LIKES:
Cora enjoys reading, writing and telling stories. Her favourite food is cheesecake and absolutely adores blueberry tea. She loves coffee, toffee and vanilla-flavoured things of all sorts. Blue is her favourite colour and her favourite number is 8. She loves going for aimless walks and really enjoys small, local stores rather than retail.
DISLIKES:
Cora hates sleeping with silence, perfumes, and people being close minded about children. She strongly dislikes lizards of any sort, as well as most fish. She won't go near pickles or wool-woven clothes. She dislikes hats strongly and always wears ear muffs. 13 is her unlucky number and will not have anything to do with it.
CHARACTER HISTORY

Cora always had a dream. It was a simple dream. A spinning dial, with crystailline animals moving around it slowly. Steadily. There was an elephant, an ox, a tiger, a horse, an eagle and a lion. In the centre, a bright pink crystal flower glowed. Cora remembers reaching towards it, laughing. She had no idea why she laughed but it burst out of her, like thousands of small bubbles. It was the earliest thing she recalled. That dream.
She's had it for as long as she can remember. However, her parents weren't. She felt detached from them, but immediately recognized the love and affection they had for her. They told stories to her, of princesses and castles. Of white horses and shining knights. It was the thing she loved most: the stories at bedtime. They were dragons and ogres, talking gingerbread men and helpful dwarves. Singing animals and talking trees. Anything was possible at storytime. It fueled her mediocre life.
Throughout elementary school, she'd play make-believe during recess and draw during classes. She had average grades due to her head being stuck in the clouds all the time. She didn't make a lot of friends during this time. She was rather awkward and shy. However, there was a willingness to help when she could that was always there. When someone was crouched in the mud room, hidden inside a cubby crying, Cora would approach them and tell a story. She'd ask questions and create a brand newworld with this person in order to cheer them up. But, she'd never speak to them afterwards; always too shy to approach someone when they didn't need her help.
It wasn't until middle school that she had found her affinity. Her mother worked as a daycare teacher. All help at daycares was appreciated and before long, Cora would pop in after school to help. She volunteered her time to help the children get ready to leave. It was always one of the bigger challenges of being at a daycare. She'd tell a story to the children to calm them down, then clean up the mess after they all left. She knew right then and there that she wanted to be with children all the time.
Throughout high school, she again did not have many friends. But she finally bloomed from a small bud to a beautiful flower. She was no longer too shy to approach people and willingly helped someone whenver she saw fit. It was then that her mother pushed her to get a job outside the daycare. Cora did not have the qualifications yet to get paid and therefore, must earn money another way. Quickly, she applied for a job at a local book store. It was always an ideal for her; surrounded by stories and adventures and romances and fantasies of all shapes and sizes. There were days where she'd be paid just to read and tell customers which books she thought were best. She became more affable, as she always smiled and was always extremely polite. No one knew this little wallflower very well. Not her classmates, not her employer and certainly, not her parents.
She graduated high school with a scholarship to a community college; where she would get her early childhood education degree. Cora was always seen writing though. Writing what, no one knew. But it consumed most of her free time. She has 3 terribly worn out books she has accumulated over her high school and middle school career. She's been working on her 4th one as she attends college and continues to work at the bookstore, as well as volunterring at the daycare. It was the same routine, same events happening every day. She'd be tired by the end of it all.
And she'd dream of crystalline creatures spinning in a circle.

CHARACTER PERSONALITY

Cora is a very dreamy young woman. She enjoys thinking up masterpieces and observing the world. Cora is seen to be rather uncommited. She'll lose track of get-togethers and phone numbers. She'll scrap ideas out of her journals and leave them unfinished. It takes her weeks to finish projects simply because she can't stick to one idea. Her mind is always bouncing off another possibility that could be twice as good. However, this trait of hers can be really annoying at points. She has a very loose memory when it comes to conversations and faces.
However, throw her an idea and keep feeding it to her, encouraging her, she'd never forget it. She needs a little pushing, be it for socializing or getting assignments done. Once she has that right drive, she'd get it done to splendid detail. Because of her age, this trait of hers was supposed to be battered out of her years ago at high school. Unfortunately, it just never happened due to her shy characteristics in high school.
She has a way with words. It's seen through her writing. The few who have seen samples of it are simply amazed by how easily she could illustrate a storm with her scrawled handwriting. However, when it comes to speaking, she finds herself in "awkward word situations". She'd say things the wrong way, swap words (it's meet to nice you) or simply stumble over the same phrase over and over again.
If you can get past this, you'd meet a Cora that no one has really met before. Responsible, caring and affectionate, Cora loves to daydream. If she lets you into her world, be prepared to be awed. Once she feels you are trustworthy enough, she'll show you her journals and take you on walks. She'll philosophize, dream and play with you, much like a child would. It's different, though. There's sort of a grace to the way she dances with ideas. She's actually quite inquisitive and isn't afraid to question things; but, she won't do that with just anyone. She wants to push the limit but she needs someone to push and help her, too. If there's anything Cora's afraid of, it's being utterly alone. No escape, no help, no comfort. That's what alone is to her. And she hasn't found someone who she feels will hold all these things with her as long as she lives. Be it a friend or a lover, that's all Cora wants.
Someone to share her world with completely.
That's why she seems uncommited to do anything that's not school, work or children. It's hard for her to trust anybody. She makes herself not remember faces, due to the fact that she knows how people can be (through books and watching her high school classmates go through drama). She doesn't want to get too attached to anything. It may cloud her judgement, her goals, her responsibilities. After all, she believes her parents aren't even her parents. There was always something more. Something hidden that stops her from trusting anything too much in her life. It's why she has no true friends.
Cora seems unattainable in the same way a fictional character would. No one really knows how to comfort her. But everyone looks up to her in the way she juggles the things that matter most to her. She's awkward first and elegant second.
But, just tell her a story. You never know where that may take you.

LOVE INTEREST
LOVE INTEREST. Kim JOONMYUN "Suho"
AGE. 22/May.22.1991
RELATIONSHIP. curiosity at first sight, love afterwards
PICTURE LINKS:

PERSONALITY. Suho is a considerate, outgoing and hardworking man. He strives to do the best he can do and is sometimes depicted as over-emotional when his hard work becomes a success. But, for a boy who grew up with so many disappointments in life, success was very hard to come by. With his parents split and sister commiting suicide, Suho was used to things not going his way. It wasn't until he discovered a letter to him from his deceased sister that pushed Suho to better his situation. She was forever grateful to him, as he was the only one who could make her smile. Their parents pushing money at her made her cry herself to sleep, always wanting to spend time with them. Of course, they never had time because they were always off making money. His sister wanted to thank him and told him to spread his smile with everyone. He was always forced to stay inside the house; anytime he asked to go outside, he was heavily monitored. Eventually, he just broke away and decided to make his own money. Happier money. And he was happy. He had wonderful friends, a great job and a quaint home. He'd go on adventures with his hardearned money, trying different flavours of life. Spreading his smile everywhere.

MEETING. When Cora is on her walks to nowhere, she stops and watches. Then, she writes. She was huddled up on a bench one day, writing as she peered over at two pigeons nuzzling each other. She's never seen pigeons do that before and it made her wonder what they felt. Suho, whose job is a construction worker, was taking a break from building a gazebo nearby. She sparked his curiosity as he noticed the way she elegantly smiled, much like the way his sister used to. It was a misunderstood smile. And so, mustering his courage, Suho approached the young woman. They sparked an awkward but warm conversation before Cora dismisses herself. She did not realize that she gave away where she worked while they talked. And Suho, now blazing with curiosity, always gets the job done. He never stopped until he was sure of himself and he wanted to find out more about the word-clumsy girl who was actually gracefully coordinated.
