This is why people leave AFF...(or why they lock up their fics like I have)

Some of you may or may not have noticed that I’ve put the majority of my fics on friends-only. There is a reason for that, and if you would like to know, please read on.

Before we start, let me warn you this will be kind of long and while I won’t be using foul language, I will most definitely be using strong language.

A couple of weeks ago, I was minding my own business when I get these wall posts from someone we’ll refer to as “UsernameC”.

Remember, I was minding my own business, but this wall poster insisted. Okay then, what was the issue? Here’s a private message I got from this person (note how they no longer decided to post publicly on my wall).

I’m not even going to talk about the feelings I had when I read this message.

Note how this person (and I use that term very loosely) said it (at this point, I’m not going to use human personal pronouns; undeserved) changed usernames twice (I put in UserA for the original username and UserB for the new username) and that it is contacting me with some other random account.

The username change is significant and will be referred to later.

Suffice to say, my reply does not convey the intensity of the feelings I had. See how I very clearly asked if it had read my fic after it was pointed out that the fic it “wrote” bore similarities to mine:

Its reply?

Hmm, apparently, aside from theft, it also wants to try its hand at comedy! So, then, I had this exchange with it:

I underlined its answers and the date the message was sent on. It clearly says that it read my fic around April or May of this year; this year being 2014.

But what was left on Sweetest Vengeance, the fic that was plagiarized on Christmas Eve of 2013 (such a greeeaaaat gift, by the way)? This comment:

Oh, and who does it happen to be from?

UserA—whom this thief of barely borderline intelligence and absolutely no morals has admitted to being.

How do you comment on a fic one year before you supposedly ever read it?

At this point, you’re probably asking yourself, “Well, it this waste of space actually a thief? Maybe you’re just exaggerating. Maybe, like it says, there was just some sort of ‘misunderstanding’.”

Okay then, I’ll give you the evidence that was presented to the moderator who made the decision to take the thief’s ‘fic’ down, and I will give it to you without any kind of commentary, other than clarifying remarks. You be the judge of whether I was robbed or not.

My fic is called Sweetest Vengeance, and it’s about a messed-up Myungsoo, son of a rich CEO, who believes his stepmother is the reason his mother left him. He seeks his vengeance against her daughter, his stepsister, an OC by the name of Yoon Hye In. He abuses her for 5-6 years and she runs away to Jeju Island to escape him. When the story starts, she has been in hiding from him on the island for a year.

The fic the thief ‘wrote’ also features Myungsoo as a crazed, obsessed stepbrother looking for a stepsister who ran away after years of abuse to an island, where she has been hidden for a year.

I will present some excerpts from my fic and the thief’s.

OC’s name is Yoon Hye In

Also, in my fic, Myungsoo has certain rules that he enforces with his stepsister.

(-out words are M-rated.)

Those are just the ones in the report that got the fic removed.

Now, you tell me…was there a ‘misunderstanding’?

According to UsernameC, however:

If this was unintentional, every real writer on AFF better watch out for when this prokaryote ever decides to earnestly steal from you.

Also, how laughable is that last line? The only thing anyone has ever tried to take away from you, you sad little bottom-feeder, is your sense of basic decency, and that was only taken from you because they realized you weren’t doing anything with it anyhow.

I feel extreme pity for whoever wasted their time, energy, and effort in raising you, because ultimately, they would’ve been better off investing all those resources into a buffalo, since he/she can do labor and be butchered for meat later. In other words, he/she wouldn’t have been a waste of space or oxygen.

All my readers can thank this boil that requires lancing for the friends-lock I’ve put on nearly all fics and any future fics I will be sharing on this site. Not only did it steal from me once, but using its new account, it tried to subscribe to the fic it pilfered from (did it want to steal from me some more?) as well as another fic. I just don’t feel secure about leaving things out there when I’m not sure who I’m sharing with.

The only fics that will be open from now on are entries for ongoing contests (those are seen by plenty of people, so what fool would try to steal them?) and my compilation of posts about Sunggyu. If you feel even the need to steal a fangirl’s gushing over her bias, if you can’t even utilize the one brain cell I’ll give you credit for having, then I’d suggest you quickly save up some money and get yourself sterilized. Your genetic material needs to be eradicated post-haste from the gene pool.

I’m sorry for everyone who reads, subs, upvotes, and comments on my stuff and had nothing whatsoever to do with this debacle. I've lost the will to write for the time being and am just going to focus on the real life stuff I've been procrastinating over.

I thought this was all done, was prepared never to think of it ever again, and, if you’re friends with me and/or read my blog posts, you’ll see I was prepared to let sleeping (lying, thieving) dogs lie. I didn’t start this, but I’m sure as heck going to end this.

And to you, you lying, thieving poor imitation of a human being: I’ve temporarily unblocked your primary account. If you’re as innocent as you claim, then you’ll have no problem commenting on this blog post with it and explaining yourself, won’t you?

If, however, you continue to make your ludicrous claims via PM…well, then, why don’t you add coward to liar and thief, so there won’t be any misunderstanding about just the type of ‘person’ you are?

so. i wondered here through your comment on my blog post simply because i grew curious as to who you were in the nicest way possible. I wondered if i had you as a friend or not. So when I saw we weren't friends, i went to send you one, then ended up reading your blog post about friend requests and about your plagiarism..'scandal' i'll call it.
it always to have your trust fall apart, especially where you can assume nothing bad will happen. I can't say i've gone through what you have, but i have been a theft back in my younger days; i use to steal faces because i was fat and not so attractive and betrayed peoples trusts. when i got onto AFF to write stories, I started stealing layouts. Not stories, but layouts. I ran away from those old AFF accounts and apologized before deactivating them all. While i know you may be llike 'okay, and?' i guess my main point is, don't make everyone your enemy. its good to stay cautious but your writing, from what i can tell, is simply BREATH TAKING.
I want to add you as my friend just to see what you're hiding because just those small excerpts from your fic, made me want to dive in and read the entire story, and honestly, you will hardly catch me reading ANY fanfics on here just because i'm picky and... well, i prefer writing over reading, i suppose.
Anyway! I know once someones mind is set on something, you can't change their opinon, but i just want to tell you, missy. one day, let a fanfic run free. your writings could easily be one of the most popular fanfics on this site with just what i've read.
(and mind you, your concept idea is simply astonishing. none like i've heard before!)
so here's a comment from someone who can relate but in the opposite position, with nothing more than positive feedback for you, and nothing more. I hope you are still writing, because with someone of your intelligence and creativity, should spread their creativity around to make others experience and smile and giggle with your ideas.

Well, it had been a while and I wanted some y Sunggyu so I went and looked for yours fics. I've been on a hiatus from AFF as a reader. But I saw that I subscribed to you as an author and as a picky reader that I am, I thought you must be excellent for me to subscribe, not to your fics, but to you as an author. It is unfortunate that you have to face with plagiarism. I'm hoping to read your fanfics so I probably contact you in the near future as you wish in your other blog to read them. As of now, I'm still busy but seeing this I thought I ought to let you know - YOU ROCK! Stay strong and continue to write. There are readers supporting you xD

LOL So, I see this now... and... I dont know... but 'stupid', 'brainless', and 'moron' can't cover what she is in reality. That is what I hate about plagarisim overall, how stupid people end up looking like and how they do it again. Tsk tsk tsk. I believe in you, him nae ra!

Sorry to hear abt this and I was wondering what happened to sweetest vengeance as I returned a couple of times to re-read it :P glad it's locked instead of being taken down.
nabi_devi #10
As someone that has read Sweet Vengeance a couple of times now, this really angers me that aside from plagiarizing it, the person has the audacity to lie about even after leaving solid evidence that she indeed plagiarized. Instead of going in circles and making themselves look stupider, why can't they just fess up and apologize. It is rude and straight up screwed up trying to steal someones work and ideas just to feel better and get the attention. I hope I never get to find out who it was bc I would leave my two cents about the issue considering you're one of my favorite authors on here.

omg im really sorry to hear that someone plagiarized your story, which i have to admit is really good and one of my favourites, then not admitting it and lying it's ridiculous! i hope it won't happen to you again but just remember your true talent and own work will be rewarded and memorable to alot of readers whereas, that person who clearly copied you will not and they will be bad for it! i just really want to see i love this fic!! and i will read your other fics, i saw one story which i was interested in but then when i clicked on it, it says it doesn't exist so i think i have to be your friend first to be able to read it, i really hope that you'll accept my FR! thank you!

How hard it is for people to say "sorry" and reflect on their actions. Is it too low they "plagiarized" that they have to contact you again using another name.... tsktsk.
On a lighter note... a good "presentation" of what he has done. Hahaha it makes me appreciate and respect you more as a writer. I feel the emotions as you write it. Hihihi

Wow.. I mean wow. That user clearly copy some of your work and if I was her i'd be embarrassed and delete my work. But she kept saying she did not plagiat your work.

.....Do some people really think others are THAT stupid? Is it so hard to admit something when all the evidence points out clearly who is guilty and who is not? Did the person really believe changing usernames and contacting you to lie, AGAIN, was going to clear up this mess they created? The world and the people in it amaze me sometimes...I understand why you want to take a break and to be comepletely honest, you're making a wise decision. I would do the same. As much as I'll miss your writing, I believe in you, so you should do what you need. I hope the scumbag gets what they deserve. Much love and good vibes being sent your way. ♥♥
