an education in the future, while Hyojung was more interested. Her parents, particularly her mother, supported her in her decision as long as she kept her studies up. She officially became a trainee at the company in 2010.

personality » Looking at this guy once, it would seem as if he had worries at all on this planet. He is filled to the brim with bright smiles and a mouth that goes a hundred miles per hour, but no one really seems mind that much about him. Taemin is good with people and likes to communicate in various ways, which includes flirting, bad puns and pranks. It always seems like he never runs out of things to discuss, always eager to talk and entertaining others. Taemin is a bit of a rowdy one, always seeking excitement and trying to make everyday life slightly more unpredictable. With a rather expressionate face and eyes that reveal his very soul, there is little for a man like Taemin to hide behind. He can have his own insecurities, but likes to stand up and come off to others as charismatic and cool; someone who can trusted and believed in.

love story » A funny story about their first meeting. It is a known fact that Taemin attended another high school, Chungdam High, before he transferred to Seoul Arts High School. A student who attended the same high school was, in fact, Moon Hyojung herself! She was in the same year as him, but in a different class, so she only heard about the bullying that he went through because of his status as an artist. Hyojung found it interesting and approached him once after being persuaded by her friend, Soobin. She had to admit that, even back then, she had a bit of a crush on him. He was being friendly with her, having not seen her around, but she didn't get more than a hi and short introduction before she ran off, embarrassed and afraid to ruin it all. Before she could do anything else, however, he transferred to another school because of SHINee's hectic schedules. The two of them met again when Sugar had their debut stage, and he found her backstage by accident. She apologized right away, and he recognized the way she apologized and bowed, just like back in high school. (Hehe!) Hyojung is ushered off because she can say much, but he secretly slips her his number without anyone's knowledge (including her own).
