Kris's Depression And The Novels That He Had Read

Since debut everyone voted Kris as the sleeping representative, sleeping for up to 10 hours at a time, but no one questioned it. Everyone assumed that he just wanted rest from the hectic idol life. But actually, sleeping is a sign of depression… Kris also read a lot of self help books (we’ve seen him carry them through the airports too). He’s also openly discussed about getting depressed during trainee days.

I read one of the books he carried around in the airport because that’s the only one available in English. It is quite depressing and it’s something that will haunt you for several days with all the thoughts…

what is it called?

It’s called “After Dark” but Haruki Murakami. It’s a great book, really.
I’m on the lookout for “Because it’s youth that’s why it hurts” but it’s not available in English. There is another book called “Calm Life Is Not Lonely” but the only available version is in US and it’ll cost $60 to get it here…so yeah… I want to read those two books especially ‘Calm Life Is Not Lonely’

lmao. I sound like I keep a track record of books he read. ellipheu

After Dark kind of made me feel hopeless.

Pulled from Wikipedia/Articles:

"Alienation, a recurring motif in the works of Murakami, is the central theme in this novel (After Dark)."

"In this long, winding road of life, forever lost without a direction. In this decade characterized by customs and parental dependance, how should you choose your battle and establish a future of your own? A spiritual guidance for the million youths in Asia." (For "Because it's youth that's why it hurts")

"Basically it’s about how to stay calm and collected when faced with life’s various situations. It teaches you how to appreciate those so-called lonely times and utilize them as a time to appreciate life and learn to forgive, forget, and reflect." (Short Description for "Calm Life Is Not Lonely")

....That'll be all.

I didn't find After Dark overwhelmingly depressing tbh :S
But Murakami's a friggin' bro \o/ Depressed or not, I'd read the hell out of that all day :P

And considering Kris didn't spend all day reading Archie Comics, I suppose perhaps I should've noted that all might not be well :/

I've read After Dark and I didn't really find it depressing. Thought-provoking, yes. But while it was somewhat poignant and lonely, it didn't seem really depressing. Absolutely recommend that book, though. Super duper amazing writing.
