The Holidays Make Me Look Like Scrooge's Evil Twin

I'm going to start actually writing blog titles because...I am...

It is a little past midnight, and I can't sleep because I have insomnia. If you have read a previous blog, you'd know that I am a total insomniac. This week was especially awful because my teachers are insane. They got me all stressed about exams the week before break so that I spent all of last week going on a freak attack that kept me up forever. There was a period of three days where I never slept at all, but I finished all my projects and homework and bull a week in adavance.

That was the upside.

The downside is the stress withdrawl. I now have no reason to be stressed, so I'm stuck in stress-purgatory where I have no stress yet all the symptoms of stress. It's fantastic... I've only gotten nine hours of sleep in the past two weeks.

Lucky me...

Oh, and I'm also a Scrooge. I despise the Holidays. The Holidays are a four-month period of unneeded stress that make me want to shoot myself in the head. Let me simplify...

Stress = No sleep

No sleep = Crankiness

Crankiness = Low tolerance

Low tolerance = Little brother, Aidan, getting his annual right hook

My little brother, who's ten now, still has not learned that he should not wake up an insomniac whilst she is sleeping. It'll be eight in the morning, I--having fallen asleep maybe twenty minutes beforehand--would like to be undisturbed. Aidan will come skipping into my room, shake me, then find a fist colliding with his femur. He'll limp away, and we shall wait another 365 days for this to occur again.

Moral of the story: Don't mess with an insomniac. No matter what you may think, insomniacs value sleep more than they value you. It doesn't matter if you're their soulmate. Anyone who disrupts the haven that is sleep shall be made to be a Christmas ornament to be laughed at while they're shivering on the roof pretending to be a light-up elf while it snows/sleets snowflakes/icebergs in -15 degree weather.

...I neep a nap...
