What a Day for Music Feels! (ToHeart and TVXQ)

Hello All

There are so many things for us to talk about today so I am going to start with a WTF (teasers are now prologues?).  First, let's look at an ongoing conversation, WooKey's TOHEART project:

Now I have to be upfront about my personal music bias. I tend to prefer a more hip hop, r&b sound and this is so outside my wheel house that I just can't even begin to give my opnion of the music other than to say that it's not my style. But can we talk about cinematography for a minute? This teaser was shot so beautifully. I don't know if they used motion picture film instead of MV film, but there is a textural difference that really stands out here and brings a certain amount of intimacy to Key and Woohyun's faces that I don't think I've seen before. It's a very sweet look that matches their 'Twinks in Love' theme to a tee.

So here is my mini fanfic idea from this teaser: WooKey have just arrived in a small town off the coast of British Columbia and have gone to the beach to frolick in the wonder of their new lives as naturalized Canadian citizens. They were forced to seek asylum after news of their relationship was leaked to the press through a hacking of Key's instagram account and the DM's the two sent to one another. Receiving death threats and losing all of their music and endorsement contracts, the two set off for a new life in a country that would allow them to wed and live in relative anonimity and as they breathe in the salty air they share a breath and a cuddle. Later, they open their Korean fusion restaurant, Milky Way Diner, famous for their Bulgogi Tacos!

Next topic up for discussion is the new TVXQ MV for Spellbound:

AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You guise, I don't think I have enjoyed a TVXQ song and video this much since Before You Go. The music had me bopping in my seat and the clothes were sharp, the guys were cool and they sounded so confident and just...happy. The choreography with the girls was y, but not in a nasty way. Yes, there was touching, but it was a teasing, flirty touch that I can appreciate. But more than anything, I think it suits the men that these two are. It gave you an early 90's new jack sound throwback with Michael Jackson influenced themes and it really left me spell bound (I know, bad jokes). A Plus Gentlemen, A Plus!

Since this post is getting long, I will save the 2ne1 vs SNSD discussion for another post, but just know that I have strong feels about both offerings and am not afraid to express them. But until then, thank you for reading!

Before You Go was basically perfection.
