A robot confession

(source: affconfession.tumblr.com)

Absolute Boyfriend was first released in March 2005, the anime adaptation was aired in Japan in 2008 and the Taiwanese adaptation in April 8, 2012 (source: Wiki). Goddess created Robot Boyfriend: Insanity Level 1000 in August 2012.

I suggest you get your facts straight before accusing Yuu Watase of plagiarizing a fanfic that was created seven years after her manga was first released and the same year the Taiwanese version was aired.

Shouldn't the admins of affconfessions filter confessions?  It's easy to check if the information contained is factual or not. So okay, it's a confession, an opinion, and they are just posting. But if they feel like they should post everything, I think the responsible thing to do is CHECK and add a note somewhere, than spread false accusations.

And gah, some actually liked it. Look. I have nothing against your favorite author and her stories but just because you find a manga or drama similar to her fanfic, it doesn't automatically mean that the mangaka or the other party plagiarized.

I am not accusing anyone of anything. I didn't make that observation. I am merely replying to this confession and the stupidity right here.

EDIT: I have calmed down. And I am made aware that perhaps this is just a huge misunderstanding. That some word switching happened. Whew. I hope that to be the case.

I just read this and I understand your rage since I'm a huge Jpop, manga and Jdrama fan. Although I feel like there are two ways of using 'by'. What the confessor might mean could be it was the idea of plagiarizing could be from there. Therefore, plagiarized by.
BUT if she meant that Yuu Watase plagiarized, she could have written '....'Robot Boyfriend: Insanity Level 1000' is plagiarized by *Yuu *Watase'...'
But she wrote the name of the manga itself. So there are always two perspectives of looking at the same sentence. She might not be responsible for what you understood. :)

Ignorance at it's finest right there -__-

Ah well: Best to just leave people like that alone and let them make a fool out of themselves. I'm not familiar with Absolute Boyfriend but Yuu Watase is NOT a plagiarizer if she's the creator of the manga. You'd think that confesser would understand that.

Wonder if this is just a case of using the wrong preposition "plagiarized FROM" versus "plagiarized BY". Really changes the meaning! I hope the original confessor was just bad with prepositions and not this inherently ignorant.

The famous baekyeol fic "Absolute Chanyeol" was adapted from the same manga as well, but the author made note in her fic that that's where she got the inspiration for her work. Goddess on the other hand has no mention of the manga, but it might be because she honestly had no prior knowledge about it existing at all. Either way, though, I frowned a little when I first came across Goddess's fic bc of the fact that I'd seen a similar plot already. Ofc she's not the only one I've seen write about this prompt, though. There was another advertised story a while back with the same plot of EXO as robot boyfriends out of a catalog (exact same as Absolute Chanyeol, idk about Goddess's bc I haven't read hers) and there was no mention of any outside inspiration on that foreword as well. I don't know if this whole robot boyfriend plot is cliche enough to be so widespread and so similar in every story it is used, but if authors really did get inspiration from another source and their work is reflective of that source of inspiration, I believe it is their responsibility to give credit. I'm tired of even using the word "inspiration" because in many cases, people abuse that term.

This is hilarious. I'm literally cackling. How stupid could one person be? Like really, this is beyond absurd.
