Something important

Hello AFF readers, writers, bloggers, designers, etc. (+ AFF owner),

This is asianunknown,

1st of April- the day when you play pranks on others- went and 4 days later is a special day for you, guys. If you guessed what day it is, then you sure must be excited because it’s Asianfanfics’ 5th anniversary!!! Which is today!!!

There is this AFFHelper who plan an event which tell us that it is going to continue for a whole week ( 31st March- 6th April). They suggested us to write a fiction of how we discovered this site or something connected to the anniversary with # AFF5Years.

I’m not going to write a whole story of my adventure here even if it’s an ‘’one-shot’’ because this takes a lot of time to create and I’m still occupied with other stories ( I’ve thought of lots of fanfics I could write and am still thinking of their plots.) so I’m going to tell you a brief summary of finding this wonderful Asianfanfics.

It all started with Youtube-the incredible site of videos and Youtubers. I was searching for Sunggyu and Myungsoo- anything about them ( MVs, films, commercials, funny videos) since I was bored. And suddenly I came across to a video which entitles ‘’Really You/ Why You? ’’. At first I thought it was some kind of live show but when I watched the clip, I figured out that it was a fanfic video, a trailer by an unknown person [ like I knew anyone in Youtube ( personally)]. It was made beautiful and caught my attention hard since it featured my biases! At the description box below, I saw ‘’Asianfanfics’’. I decided to click on their profile of that site and my first impression was that the upper part of it was green, designed plainly but that’s what I like about ‘’Asianfanfics’’. There were many categories of types of stories, writers, polls, advertisements, featured fanfics. Incredible! I signed up on 21.04.2013, 16 days after its 4th anniversary. I didn’t know its invention back then but later on I checked at the bottom of the ‘’page’’ and got to know about everything. At first, I was only reading fanfics but later made a decision that I would begin writing a story. Before discovering the site I always write diaries, reviews, summaries, essays but what I enjoyed writing the most were stories. I’m a typical daydreamer and I always thought of a situation between certain people ( mostly K-pop idols XD). I would always ask myself:’’ What if this happened? Would that happening really fit the situation?’’. And I wanted to show someone my creations, not just myself because it would be boring if only I knew. I didn’t really liked the idea to present my stories to my friends either because they don’t know the world of K-pop so much or they wouldn’t understand me. That’s why I figured out a way to share my thoughts. I know that most of you also feel the same as I do, so I tried to walk in your shoes and realize my wish. By writing my stories in Asianfanfics, not only would I get readers to see my writings but also reduce writing in my notebooks. It’s a little horrifying to do it there because I was afraid that they would end to do so and I would have to buy more ( I’m thrifty and I’m too lazy to go to the bookstore.). Nevertheless, this site is very unique, providing everybody with what they have, satisfying their needs and making them happy.

My current stories are only 2. One of them featuring Myungsoo (Infinite) as a main while the other-Chanyeol(EXO). If you haven’t subscribed, befriended, upvoted or commented, then do it. I will love you forever if you do so and I’ll appreciate you. I promise I won’t disappoint you in any way. And no rude comments, you’ll be banned, you know. Try to be good and they’ll return you with good. I will try to update the chapters when I have time. I don’t know if I’ll update today but still stay tuned to the storylines and wait patiently, OK?

I love so much Asianfanfics! It is one of my most important things in my life ( I’m not exaggerating.). Without it I wouldn’t be very hyper for the past year if I haven’t been sharing my stories with you, guys. If I didn’t meet this site, I would be very depressed since I’m an introvert and I might annoy you with this long update right now. I don’t really tell my feelings to the others, even with my family due to my shyness and the fact that they may mock me or even worse, not listening to me. So my only comfort is Asianfanfics whether I feel sad or bored or happy but can’t share my joy with the others. It also gave me the opportunity to show me plenty of fanfics which are perfectly written or with grammatical errors or typos. There are some writers that complain about the fact that their grammar isn’t good enough for the readers to…read or even understand. I’ll tell you what. For me, personally, it’s not important the mistakes, it’s the way of writing that must intrigued the public. When the plot is interesting for your readers, you have to know that they really appreciate your hard work. So don’t worry about such minor things. One day, your fanfic might be one of the ‘’featured’’ stories for the week! Also, the posters! I didn’t really recognize them at first because I always thought that they were made by their own authors ( I can’t use Photoshop even if I went to bonus lessons about it, I haven’t use it for a long time) but when I checked the name of the designers, I found that they weren’t ( or are they?). I’ve finally decided that I’ll request one for each of my fanfics. It was stupid of me to ask for a poster from a closed graphic shop but I learned my lesson. I didn’t request for a video trailer or review because I think it’s a waste of time. Posters are enough!

How I chose the name of my username? It’s simple. I’m Asian so I wanted to show my race. Also, since I’m quiet and don’t like being in the center of attention, I decided to put ‘’unknown’’ next to ‘’asian’’. And that’s how it was created. My favorite things in this fantastic site are…everything, actually. I’m satisfied with the provided, no complaining about anything. And for the future, I would want an improved version of AFF app because there are things that AFF original site possess but the app doesn’t. It would be good for everybody to have one.

   Remember:

  1.  Read the fanfics you love until you get tired of them.
  2.  The requests from your authors are optional ( unless you have to). If you ask me, then I’ll say that if you feel like doing it, just do it. No one’s forcing you to do anything.
  3.  The most important thing: Have fun! You read to make yourself happy, sad, other emotions, too. Enjoy your time being in Asianfanfics. When you see your bias’s name in a story, read it and decide if you continue doing it. Not every fanfic will provide your needs, and, on the other hand, there are such writings that won’t let you be engaged with other stuff until you read it till the end…

Guys, I warn you that I’m not really being myself. My psycho self is on, I haven’t drunk anything that contains alcohol today. I swear! It’s just that this is a special occasion and I am so enthusiastic that you may find errors in this update since I’m shaking while writing this.

I hope you enjoyed this update ( or not) and wish you a good day… OH! How could I forget?! Silly me!... Happy 5th year anniversary to AFF!!! Make sure to put #AFF5Years in the comments of every story you read and find and write something connected to this day! Thank you for reading this ‘’speech’’ of mine. It’s still spring break so I’ll go celebrate with anything I get my hands on. I won’t break things, I promise! Bye!!!-asianunknown.
