well, i mean you could probably find different tutorials online lol but this is how i did mine. i'm just going to show you guys how i got my exo ones, also prior to this i already have winrar installed on my laptop. you will need winrar to extract the files and you can just go to google and type in "download winrar free" and i can't remember what site i downloaded mine from but i think it was this one. anyways, when installing winrar, make sure to use the custom installation methods and to always click off all that extra stuff they try to make you download too because it's literally just junk and if does still get installed onto your computer than go to your control panel > uninstall programs and uninstall any of the crap that was added on. if you don't know what was added on, just look at the dates. remember you only want to install winrar and not all the extra stuff that may come with it. idk why it does this but now-a-days a lot of things that you may download and install will add on random stuff you didn't sign up for. 

anyways! onto the shimeji part ouo 

i literally just use google for everything. you can use whatever ones you want but i found an aff post for exo shimejis!

after you finish your downloads, they will appear like this

see the little books? the books will only appear if you have winrar. 

 

extract the files here (i made a special shimeji folder for it)

 

after extracting the file, it should appear as a folder

 

there are multiple things when you go into the folder, but you only need to pay attention to two. the application file and the executable jar file.

 

clicking on the application file will open this up, go ahead and click 'run'

 

usually a japanese pop up will show up and say you need to download java. it might be in english, but i seem to get the japanese ones a lot lol. if you don't already have java installed then you'll need to install it (i didnt, so i had to install it too) so go ahead and click yes.

 

you'll get directed to a japanese download site OR it'll be in english. it's just pretty standard so click the big red box

 

then you'll get directed to another page so click the big red box again!

after downloading java, you gotta install it and once again, just like with winrar, it will have other random junk installed too so make sure to use custom methods and uninstall anything random it may install into your computer. it might change your browser settings too so check up on those as well. only install the java program! don't check the boxes for anything else, trust me, you don't need them aside from java.

 

once you have java installed, you can now try working the executable jar file~ after clicking this file, it should take a few seconds and tao will just fall down your screen~ sadly, the only command for tao is to make him go away haha

 

for myungsoo and sungyeol though, it was a bit different because these two are in english and not japanese. i didn't have to use the executable jar file for them, only the application file.

 

so after clicking the application file, click run

 

with tao and lay and kris, i did not get this option page to show up. they just immediately fell from the sky. go ahead and click 'use selected' or 'use all'.

 

and then myungsoo falls from the sky!

 

and right clicking myungsoo will show a multitude of english options~ unlike the exo ones where it's just one japanese command to send them away.

 

i hope this was a helpful guide ;u; im terrible at explaining things but a few of you wanted to know how i did it so here~ im sure not all the exo ones are in japanese, but i only downloaded kris, tao, and lay and those three were in japanese orz myungsoo, sungyeol, and aomine were in english. it's a long process, but it goes by pretty quick and then you have these cuties running around your screen.
