KPop Blog--On and On

다칠 준비가 돼 있어 (On and On)

The Artists:

N:

Praise:

N is a very good singer, and in this song he lets his voice come out strong. He dances very well and plays out the emotions in the song convincingly.

Critique:

I don't have anything to say but keep doing what you're doing, Oppa, because it's working.

Leo:

Praise:

Leo is another strong singer with a very unique voice. He knows exactly how to control his voice and brings a lot of passion into this song. Also, like all the other members, he dances very well.

Critique:

Once again, nothing to say about Leo in this song. He sang it very well.

Ken:

Praise:

Ken is an amazing singer. He's steady and has a pleasant quality to his voice.

Critique:

I have nothing to say about his performance in this song.

Ravi:

Praise:

Ravi is a very good rapper when it comes to Korean. He raps quickly and clearly and has an interesting voice.

Critique:

When it comes to English on the other hand, Ravi is not the best. Despite English not being his strong suit, Ravi did a pretty good job pronouncing everything. He tries his best and that's all that matters.

Hongbin:

Praise:

Hongbin doesn't have many lines in this song, but the few he did have, he sang very well.

Critique:

I have nothing negative to say about his performance in this song.

Hyuk:

Praise:

Hyuk has a good voice and can hold his own against any other singer. He sang his lines well, and he danced well.

Critique:

Ah, those tricky "th" sounds! He nailed them! I have nothing I can say but good job.

The Song:

The music:

I have to say as soon as I heard this song, I fell in love with the music. I love the synthesizers they used! They had a good balance so it wasn't messy like some songs. It has a nice melody, and I think I could just listen to the music and be fine.

The lyrics:

They of course have to start off by announcing themselves, I mean, what KPop band hasn't done that at least once?

The rest of the song is about a girl who for some reason they let hurt them over and over again to the point they feel they need professional help to get away from her, yet they're sad when she leaves them for another guy whom she'll no doubt do the same to.

The Video:

The dance:

This dance kills me! Is the first part supposed to be them imagining themselves strangling her? Ragardless, it's funny. Then there's the zombie-like hip shaking... It's fun and easy to learn!

The scenes:

They start off in this weird Russian(?) military base run by women who capture them and send them into space. They then spend a minute hurdling through space in their rockets before crashing into the surface of the moon(?). After standing up and marveling at their new-found wardrobe, they decide to dance and let out their frustrations before saving a girl tied to a tree. Not sure what this has to do with the song, but it looks cool.

The wardobe:

Okay, so they start off in these pretty awesome torn and dirty clothes like they were spending their time fighting in a resistance--and a fashionable one at that! After they're knocked out by the mysterious, possibly Russian female soldiers who captured them to send them to the moon for some reason, they are apparently nakie in the rockets (or at least shirtless). Then they somehow have suits on when they crash onto the moon's surface. Not sure how that worked... But, hey, they're on the moon and don't need masks to breathe, so why not? I'm also not sure what the glowing glasses are for, but they're cool! Also, they all have some pretty awesome hair. N's silver hair is just cool.

So, despite the video not really matching the song, I'll give On and On 9 out of 10 stars for VIXX's good performance and the song itself.

Be sure to request a song you'd like my opinion on!
