I actually wrote the following as a comment to a poll made on Kris's lawsuit. I thought that this would be perfect as the blog post rather than having to write it again when this is how I really feel on the subject.

Yes EXO's motto is, "We are one. We are Exo," but this is a violation of human rights. SMENT has already messed up Hangeng, and the least we can be grateful for is that Kris isn't at the point where SM has forced him into working so hard that he's ended up at the hospital(I hope). There were vague rumors about this for about a month. He's not even technically being selfish, because these are things that should've been addressed BEFORE Exo debuted. It's been over 2 years since then, so the issues that he wanted to deal with probably accumulated to the point that he wanted to terminate his contract. And for those who are in denial, the Court has already confirmed that he's submitted a lawsuit, which is currently in the works. Kris could either leave EXO with his freedom peacefully, be thrown out of EXO without the rights of a human and without the money he's earned, or still be in EXO with a renewed and better contract. About 0.3% of this crisis, is also Kris's fault, because:
1) It's smack dab in the middle of Overdose promotions
2) EXO's popular, really popular
3) He should've spoke up sooner
But, it's still mostly SMENT's fault. We should be supporting him, not trying to convince him to stop what he's doing. We want Kris. We want the EXO with Kris, but what if this happens again? What if YOUR bias wants to leave because something unjust has happened to them? Wouldn't you want to support them? Stop being brats and deal with the fact that Kris is an adult. One who can choose what rights he wants to control and which he "wants" forced away from him.
