PERSONALITY » Yun Ji has a couple of different sides to her. There is the yun ji you see behind the scenes, the yun ji on stage, and the yun ji in front of the cameras.
yun ji behind the scenes is just yun ji. Introverted is usually the first word that comes to mind. She prefers solitude over the company of many. She isn't keen on socalizing, but she is good at pretending. Being introverted, she spends a lot of time reading, learning and absorbing. She is detached from the real world, focusing more on her own fantasy land. growing up, moving around a lot, she had perfected the art of being detached. she has seen the world at the worst, and rarely at it's best, leaving her with her cynical and negitive outlook. Sarcasm is usually her method of defense. She learned how to perfect it while in america.
Being constantly uprooted from places she had come to love, she had put everything into her music. Independent, she wanted to learn everything by herself. Not one who will ask for help. While she had lessions in dance, she learned how to sing and play guitar herself.
Yun ji on stage and on camera are very similar. The only difference is that being on camera stresses her out more. She isn't fond of cameras, just the fact that it is living proof of that moment, and if will be around forever to haunt her if she messes up kinda screws with her mind.
The more meticulous and elloquent side of Yunji comes out with the camera and on stage. everything is rehersed, memorized, and practiced even before she walks on stage. She will work until it looks natural. it has been trained into her since she was young. She must practice everything. failure is not an option. this brings out her tense, ocd, workaholic nature.

BACKGROUND » Yunji was born on december 3, 1995 in South korea, only five years later she was up rooted from her home she had come to love, to move to the united states, more specifically alexandria virigina. with her father being apart of the ministry of foreign affairs and trade, he did a lot of traveling for long periods of time. She was only in virgnia for three years before she had to move again, and this time, all the way to tokyo, japan. She spent eight years in japan, before moving back to korea, with her father retiring from politics.
When she was four, her parents enrolled her into ballet classes, and continued to keep her in dance, making sure to put her in the most elite classes that were offered nearby. Money was never a concern for yunji. When she was ten, she went to the school's talent show. She didn't participate, but just watching the people with their passion for whatever they were doing sparked something in Yunji. With dance, she tried harder, but it wasn't enough. She was a good student, but she knew that wasn't it. That's when she was introduced to the guitar by a friend. when she wasn't dancing, she would be dilligantly working on her guitar. Her parents offered to get her lessions, but she turned it down. She wasnted to do it herself. When she moved back to korea, she was encouraged by many of her friends in japan to audition to become a kpop star. her father wasn't very happy with the idea. He would have rather her continued with her education and dancing, or try a career in politics. Her mother was very happy for her and loved the idea. I mean, all the more to brag about. A classically trained dancer specializing in ballet but having good skills in contemporary dance and hip hop, good student, good with languages and a famous singer, what else could beat that? She auditioned for many companies, but her style didn't really fit well with what they were looking for. spending so much time in japan, her styl leaned more towards that you would see in jpop/jrock. she was hoping a company like fnc or something simiar would pick her up, but it didn't happen. She continued with her enducation, like her father wanted. but whenever the chance aroused, you would find her in line ready to audition. She wanted to do something for herself, to show everyone what music had done for her.

HABITS » When she is nervous, she tends to play with the jewlery on her hand. She chews on the ends of her pens when thinking. She only uses pens, she hates pencils. She never looks directly at the camera, she will either look to the side, below or above it, and it is usually to the side or above. when it comes to money, she usually only uses cash, and it faces all the same way in her wallet.

REASON FOR JOINING TKD » Yunji's reason for joining tkd is mainly to prove to others that she can do it. music is a passion that she wants to show to everyone. Like the talent show she went to, that inspired her, she wants to do that to others. To help them realize their dreams. she wants to be her own person, and not known because of her dad. It would have been easy enough to throw around his name to get into a company. She wants to do it herself.
