RIP Naya Rivera...

I was hoping this would have all been some sick prank or that maybe she will show up on the shore of the lake somewhere and be safe and recovering before she reappeared.

Let me recap the story a bit for those of you who don't know. Naya Rivera, the Glee actress, was with her son Josey on a boat in lake piru on the 8th. People on another boat found her son sleeping by himself and called the police. Naya went missing that day. After long search hours and a lot of prayers, yesterday, the 12tgh,  they have found and identified her body. Apparently she saved her son's life and couldnt save her own. She also wasnt wearing a life vest. Her last strength and energy, she used to save the life of the most important person in her life, her boy. She died a super mom.

She previously said that she was gonna be there every step of the way for him, she had everything down. It breaks my heart to know that she is not gonna be here to watch him grow.

Naya played Santana Lopez, the most epic tv character on Glee. She has amazing vocals. She is an amazing actress, she conveyed emotions genuinely. She is super funny. She is a beautiful woman, with her own issues. But who doesnt have issues?

I havent been following her closely the past couple of years, but in the back of my mind she was there, alive, safe, doing her thing and raising her boy. It never occured to me that i would read one day "presumed dead", idolizing people is such a tricky and fickle situation. You can wake up one day and read the word "passed away" and it may shatter your existence, its a pretty scary feeling. Yet we still do it, we follow, love and support.

I hope she is resting beautifully and peacefully. She impacted so many lives with or without knowing she did. She was a beacon of light to so many people who saw themselves in Santana, a character she protrayed genuinely knowing well enough the impact this representation will have on so many lives.

Naya Rivera, a new flower in the garden up there

I didn't watch glee religiously, but I knew who she was, and saw her on another show, and it was just terrible what has happened to her, I was also hoping that she would be found somehow, and not for this to end in the tragic way that it ended, and then her son, who was there with her, how awful for him, her family, friends. It's terrible that this had to happen in such a way. and that is also true, we grow so attached to the people we like as singers, entertainers, performers, etc, and then to find out they passed away sometimes it hurts so much as if it was a truly personal loss. thank you for expressing this, she deserves to be talked about.

RIP

Naya Rivera
