*It's what's playing at the moment. Hana Kimi ftw.

This is just a random blog post, really. I want to tell you guys, just how much I love going to secondhand bookshops and finding treasures there. I remember finding Shadow of the Wind and The Help before. Recenly, I, too, found Murakami's Sputnik Sweetheart and The Book Thief. I already have a copy of the latter, but decided to buy another one, considering my original copy isn't in my hands at the moment.

I'm not entirely sure how to put it, but there is a sense of fulfillment when you find a paperback you've been looking for at a very cheap price. And I've to admit I love the scent of used books. The crisp, fresh scent it has. And I also have the tendency to wonder how the original owner is faring. If they're still around, or if they, at one point, loved what they read.

Things like that.

I've yet to find a paperback with a dedication on it, though.

Same! I just went to a secondhand bookshop and the mere sight of used books all piled up can make me grin like an idiot.

I had that thought too. The books are there because they disliked what they read or because they loved it so much that they want to share the experience with other people.

Hana Kimi's one of my favorite mangas :) I'm reading Ao Haru Ride and Hirunaka no Ryuusei and they're both so cute, I'm going to die from fluff overload. And used bookstores are lovely, especially now that I'm in college and have no money for books. I haven't found one with a dedication either, but that definitely would be special :)

I love reading books too... It gives you an atmosphere of calmness, allowing you to distance yourself from reality and dive into the fake world that you seemingly created.
The book thief is a great book, but sad and complicated to read.

Ohhh someone who read "The Shadow of the wind" *~* that book is perfection (well at least to me), definitely my favourite. i've read Sputnik Sweetheart as well and just like Kafka on the Shore, it confused me a looot but that's Murakami for you :P.
I know the feeling of buying secondhand books and it's just wonderful..too bad it happens rarely since I usually don't find lots of titles that inspire me.
This year I've read only two books :"( (shame on meee) but I'm planning to read more this summer ^~^ (just randomly talking about me on your blog post, sorry ;P)
P.S. Even though I've literally posted just one comment on "Winter Child", I loooove the story and your style is amazing (forever shipping Kaistal ;P)

OH EM! That was the first thing I thought after seeing the title. Hana Kimi <3

I like to go to secondhand bookshops to find a book with a dedication written on it. It feels special...
