So there's been a lot of scandals lately and as a result some of my favourite stories have been stopped or deleted altogether because the characters in it are currently dating or some other scandal. I know the author must feel that it's not right to continue if the idols that give them inspiration are having troubles and they have every right to stop writing if they so wish to.

Here are a few examples (not saying this is what happens in all fics but just some I've noticed that seem to correspond to events in real life, as I've said, it's an author's right to change their story and I am not criticising here just merely pointing things out);

• Some fics may exclude Kris; either have him leave the story temporarily or permanently. In some cases, they have killed off his character. Again I am stressing that I'm not criticising but most of the time when authors do these they don't give his character closure; like what happens to his plots and storylines? What do they do now without him? 

• Baekhyun/Taeyeon stories changing. Baekyeon has always been a ship even before they got together and I actually applaud their shippers x3 However, other ships such as Baekyeol and Taeny and a lot others; may sometimes take the brunt of it in fanfictions. Maybe Baekyeol may suddenly break up and Baek just vanishes and poor Chanyeol is left alone. I've read one where Taeny moved away and the author stopped writing about them as if they never existed; the rest of the characters does not mention them and it's just kind of a blank plothole. Same goes for Yoona, Sooyoung and Nichkhun.

• Sulli. Here's a recent one; I'm sure f(x) fans have heard of her relationship with Choiza and having to take a hiatus in her activities due to physical and emotional stress. What's disappointing is some fans stop supporting her because of it when this is the time she most needs it. Here in Asianfanfics, it's also kinda heartbreaking. Now a little information about me; I ship many ships. Some hardcore ships, some 'I approve of' ships and SeSul is one. I love SeSul fics because some of the writers are insanely good. I'm feeling feels, I'm hooked on the story. I didn't start off shipping it but through reading about them I kind of fell in love. But a ship is just a ship unless it became canon in real life. Some authors have deleted their fics and my favourite one even left and deactivated her account. I don't know the reasons why and I probably never will but it was heartbreaking to lose a great writer like her and to be honest I was more of a fan of her stories more than I was of SeSul. 

As fans, the authors must feel disappointed with the events happening in real life and may not be up to writing about the idols though that leaves their story unfinished. Asianfanfics is for fans obviously and we write stories because of idols; they're the inspiration. But there's also an aspect of writing; this site helps everyone on their writing skills and honestly I love everything about it. I love seeing authors develop their styles and stories and I love that I have developed min through all these years. So I guess what I'm trying to say is, I hope that some authors do not feel discourage of any scandals that break out and consider changing their stories purely because of these events. Fanfics are fiction. Though sometimes you wish it was reality; I think fanfics are what keeps fandoms alive when all the bad things are happening in real life. We can escape reality even just for a little while.

These are more of elongated pet peeve rather than a rant xD but I'm sure I've missed out quite a few because I just woke up and haven't had coffee yet so this is all I can think of from the top of my head. If there are some instances you've noticed please feel free to comment below.
