WAE TAO @ TLPSG

I wrote this 4 week ago but it got deleted before I had a chance to post it. And I had already written 2000+ words. Thanks AFF ;A;

Warnings: FRUSTRATION BC I HAVE TO REWRITE. TEARS BC HUANG ZITAO YOU. CROWDS ARE SCARY. HUNHAN CROWDS ARE SCARY. VULAGARITIES. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED. And before I forget, yes, this is about my TLP experience.

My sis and I (I really don't care if that's supposed to be the other way around) reached the concert venue at around 4 something, and I was really grumpy because I fell asleep 5 minutes before the taxi reached the stadium and I didn't get any sleep the night before because obviously i thought i was nocturnal and could survive on 3 hours of sleep. THANKS BRAIN. So I got out of the cab/taxi thing and the sleepy feeling vanished instantly because HOLY everybody looks so much older than me??? Or maybe it's just because everybody looked so tall... ;-; I was slightly uncomfortable and scared because the crowds were overwhelming and everybody was staring/glaring at everybody else and I saw so many girls dressed up in expensive clothes and I just- I FELT THE JUDGEMENTAL EYES OKAY. I'm sorry my clothes weren't fancy enough. TAT

// get sleep if you intend to go to a concert the next day. prepare yourself for high-pitched screaming and crowds.

Okay so technically... If you ever go to a concert, you shouldn't have to be scared of being judged for your height/looks/everything. I experienced the judgemental glares at AON (2NE1's concert) in June as well, but I had already expected this because Singapore is full of pretty girls and we're all kind of... perfectionists when it comes to looking good. Except for me because I'm going through puberty okay and I don't actually fit kid's clothes but I look like I'm trying too hard when I wear teenager/adult clothes. That's a thing. However, the atmosphere in concert venues might be different in other countries, I'm not sure.

My sis checked a few fansites before we went to the concert and apparently the official exo merch was selling out REALLY fast so we immediately rushed to the queue to get our lightsticks, which cost $13. It was a bit pricey to me since I could've eaten 2-3 full meals with that amount, but hey, there are so many guys in EXO with healthy growing appetites, they need all the money they can get to feed them! when we got in the queue, the EXO staff people handed us a form to fill up so we could pass the form to them to let them know what we wanted to buy, and my sis and I both didn't have a pen and were panicking and the girl in front of us suddenly turned around to lend us a pen and we were really quite shocked because, again, I want to point out that most Singaporeans aren't the most friendly people around and we thanked her after filling out the form.

// I wouldn't recommend buying anything else but the lightstick, maybe the bandanna is worth investing in, but the others are honestly overpriced (to me) and I would feel a bit apprehensive on bringing a Tao pen/pencil/eraser to school. But maybe that's because I really like to save money for rainy days. ^^"

So after that, we walked around a bit to get fanmade EXO merch and all of a sudden I heard a this explosion sound from upstairs (probably static from the speakers) and then I heard SCREAMING and EXO's music from the concert stadium on the second floor. I got really excited all of a sudden when I thought of Tao and didn't look where I was going and bumped into somebody and apologised OTL I'M SORRY I'LL PAY ATTENTION NEXT TIME!

Then we headed to the area near the entrance because there was a really long queue there when we got in and we joined the queue and it turns out that it was a SuChen fansite and they were giving out free SuChen photocards, which was really nice of them! :D Thank you halfrhyme!

(the quality is because I tried to expand the image properties so that you guys could see D:)

// find long queues and join them, but you might want to prepare your tickets on hand and money as well.

After that, I think we found a Luhan fansite giving out these free Luhan banner/paper things and the adorable photocards! Thank you RomanceKiller (@LUHANKR), LUHANSINGAPORE (@LUHANSINGAPORE) and IGotMyAngelNow! <3

I kind of cropped the words on the banner out because goddamn instagram and the 3x3 or 4x4 photo grid things, the banner says:

永与鹿同行 (Forever with with Luhan)

The words at the back are instructions/special notes:

-Please raise this paper up only when it is Luhan's solo performance!

-Other than the simple task above, what you can do is... SCREAM!

Let's show him our love and let him know that we will always be there for him~

So my sis and I started walking around to the north area and we heard people shouting and at first I thought it was just an excited fan or something but then I heard the word 'LIGHTSTICK!' and I got really excited and found out it was the Yixing fansite owners selling a Yixing bundle. $20 for one Yixing lightstick, two photocards and one Yixing banner I believe. My sis paid for it so technically the bundle belongs to her and I don't have a picture of it. :(

After that we officially settled on getting fanmerch first and then we saw a REALLY long and straight line and the two people handing out stuff were shouting 'BAEKHYUN ASKLLHEFKJKM' (I couldn't hear them clearly OTL) and of course we got in line since my sis' biases are SeBaek. So we got at the end of the freaking long line and then while we were chatting, a girl swooped in and jumped our queue. Um excuse your  I might be only one or two years older than you but my sis is obviously WAY older, is this the kind of respect you have for your elders? I glared at her and she didn't even look apologetic or anything and she was just standing there as though she did nothing wrong and my sis shrugged and we kind of settled on just being all like  it, we shouldn't let her ruin our mood. Then around 3 people before our turn, the fansite owners shouted that the baekhyun stuff were all given out ;A; I wanted to leave but we already waited for a pretty long time so we whipped our tickets out and they gave us a Chanyeol photocard. (heyyy Chanbaek fansite~) <3

Sorry I can't give out credit anyone, the font is way too small and I don't exactly have the best vision, but thank you Rise+Shine! (though I think it's the name of the project).

// To avoid getting into fights (especially if you feel poorly on that day), you should shove the person who jumped your queue politely tell him/her to go and wait at the back of the line because you were here first and you've been waiting for a while already. Unless you're like me and you know that the person would deny it and push the blame on you or use your own words against you. In which case, shove the person who jumped your queue ignore the person.

(however if you're feeling rebellious that day and totally want to get escorted out by EXO's 100000000 bodyguards, go ahead and spray insect repellent at the other person's face. I've done it before and it totally feels your skin is on fire! <3) //it was an accident// //i just happened to have a bottle on me// //it really burns btw, I'VE EXPERIENCED GETTING SPRAYED IN THE NECK//

After that not-so-pleasant experience, we decided to go one last round looking for fanmerch (specifically zitao's fanmerch) but we couldn't find any. Yes, we did check the fan-made timetable thing on which fansite was going to be handing out merch and stuff, but Tao's fansites were all ridiculously early (my sis had work before going to the concert) and we actually felt like since they were Tao stans, they probably came in expensive cars and clad in gucci and leather and swag (does anybody even use that word anymore) and smacked their lips and were like 'all you es c'mere and get your damn merch (does my lipstick look okay)(is my hair perfect)(help me open my lollipop)(girl those shorts don't look good on you)(mY ANACONDA DON'T WANT NONE UNLESS YOU GOT BUNS, HUN) and they left after 5 minutes.

I'm kidding, btw. :D I appreciate them handing out the merch, and I saw a tons of photos of the Tao banners and daaamn, some are seriously pretty fancy and cool! And the venues for the meetups were at places with no shelter so I think it's really nice of them to hand banners and stuff out!

So we walked around a little more and I noticed this huge crowd around the north entrance and I went over to check it out since my sis didn't want to go inside the crowd :( I'm honestly quite short for my age so I had to tiptoe a lot and then I realised the fansite was actually giving out (insert bias here) plastic/paper fans! They were seriously adorable and I was just squeezing in to get through, but within 5 minutes by the time I got to the front, the fansite masters were shouting 'ALL GONE! ALL GONE! NO MORE!' and I was damn sad because those crowds are scary okay! :( I was really disappointed because I had basically no Tao merch at all and my sis didn't get Sehun merch either. Maybe the Tao and Sehun fansite masters became friends and ran away after 5 minutes to skip around in a daisy meadow, holding hands with rainbows popping up everywhere and the flowers are singing and stuff.

Taohun buddies ftw! <3

We decided that we had enough of the crowds and the stifling heat, and exited and stadium since Kallange Wave shopping mall was less than a street away.

So to sum it up, our official+fanmerch consists of a Chanyeol photocard, 3 SuChen photocards, 2 Yixing photocards (not mine), 1 Luhan photocard (double-sided), 1 EXO TLP lightstick, 1 Yixing lightstick (not mine), 1 Luhan banner, 1 Yixing banner (not mine).

After that we shopped around the mall a bit and the entire mall was flooded with EXO fans omg and I had fun guessing everybody's biases when they walked past us. Dinner was quite... Um, unappealing and too spicy so I wouldn't go into further details... ^^" (DON'T EVER GET THE GINGER DRINK. EVER.)

After that, we walked around a little bit and noticed there was a group of people walking around with a lot of Peter Pan paper crowns and I wanted to go ask them for the crown initially but we decided to get the crowns later at the concert venue. So we left the mall and went to the concert venue and we noticed this huge screaming crowd beside the lines of the people queuing up for the moshpit area, and I gave my sis my phone and wallet to look after while I squeezed inside the crowd to find out what was going on.

-

And I'm sorry but I'm ending Part 1 of my TLP experience here because I want the first line of Part 2 to match up with the title of the blog post! It's going to be titled 'WAE HUNHAN CROWDS @ TLPSG'. ;D

(that's riiiiiiiight it was a hunhan crowd ;DDDDDD)

Wow. Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm really jealous of you because I've never been to any concert. I blame our location (stupid archipelago and we just have to live in a rural area) and also because money orz I really can't afford a concert ticket plus airplane tickets (it is necessary) plus accomodation and stuff. What is this life? Anyway, I liked reading this and I look forward to the part two. I am going to imagine that I am experiencing what you have experienced.

Thanks for sharing! I loved reading about your experience and I think you should have told the chic that jumped your queue to leave. You were very nice about it and I think that is cool but that person should not have done that and I am sorry that happened to you and your sis. Can't wait to read the next part!
