Well, Kazu is not as fashionable as his sister. While Kiriko tends to fuss a lot about clothes, he will picks the clothes he prefers and find something that matches with it, up to date or not. Even so, he still has an eye for fashion and a bit picky. He describes his style as the 'classy worker' style , revolving around sweaters, shirt, trousers, chinos and classy shoes. That, or he'd settle down with t-shirt and jeans. Aside from the classy worker, Kazu also describes his style as 'manly' or 'macho', his favourite is denim. He doesn't really like skinny jeans and he often asks fashion tips to his sister. Oh, and he loves a good amount of bracelet on his wrists.

Appearance:
While Kiriko inherits her father's japanese traits, Kazu inherits his mother's Korean traits, with the slightly glazed eyes and his mother's lips. It's hard to find the similarity between the brother and sister except their eyebrows. Nevertheless, he's quite tall and his body is fit. The boy has good abs and built muscle due to the years he spent by swimming in the beaches of Okinawa (How his skin is still white is a mystery). His hair is dyed dark brown and he loves to spike it. He doesn't have any piercings but he has a small, simple crucifix tattoo on his right upper back.

Funny
Like his younger sister, Kazu is a very funny lad. He's even more of a prankster than his sister. If Kiriko only teases other by words, Kazu will tease his colleagues by words AND acts. Nevertheless, he's the kind of guy you should see when you're having a bad day and in need of an enlightenment. You'll either laugh because his jokes are very funny, or cry in frustration because his jokes are so corny. In short, he's the jokester one, the class clown.
Jealous
Similar to Kiriko, he dislikes seeing other who are better than him. Thankfully, Kiriko is a girl so nobody would try to compare the two, if not, Kazu will be jealous of Kiriko's dancing skill, of course. His jealousy leads to an overly competitive traits. He knows it's stupid but it's hard not to see your fellow trainees as another competitor you have yet to beat. He enjoys the feeling of winning and will do anything (legal) to win or achieve his goals. If he were to be put in groups, he'll be most likely pissing the other members off by scolding those who do mistakes at dancing, I mean, hey, not all people is as good as you in dancing, okay? Chill, dude. But that's just him and no matter how hard he tries to change this trait, he can't.
Carefree
Some dudes start to bash on him? Being discriminated because he's Japanese? Being mocked constantly because of his racial background? Hah, it doesn't affect him at all. He wonders why, but those kind of words never really have negative effects on him, it just push him to do better. He's always seem so upbeat, fresh and happy and that's because he doesn't put too much thought about what people say about him. His wisdom is, "There are numerous of dumb people in this world who judges people easily and the best respond you can give is not responding at all. It's useless to fight against dumb people, they'll always think they're right, even when they're wrong."
Dependable
Being the firstborn (and a male) really makes him a dependable guy. Kazu is definitely the guy who'll let you cry on his shoulder. He's very responsible towards things that are handed to him and he treats his family with care. He's the guy you would run to when you're in a dire situation, or when you just simply need to borrow a penny. Kazu is also the one who would protect his loved ones when they are being treated poorly by others. And he's also very polite to everyone, just like Kiriko. Even though sometimes he makes mistakes because of the complex Korean culture, he will try to show people that he respects them.
Cocky
Well, he's not really that arrogant. Kazu knows he has the looks and talents and his great body is also a plus. He may not show it much but you can always know his cockiness from how he would praise himself sometimes like, "Yeah, right, I'm obviously better." and how eager he is when someone told him to list his charms. It's not that bad yet but still irritating. You can say that he's a little bit of a hypocrite because "he will try to show people that he respects them." while on the inside, it's possible that Kazu will probably think that he's better than them.
Determined
When he first got to Starship, some of the trainees are discriminating him because of his racial background, did that slow him down? No, he's way too competitive for that. Instead, Kazu trains even more to prove his worth and to prove them wrong. He doesn't like to be discriminated (Who the hell does?) and he'll show them his way. Anyway, Kazu is not the type of person who'll back down easily, so he'll try and try again, like for example, even when he had already memorized the dance moves for a whole song and already good at it, Kazu would practise it over and over again so he could be perfect. The hater's words never brush him off and he rarely gets down because of their bashings. He has goal and he'll do everything (legal) to achieve his goals.

Background:
Kazuya, or Kazu, was born on January 29th 1992. Pretty much like Kiriko, he has a decent family, a parents who are strict and set high bars for their children, but aside that, he has a nice family. His pre-debut life was pretty much okay, nothing special, except that sometimes his father would give him a pain in the by setting high standards for his grades. He wasn't as bright as Kiriko in studying so he found it hard keeping his grades good.
He first showed interest in dance when he was in junior high. One of his friends, Sora, was a bboy and it amazed him and quickly asked his friend to taught Kazu the dance moves. It wasn't that hard and Kazu was pleased to know that he has talent in dancing. Junior high was also the place where he first learned Kendo. Anyways, he and Sora became closer through dancing and the two created their own dance crew, ghettogroovers (Looking back, Kazu thought the name was very ridiculous) along with other dance kids from the school. They didn't make much progress, since dance wasn't really a thing in Japan back then, even so, the crew would sometimes meet up and coreograph a dance of their own.
His family moved to Korea when he was 18 due to his father's job. Unlike Kiriko, Kazu quickly adjusted to Korean lifestyle and was better in learning Korean than his sister, though sometimes he would forgot that in Korea, his name is Ahrang, not Kazu. Anyways, a few month after he settled down in Korea, the guy was scouted by Starship. He then auditioned and was accepted and he told none of the news above to his family. Kazu finally told his family after Starship announced that he's now an official Starship trainee. They were furious, of course. What about his studies? Can he handle the harshness of the entertainment industry? Can he even handle the tight competition? The hectic schedule? Heck, would he even got the chance to be debuted? Nevertheless, he managed to reassure his parents that being a dancer (especially a dancer in a Kpop group) was his dream. He promised that he'll try his best and yadda yadda yadda and finally, his parents agreed and as the time passed, his parents supported him.

Personality:
Kenzo is a bit strict towards his children. Well, every parents want their child to succeed, right? So that's only normal. He sets high expectations for his children and polished their children to be a person that won't give up easily. That being said, you can see that Kenzo is a determined person, a person who works hard for the sake of his family. He's still a caring father who'd buy his kids mantou or ramen on his way home, even when he's dead tired.
Interaction:
Kenzo and Kazu's relationship is pretty much like the normal father son relationship. The two loves to spend time together and can talk about everything, from sport to politics and other craps. Sometimes his father will give Kazu a hard time with his high expectations and standards, nevertheless, Kazu respects the man. Sometimes, Kenzo would call Kazu to have idle talk, like "How was your day? How was your training today?" or "Do you know about the uprising in Thailand?" or " to see Manchester United lose again, eh? David Moyes is very stupid for goodness' sake."

Personality:
Well, Kiriko's emotional traits basically comes from her mother. Jinhee is less demanding from Kenzo, but that doesn't mean she's less strict. Jinhee is the type of mother who would fuss over the high electric bills and the stain on your white shirt, but that just underlined how caring she is towards her children. Jinhee is also funny, often cracks jokes, most of them are corny to the point where Kiriko and her brother would sometimes feel embarassed.
Interactions:
Jinhee will often scold Kazu because he's probably the main reason why the electric bill is so high. The dude can actually spend 24 hours sitting in front of TV, playing games with no parts of his body moving except his fingers, eyelids, mouth and nostrills. She also often scolds Kazu because he's always causing chaos and havoc in the house hold. Really, Jinhee is like the tyrant and Kazu is the rebel. Even so, Kazu loves his mother a lot and he loves to mother even more when she's angry, especially at him.

Personality:
Kiriko is emotional and indecisive, she really inherits her mother's traits unlike Kazuya. Nevertheless the two resembles each other a lot, despite the lack of physical similarities. Both are fun, eager to help, polite and they apparently shares the very same negative trait and that is jealousy.
Interactions:
Like I've said, Kiriko is emotional and indecisive. Because of this, Kazu thinks that his sister is still immature and that makes him even more protective around her. He often prays that someday, Kiriko will be able to decide for herself and not to rely on her emotions too much, those things can be a big flaw, especially in the entertainment industry. He will always makes time to prepare Kiriko emotionally, teaching her about the idol world (even though he's still a trainee) and how to cope with haters. He's also very curious about Kiriko's love life, he'll say "If a man comes up and asks you on a date, I'll choke him right away. He'll have to go through me first. If I say he's not good for you, then he's really not good for you." and all that crap, which sometimes Kiriko finds annoying. Aside all that, the two are partners in crime, especially in making their mother angry and Kazu also loves to tease Kiriko for his own personal entertainment.

Personality:
Short-tempered yet a teaser at the same time. Joonha is the type of dude who'll tease you to the pits of hell but gets angry when you back. That's why Kazu takes pleasure in teasing him and making him angry. Nevertheless, Joonha is very supportive and loyal friend and he stays with Kazu through thick and thin.
Interactions:
The two are often seen playing games together, practising together and eating together, the amount of bromances they have is infinite. The two are so close to the point where Kazu's home is Joonha's home and Joonha's family is Kazu's family and vice versa. Joonha loves to tease Kazu by saying he'll ask Kiriko out or sometimes he'll flirt with Kiriko, Kazu will always kick his shin each time Joonha does that.

Personality :
Hyunseung is a very caring guy, he cares a lot about s and he has bright personality. He's a bit quiet but it's the kind that'll make you feel comfortable around him. He's a bit shy, especially on cameras and he has a thing for food. Okay, not a thing, you can say that if he can marry food, he'll probably will.
Interactions:
Kazu and Hyunseong are more of acquaintances than friends, but the two get along well. He's able to make the quiet Hyunseong roars with laughter and sometimes they'd meet up to go food hunting. Hyunseong loves to read book and he'll sometimes give a good book references to Kazu, though he'll most likely put the book on his bedside table, untouched. But nevertheless, they get along well.

Personality:
Most people see her as the snob queen, the rude girl, the idol with attitude problem. But in truth, she is a good person who cares a lot about her members, her friends and especially her sister. It's not that she's rude, she just doesn't like being fake, she'd rather voice her own thoughts than saying lies. Krystal is shy, she doesn't know how to act around people she doesn't know really well which sometimes people misinterpret as her being arrogant and cocky. She's not a snob, she's actually nice and loves to encourage other SM trainees to do well, but nobody seems to realize it and after being called snob over and over again, she just gives up trying.

First meeting:
Well, Kiriko obviously has a huge role on this one. She obviously knows how Kazu always looks forward to f(x)'s comeback and how often he compliments Krystal and how often he asks how Krystal is doing through Kiriko. So she sets up a plan.
That time, Kiriko asked Kazu to pick her up at the SM building and Kazu complied, without knowing that Kiriko was hanging out with Krystal that time. When he arrived at SM, bam! Kiriko greeted him with Krystal on her side. He's either going to punish Kiriko or thank her after that. Nevertheless, Kiriko introduced him to Krystal with a 'grin' and said, "This is my brother!" Krystal then smiled and introduced herself while Kazu tried hard not to embarass himself. The two exchanged phone numbers and kakao id (Kiriko's idea, honestly).

Interactions:
They don't see each other a lot, but Kiriko always manages to make a time where the three or two (Kazu and Krystal, of course) meet. They will talk about lots of things and Kazu will always cracks jokes that'll make Krystal's stomach hurts. Sometimes, Krystal even joins Kazu in his pranks. Their target is mostly Kiriko. Sometimes the two would also watch movies in the dorms or having lunch together, thanks to delivery services, but they rarely meet up in public. They don't want to cause any controversy and scandal and the two isn't really a fan of romantic gestures. But that doesn't stop Kazu in showing a little act of kindness. He supports Krystal in her drama and he constantly tells her how he's looking forward to f(x) 's comeback. He often tells Krystal not to overwork herself, remembering how she's not a stranger to fainting on stages and he'll always try to cheer her up when she's in a bad mood, he doesn't care if he embarass himself, or even when the only response he gets from Krystal is an annoyed glare. Aside from that, you can't really find something romantic between the two, it's hard, but the two supports each other nonetheless.

{ Sharp moves } Unlike Kiriko who's moves are more towards graceful and soft, Kazu's move is sharp and powerful due to his years practising kendo. His body is as lithe as Kiriko, but once again, his moves are far more powerful.

His trainee life wasn't all that bad, compared to his sister. Sure there were somet rainees who discriminated him because of his racial backgrounds but Kazu never put too much thought into it. Instead, he befriended Park Joonha. Joonha helped him a lot with socializing with other trainees. Yes, he masters Korean easily but sometimes he might slipped into japanese or misspell a word and Joonha was always there to help him out.
Being the overly competitive guy he is, Kazu practises his dance a lot and was acknowledged because of his skills. Sure there were other all-rounder trainee but he's still one of the top students in dance class. Some people were jealous of him, especially since he seems to like all the attention he got and how his cockiness will appear from time to time, but Kazu never got into any trouble and the staffs were fond of him because of his politeness.
