Flappy Bird Creator, is that guy serious??

Hello there,

i was introduced to Flappy Bird through AFF and one of my friends (Sylverain) through their blog. So i installed the game.

on monday i was driving back home from work, i was listenning to the radio. The guy on the radio said that the creator of the game Flappy Bird decided to remove the game from the app store and the play store because 'people were getting too addicted to the game', is that guy serious???? why are you bothered that people are getting addicted. i mean people getting addicted, leads to more downloads which then leads to him making more money. That guy was making 50000$ per day and he removed the game because people were playing it UGH!!!

well i just had to share this story and my opinion about it.

See you around AFF

The creator was bothered by the press and he receives death threats, that's what he mentioned on his interview. And no, he did not commit sucide if you are curious.

Someone actually killed his own brother because his brother got higher scores in this game.

He's a Vietnamese so I know (sort of) why. I read in the news that he's a reserved guy and Flappy Bird was just sth he created for fun not for attention. But when the game started to become popular, many asked him, tried to interview him and so on. Maybe he's not used to all that and really just can't take it anymore.

In my opinion, the fact that he chose the "safety" of the people because they were getting too addicted over the hundreds of dollars he was getting, complete respect for him. Plus, we can't really judge him cause we don't know the full story. All we know is that people are getting too addicted, and he didn't want to do anything with it anymore.

I can see that you're VERY addicted to this game. LOL. I think he did the right job.

It wasn't necessarily that people were getting "too addicted", but that Flappy Bird was ruining Dong Nguyen's life. He received a ton of hate because of Flappy Bird, and even some death threats. He also came under fire for potential copyright violation because of Nintendo, but it has now been revealed that those allegations had no grounds. Basically, Flappy Bird had completely blown up into something that he wasn't comfortable with and didn't want to continue, and I definitely respect his opinion. He wanted to create a game, but he ended up creating something so monstrously huge that he didn't want to continue with it. His game, his rules. He pulled it when he became uncomfortable with it, and I actually deeply respect him for that; even though he was making tons of money from it, he was still able to remove it when it became too much.

Just what I know and my opinion. c:

Isn't it because of copyright infringement? Never played the game but i saw the graphics he used. Isn't it property of nintendo?the pipes practically screamed mario. I think that was a smart move. Taking it out before he gets sued. He profitted a lot~~^^
