New beginnings are often disguised as painful endings. - Lao Tzu

A light flickered. A fly buzzed. The sizzle of excitement could be felt in the air. It was tangible, tastable. The Creator advanced on the frozen body. If someone were to happen upon the body, they would assume that they were dead, that they had no pulse. The sub zero temperatures chilled The Creator to the core. But she did not care. At this moment, she cared for nothing other than the girl who lay motionless before her.

"Soon," she whispered to herself in a croaking voice. The sound of her vocals scratched along the inside of , paining her. But the pain was bearable. After all, she was too used to it to notice it now.

With a small smirk, she closed the distance, hovering above the limp body. She reached out and the forearm of the female. Perfect, she thought. The perfect one. This one, it is this one. Not taking her eyes off the girl, she reached out to the tray beside her and picked up a silver instrument. It glinted under the light, casting a spot of light on the opposite wall that jumped around erratically.

A boy sighed in the corner as he tossed a beanie bag up in the air, catching it as it began its descent. He refused to look over at the two female and focused solely on his beanie bag, counting the number of successful catches and restarting when he failed to catch it and it fell on his leg.

One, two, three, four, he counted, ignoring the sounds of the clatter of the tools, the tap of a manicured finger on the glass syringe. Questions plagued him. Questions he wanted to know the answers to, yet questions that scared him. It wasn't uncommon for his thoughts to scare him, though. He curled up his nose as the smell wafted over to him and he felt as if he were going to throw up. He wrinkled his brow and tried to think of other things. He thought of the delicious food that would be before him soon; the steam rising and twisting into various shapes as it travelled upwards. His mouth watered and he his lips, wetting his upper one.

His stomach growled and he thumped his midriff. "You're not a dying whale," he muttered to his stomach, before releasing how crazy he was and felt relieved that the two women were both otherwise occupied. He then felt a rush of guilt as he remembered what they were occupied with. "Ruining her life," he sighed, allowing the corners of his mouth to twist up.

He heard the woman make numerous noises, the nature of which soon became apparent. "She's ready," The Creator wheezed, unable to take her eyes of the body. "Has the station been prepped?"

"Yes, ma'am," he said. His voice was low, but it could be heard clearly. He sniffed once and looked at the wall, inspecting the spider slowing climbing with its long, thin legs.

"Excellent." Her voice bounced off the four walls. Time seemed to stand still for a moment. The spider paused. The boy exhaled. The Creator watched. The girl remained motionless. "It is time."

The boy got up and advanced towards the girl. He flinched. She was probably around his age. Maybe older, maybe younger. Her face was too haggard to tell properly. He stood at the foot of the bed and pulled on it. The wheels screeched as they freed and rolled towards him. He huffed and pointed the bed towards two flap doors on the other end.

The doors swung open as he advanced. They were automatic and detected his presence.

"Welcome to Experiment Zero," he muttered as they walked.

Eh a few mistakes here n there thought i'd point it out for you.
"Refused to look over at the two female" should be females
"Youre not a dying whale...releasing how crazy he was" releasing should be realising
And i remembered seeing another error but i seem to have lost it. Oh well.
But otherwise it sounds pretty cool! Totally looking forward to this

"they would assume they were dead" but it's just one body right?
Just a point, no pulse doesn't mean no life :P Like there have been people who have been resuscitated after their hearts have stopped.
*two females
