TUTBL in Print?
I recently discovered a lgbt press imprint that inspired me to want to write original novels again for money.
While researching online to find out if it was a legitimate publisher, I stumbled upon a blog post regarding reworking fanfiction into original stories.
And this made me think, "why write an entirely new story when I have a novel-length work of gay fiction just sitting here?"
I write kpop fanfics by taking the name, appearance, and occupation of real people and turning them into original characters. Sometimes I do things that end up being correct (in "Break the Sky", Tao is deaf and knows sign language. I found out two weeks ago that Tao has a deaf friend and knows sign language.) And sometimes I take what I know about the person and incorporate it. The point I'm getting at is there is no prefabricated universe involved in TUtBL that I would need to editout.
In addition to these thoughts, I must say up front that I would never ask anyone to pay for a story they could read for free, so I'm not asking if you would buy a printed, "original" version of TUtBL, I just want to know if anyone thinks this is a thing I should do.
I /could/ do it. I may at least edit it and submit it (whether it would be accepted for publication or not is an entirely different ball-game). The question I'm pondering is whether I /should./
