appearance — Eunmi is a tomboy with the stage presence of a girly girl. Much more comfortable at home or out with friends in jeans, T-shirts, and sneakers, Eunmi doesn't always have that cutesy asian look. When she's off stage she often prefers comfort over style. She also has an obsession for snapbacks, pairing a hat with almost every one of her outfits. Over the past four years since the group's debut, Eunmi has become the icon for bringing back the "comfortable" Airport Fashion, often showing up in leggings and a hoodie. With Eunmi cruising in comfort off stage, she rocks her girlier side on stage. Unless spcified, her stage outfits most of the time includes dress, skirts, and flowy/fitted tops.

traits — Funny, Wild, 4D, Loving, Determined, Adventureous, Clumsy, Impatient, Picky

personality —

Officially diagnosed with ADHD at a young age, Eunmi Kim surely shows it. Her personality, often described by the media as 4D, is awesome with a slight touch of strange. She says the most random things at the most random times, but always to make the people around her laugh. With all this energy boiling up inside of her, Eunmi lets loose and goes wild sometimes, offering the perfect guest for shows like Running Man. She likes to direct most of her attention and energy on bothering or getting into everyone else's business. Even after a long day of practices and performances, Eunmi has the engergy to make her members and staff laugh. Being the adrenaline junkie that Eunmi is, the fans and her members were not shocked when she was the first to bungee jump while the group was on Running Man. During the members' visit to the amusement park on a variety show, Eunmi showed no fear and even excitement when standing in line for the scariest of rides.

Of course, there will be no Mary-Sues because Mary-Sues don't exist. Everyone has their flaws and when Eunmi's come out, they come out roaring. Eunmi has the least amount of patience within the group. She hates waiting and she hates people that are late. A pet peeve from young, Eunmi has always been on time or even early, but never late. When others are late, her mood of bubbly and fun becomes the polar opposite. She's picky, but only about food. Food is one of the most important thing to her (Food Junkie~). She's very much open to trying new things, but foods she grew up with have to be made a certain way, creating a challenge when trying to adjust to Korea's Japanese food. For a dancer, Eunmi's pretty clumsy. It is not an unusual sight for the members, staff, and media to see the main dancer triping on flat ground or falling over her own feet.

Once you peel back the outer bubbly and almost childish layer that is Eunmi, you start to notice that her serious side is just as lovable. Eunmi, being raised with a full-time mom, a loving dad, and a rascal little brother, fully believes in the value that is family. She cares deeply for her unnies, oppas, dongsaengs, sunbaes, hoobaes, and everything in between. She is often seen making sure others get things before here even if there's not enough.

Coming for a middle-class family, Eunmi has surely not been granted everything that she's wanted. And she surely has not been up to the standard that she often gives herself. Although it kills her parents to admit this, they doubted their daughter's dream to be an idol. Because of a lack of money during her childhood, Eunmi was never able to take the dance classes she yearned for. Eunmi got a job to pay for her own classes.

background —

Kieko Eunmi Kim was born on June 15th, 1993 in Tokyo, Japan to first time parents Doo Wan Kim, a company worker, and Shizuko (Higashiyama) Kim, a high school teacher. With the birth of their first child, Shizuko left work to become a stay at home mom. Her father, Kim Doo Wan, is a Korean national, who was transfered to Tokyo due to his fluency in Japanese. After getting married, he quit his company job to go after his dreams of owning an Alternative Energy company. Her mother, Shizuko (Higashiyama) Kim, was born and raised in Sapporo, Japan. She later moved to Tokyo where she majored in Japanese and Korean studies at Waseda University. Since her father's company was just beginning to grow popular during her younger years of childhood, Eunmi and her parents knew what it was like to live pay check to pay check for a while.

Once her father's company grew in popularity and the family became financially stable, her parents decided it was time to give Eunmi a younger sibling, a brother to be exact. Masao Hyunsoo Kim, 4 years younger than Eunmi, is just as energetic as his older sister. The two faught a lot when they were young, but as they grew older they grew closer as well. Masao keeps in contact with Eunmi through Kakao and Line. Being a high scool senior, he flies up to Seoul during school breaks. Due to Wonderwall's popularity in both Korean and Japan, many of Masao's friends joke that they're jealous of his closeness with the girl group and beg him to introduce them (maybe not as jokingly haha). While the group was promoting in Japan, Eunmi made sure to introduce her family and friends in Japan to the group members.

Since young, Eunmi has had a passion for dance. The spark started at the age of 5 when she accidentally took the wrong turn walking home from elementary school. Instead of turning on the street to her juku (Hagwon), she to a street that had a dance studio. To young Eunmi's eyes, it was the most beautiful thing she ever saw. The building was practically made of glass, almost showcasing the different levels and styles of dancers inside as if they were trophies.  Her heart broke when her parents told her they couldn't afford to pay for classes. She had a fit, running into the room she shared with her brother and locked the door. The next day she sat across the road for hours, watching, memorizing, and copying the moves the dancers made. When the studio finally closed for the day, she would run to the closest PC Room and research the moves, watching MVs, and of course discovering K-Pop. She repeated this almost everyday. At the age of 10, her parents finally agreed to allow her to earn money by working at her father's company(Filing and stuffs) in order to pay for lessons.

Traveling back and forth to Korea once a year definitely exposed Eunmi to K-Pop, but she fell in love with it even more when she learned how to dance to it. In 2008, news of a YG Entertainment Tokyo Audition spread through the studio. Eunmi took this as a sign and chance to reach her dreams. 2NE1 were her favorite girl group and the group she looked up to the most. Her parents quickly denied her though, insisting that she at least wait until she graduated from high school and started college. She finally convinced them, promising that she would continue her high school education in Korea during her trainee days, then attend college as soon as the company would allow her. She auditioned the next day and passed with flying colors. A few weeks later, Eunmi moved to Seoul and into the YG Trainee dorms. Some of the meaner trainees about her technique due to her lack of traditional lessons, but she quickly shut them up with her ability to pick up routines fast. She often struggled to balance her grades in her new school with the constant assessments the company shot at the trainees, but she tried her best through blood, sweat, and tears (literally).

After only one year of trainee life, Eunmi was notified that she was picked along with a few other trainees, (enter other YG trainee group members name here), to be part of a group that would train and run  under both YG and SM management. Half the would be YG trainees and the other half would be SM trainees. Eunmi was estatic! SM entertainment and YG entertainment were her top two companies that she was going to audition for, but now she got to be in both. A few months later, she met the SM trainees that would soon be her sisters, and the 4/5 girls moved into a company shared dorm to start the training and preparing for their debut the next year.

  • (2011)Running Man in New Zealand (Bungee Jump)- With Wonderwall
  • Feels about debuting in Japan: Eunmi was probably the most excited out of all the members. The biggest reason being that her home country is Japan. Feeling more comfortable in her mother tongue, Eunmi was able to open up and express more while on Japanese TV, allowing the fan groups from Korea, Japan, and the rest of the world to see a deeper, more serious side to their lovable jokester. During the finale of their first Japan (Tokyo Dome) concert, Eunmi burst out crying to the point where some of the other members had to take over her parts while comforting her.

friends —

— Moon Haejee | BFF | Met during a summer in Korea (Non-Idol). Although the two lived in different countries during the school year, Eunmi and Haejee kept in close contact, sharing everything with each other. Haejee is almost the complete opposite of Eunmi; cool, calm, and collected. But, that's what makes them perfect for each other.

— Lee Dongwook | BOF (Best Oppa Friend) | Met while Wonderwall was filming a CF. With over ten years of age between the two, this friendship almost seems odd. But, Dongwook and Eunmi have that kind of oppa/dongsaeng relationship that every girl can be jealous of. He watches over and takes care of her.

THINK ABOUT YOU BOY, DREAM ABOUT YOU BOY.

love interest — Zhang Yixing (Lay)

backup love interest — Wu Yi Fan (Kris)

personality —

Intially, Zhang Yixing looks like he has a personality opposite of Eunmi, shy and quiet. But, as you get to know him, the trickster and energetic boy within comes out. Yixing, although slightly forgetful at times, can be one of the brightest, most caring person around. He can be a little.... "out there" at times, but that just matches perfectly with Eunmi.

EXO's Lay and Zhang Yixing, although within the same body, are two separate personalities. EXO's Lay is a confident, y, "knows he's hot" guy that can make the girls faint with a single look while he's powerfully dancing on stage. Zhang Yixing is an awkward child, that doesn't always make sense especially with his humor. He is extremely ticklish and tends to understand things a little too late. But, he's always there for you when you need him the most and always has a shoulder to cry on.

relationship —

Both having been accepted as trainees in 2008, Yixing and Eunmi were often in the same classes at SM. Yixing knew of Eunmi, everyone in company did. She was going to be main dancer of the first company collaboration group. Everybody from both companies knew of the members of Wonderwall. Yixing had to admit, he was slightly jealou. She had been training for the same amount of time as him, but she would be debuting the next year, while he didn't even know if he would even make it to being in a group.

Eunmi knew of Yixing. From the first moment she stepped into the dancer practice room for SM second year trainees, she saw and respected the amount of talent the boy had more the art form. Although the two were often in the same Korean and dance classes, they never really got to know each other. Once Eunmi and Wonderwall were chosen to be the next group to debut, the two's time together was cut short before they could even officially introduce themselves. Eunmi and Wonderwall were in the world of debuted artists, while Yixing and his EXO brothers (they were finally notified) waited with nerves to join them.

One and a half years later, Yixing and EXO finally joined their sunbaes. With EXO-M's quickly growing popularity in China,  the two were once again kept from each other. Not at all bonding until one fateful plane ride to LA for KCon. Because of a mixed with seating and tickets, Eunmi and Yixing were seated next to each other on the 12hr flight. At first it was awkward, but eventually the two got comfortable again and the flight was filled with laughs. Despite the two's stressfully filled schedules, they barely got any sleep.

During the present day, Yixing and Eunmi continue to be good friends. Often using broken Korean and hand gestures to communicate, the facetime each other a lot during breaks between recordings or preformances. Eunmi once used Yixing as her "Best Friend" on a radio show, calling him while he had the day off to "show off" their friendship. Although, at the moment their relationship is very platonic, but the people around them can feel something growing with in it.

YEAH WE'RE DONE.
