Asianfanfic and Asianfanficsfail issue.

So recently, there has been an issue going on with some of the users on AFF and the tumblr blogs Asianfanfic + Asianfanficsfail. If you don't know what  Asianfanfic + Asianfanficsfail are, they're blogs that feature some of the fails/mistakes in stories on AFF.

A lot of the users here have been deeply offended because their stories are posted up on the blog. It's ok to be offended, but some of the comments made towards these blogs are just over-the-top.

I am a follower of both blogs and I have read every single post made by them. I don't get the hate. The bloggers clearly didn't bash any of the stories, but merely gave critque on it. Most of the stuff written on the blogs are very reasonable and I really don't understand why they're getting so much hatred for it.

I've seen many comments with the use of jealousy as an excuse. Please for the love of this world, STOP USING JEALOUSY AS AN EXCUSE! This doesn't only apply to the comments made towards the blog, but comments made on the internet in general. How in the world do you know the person is so called "jealous?" Unless you're a mind reader or whatnot, stop calling others jealous over the internet. It's stupid, irrelevant, and most importantly, it doesn't make sense.

Yes, they can be considered haters, but are you going to call everyone who gives constructive criticism a hater? I understand they give criticism in a mean way, but how else would everyone be entertained? Criticism is criticism. It's either you learn from it or you just take it to a brand new level.

Stop acting as if you know the bloggers personally. To call them a loner or loser with no life? How are you so sure they're who you label them to be? What makes you any better? Aren't you posting up hate comments towards them? Doesn't that make YOU a no life? Last time I checked, none of them were posting anything bad. They didn't call anyone a , loser, er, etc, but instead, all those comments were given and directed towards them.

Guys, it's time to grow up. You're going to grow up and have a job and stuff like this won't affect you anymore. You probably heard this one a lot before, but you're going to get a job and a boss who will criticize everything you do. You can learn from the criticism or you can tell him to off and lose your job.

I really feel bad for these bloggers because they can't even give critque without being yelled at. You posted up your story on a public website. You posted it up for everyone to view. You can't expect everyone to love your story and wouldn't it be better to know the flaws in your stories and fix them? Hate me for saying this all you want, but it's not going to change my view. Please stop all the hate because it doesn't make the blogger haters, it makes you haters.

I wish I could kiss you through the screen. But I can't. Good fics are SOOOOOOOOO hard to find here on AFF. :( Wish people took constructive criticism a little more positively.

Hope you don't mind me commenting ^^

I do know those people have the right, to post that blog; and I don't use the excuse 'they're just jealous' anymore. But you know what I say?

'Don't judge someone elses writing, if your writing isn't good either'.

I haven't seen any stories posted by the people that run that site; and I'm a little hurt because many of my favorite author's and best-friends stories are on their.

I can understand their giving criticism, but I know how the author's feel about having their story criticized. I used to take criticism horribly, but now I welcome it somewhat as long as they aren't bashing my story full out, I don't care if I see mine on that site.

It'll just give me the drive, to work harder on my stories not sit and cry about it because I got bashed on.

Somehow, I think the author's thoughts when their fanfic is posted is like this --->
I spent so much time and effort on this fic, and YOU, come and critic it, seriously, when you bash me, I get hurt you know ! I'm actually planning to delete my crappy story and leave AFF ! If you didn't like it upon seeing the title, why even bother to continue reading it in the first place ! Some people just don't like it when others say that their writing skills are horrible you know :/ Anythin to say on my opinion ? Don't bash me >o< Cause that's how I feel =.=

to be honest, i don't like that people are completely lashing out on either side. both parties have the right to their own opinions but only some are taking it over the top. i shifted through some of it and i didn't see any of it written about my stories (yet at least) and it amuses me to see that these people are that vocal towards the stories they don't enjoy. if you don't enjoy it, no need to post it -- just don't read it so you can prevent further argument and inflamed discussion

I'm not sure how I came across this, but I was actually on the asianfanfic tumblr not too long ago, and I must say that I agree with everything you said in this blog post. Those authors who had their stories featured on that tumblr would go and complain, saying that the admins are just "jealous because you don't have as much subscribers as me" <- exact quote.

Like, I don't understand how those authors can even say that the bloggers are jealous. They say that the bloggers shouldn't judge the authors writing and whatnot, but the thing is, they, themselves are judging the bloggers claiming that they are better writers than them, even though they have no idea how the bloggers write like (but judging as to how they respond to the butthurt authors and reading their tips on what not to do, I think it's safe to say that the bloggers are more literate than the authors, but that's just my opinion.)

Most of the authors who have found their stories on that tumblr say that they're not hurt or whatnot, but they go on a full tantrum and create a post or whatnot ranting about how "idiotic" and "jealous" the bloggers are, which is very contradicting on their behalf. -_-

But then again, many of the authors on this site are still young, probably around the ages of 13-14 so it's very rare to find a child around that age mature enough to handle the criticism on that tumblr.

But anyway, I'm glad you shared this because I completely agree with you!
