It's about the heart:

Traits:

+ clever, intelligent

+ loyal, caring

- secretive, paranoid

- temperamental

+/- excellent liar

Personality:

clever, intelligent: Lily has always been a rather smart person, and she has developed a knack for being able to come up with a plan in a pinch. Her extra brain power is likely what helped her to be able to learn Korean as a second language and pick it up as quickly as she did.

loyal, caringShe is fiercely loyal, nearly to a fault, which is what pulled her into the trouble with her brother. She also has a strong sense to protect the people she cares about, and she will gladly put their needs before her own.

secretive, paranoid: Not a surprising trait given her past, she has this idea that the people who were looking for her will somehow manage to find her in her new home. Because of this, she has a tendency to push people away before they can get close to her, mainly because she fears the worst-case scenario and that they really wish to do her harm.

temperamental: Just like the stereotypical redhead, she has an almost scary temper, though she does a fairly good job of keeping it pushed down. However, when she does snap, it is usually messy and involves screaming, cursing, and, on rare occasions, violence.

excellent liarLily has developed a skill of being able to lie straight through her teeth, even to the people who think they know her well. She actually looked up the telltale signs of lying and taught herself to control them when she was being untruthful, which helped when she was dealing with certain things from her past.

Background:

I was born in Atlanta to parents who were originally from Edinburgh, Scotland, and my brother was three years older than me. My family moved to Miami when I was four so that my father could get a better job there. Everything was pretty normal for those years when I was growing up; my brother always looked out for me, all through elementary and middle school, and we were really close.

But as I got older, I noticed a change in my brother. He was becoming withdrawn from me and our parents and spending more and more nights away from home. When he graduated from high school at eighteen, he didn't go into college immediately like he had been planning to, which really scared my parents. He was getting worse, and it didn't seem like there was much any of us could do to help him.

When I turned eighteen (he was 21 at the time), I finally got up the nerve to follow him to wherever he was disappearing to at night. I found out that he had become involved with the illegal drug trade in the city and had joined a cartel. I nearly got caught by one of the goons, but I grabbed a knife that was lying on the ground nearby and defended myself. I could only imagine what his intentions would be with a teenage girl, but all I remember was slashing out at him blindly when he tried to attack me. I think I must have hit something vital because he fell to the ground immediately, but I also didn't stick around to find out the consequences of my actions. I rushed home, but I locked myself in my room for the entire weekend, where I resolved not to tell my parents about what had happened for fear that my brother would find out and someone would be sent to silence me.

The next month was extremely stressful, trying to keep this secret from my parents and not allow my brother to find out that I knew what he was doing or what I had done. I was terrified, even in my own home, but I somehow managed to graduate, and with honors no less. After graduation, I approached my parents about continuing my studies in South Korea, especially since I had shown such an interest in the culture for years and had become fluent in the language through my classes. They agreed, and after a summer that went by in a blur, I found myself in South Korea, setting up to study my dream major in a new country, far away from the problems of my past, though they were still fresh in my mind.

Love is in the air:

Love interest: Huang Zitao

Personality (explain on what's already there): Tao has always seemed like the quiet, reflective type of person, and he doesn't speak very much in front of other people. He tends to keep to his thoughts for the most part, but he has a temper that is borderline terrifying. Occasionally, he voices certain thoughts of his that actually frighten others, though he is usually in a certain mood when this happens. He is skilled in multiple forms of martial arts, and he is currently studying architecture, which seems to be his creative outlet besides fighting. He seems to care about those closest to him, but he would be a frightful enemy to have.

Back-up love interest (not from exo): Jung Daehyun of B.A.P

Love rival (can be girl or guy): your choice~

How you met:

I remember when I first saw Tao; he was sweaty from a session of practicing wushu, and I couldn't help but think how intimidating and somehow attractive he looked. I was discussing moving into the apartment with Kris and Suho in a cafe, and Tao just walked in and pulled a chair up to the table without a word. The other two guys acted like this was the most normal thing in the world, but I was completely thrown off and just managed to stutter through the rest of the conversation before we made the deal.

Early feelings (your feelings when you first met):

He had already caught my attention with his silent entrance, but as I got to know him more, his personality intrigued me. He wasn't distant with me in particular at the beginning; it was pretty much how he treated everyone unless he had something he needed to say. I felt like I was drawn to his silence, like it was the sort of peace and thughtfulness that I needed in my life. At the same time though, he made me nervous, his occasional dark thoughts reminding me of the men who haunted my dreams and threatened to come find me eventually.

Future (do you want to end up with him or twisted ending):

I would love for these two to end up together eventually; their personalities feel like they would balance each other out. At the same time, though, I feel like there would be a good number of fights along the way since they both have pretty unstable tempers. But in the end, I think he would want to protect her from the nightmares and the thought of the cartel coming after her and her secret, as well as helping her through the fact that she could have killed someone.

  • a date to somewhere in nature, maybe Namsan if that's possible
  • awkward moments early on because he doesn't speak much
  • at least one fight where they get a little rough with each other but end up resolving the problem

Thank you!
