True Idol: Bang Yongguk

I've always been very aware of many issues around the world. Sometimes though, I get so caught up in my "busy" life, that it takes something really special to bring my attention back to where it needs to be.

No matter the odds against me, or the things I've been through, I remember that there are people out there...children, families....mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters...simply wonderful human beings, that have been through worse. I remember that there are those who live in absolute hell, without care, without happiness. And I remember that sometimes my life really isn't bad. I have to remember that beyond the small reach of my own world, there are people who need help.

I'm actually involved with a few charities myself, mainly those that are Canadian based, but I've realized that I could be doing so much more!

If you're a Baby, or are familiar with the band B.A.P, you probably know that they are quite involved with many notable charities. These boys are so precious.

And I just wanted to share a video with you all.

Unicef, awareness for Africa, aid for war torn countries (and many more campaigns!)--all are contributed to by B.A.P. As of recent, they have been working with disabled children. Honestly, (and maybe I was just overly emotional today) I was really very touched.

I have always said that I don't have any idols. I don't have any celebrities that I look up to, because they're usually just pretty faces to look at. There are so many flashy, conceited, disgusting, famous figures nowadays that it makes me sick.

But I've changed my mind on one account. B.A.P is special, I think, because there is meaning behind most things they do. Meaning in a lot of their songs. There is meaning behind a lot of their actions. Yes, they're pretty. Yes, they're nice to look at and to listen to--but I think they're unique, because they are DOING something with their fame.

More specifically, Bang Yongguk. He's literally the kindest man. He's a great leader, a great writer--he's a thinker! He's great with kids, he loves raising international awarness and contributing to international relief funds; he smiles and it lights up a room. He's even sponsored a child from Bangladesh; her name is Mim and the person she wants to meet most in the world is Yongguk. I wish there were more selfless people like him.

I'm not saying he's perfect, because he isn't. No one is.

But he comes pretty damn close. ;)

Thanks for jerking my vision, Guk. <3

Please, if you are able to, look into some of the charities that are shown in the video.

Mim's letter to Yongguk:

||TRANS|| [Adlib from site: Yongguk sponsored a child, Mim, through World Vision, an organization that helps alleviate poverty and hunger in many countries worldwide that may be affected by natural disasters or civil conflict, etc."]

Dear Bang Yong Kook,

First of all, on behalf of Mim, we send you our earnest love.

She hopes you and your family are doing good. Mim is doing well with her family too.

She was delighted when she received the first letter you sent. For that letter, she wants to thank you. To make you feel happiness too, she is sending you some pictures. When you see them you will feel happy.

She is in elementary school now. When Mim heard that someday you wanted to come visit Bangladesh, she became very happy. She loves to read Bangla books and plays dolls with her baby brother. She hopes that you will send her a letter again.

May God bless you, and your family. She wants to thank you.

“Mim” (in Mim’s handwriting)
