I don't think there's really a set word count. Write as much as you need to in order to fully develop the story arc. If that's 1854 words, that's fine. If it's more, that's fine, too ^_^

I just finished writing a one-shot for my request shop (my first one!) and it came out to about 3000 words, but I tend to be a really descriptive writer and so my scenes are usually longer than most.
