The Problem With Roleplays aka What to Improve in RPs

I'm like 191298392138% sure no one is going to read this (and i'm okay with that) so i'm just going to rant here for a bit.

I've been RPing since.......early 2011 on both Twitter, Facebook, and Tumblr and on all three platforms (esp twitter rps) I've here nothing but complaints about:
1) not having enough people
2) not having enough active people
3) unwanted drama
4) stupid stuff and blah blah blah

From what I have observe over the years, more and more "rp-ers" have been getting more and more out of character to the point where they're not even rp-ing anymore (if you can even call it that). They're just face-claiming and acting as how they would normally act on their own personal twitter. If i'm being reallly honest here, that wouldn't even bother me of you were out of character and still perserve the idol's image but majority of them do not. You don't even want to how how many times i've seen someone RP a member of EXO/Big Bang/BAP/BEAST more feminie than a member of Girl's Day and Apink or said something stupid to make them hated by everyone in the RP.

I'm not trying to be ist or anything but think about it. There are shows out there with your idol. You can at least do some research before you RP them or at least give them some character other than yours. As much as you think your idol is "gay", there are other ways to RP someone who is homoual that isn't the sterotypical one.

As for the actual RP itself, you may advertise it's friendly and it's a family and whatnot but whenever I join, I get what, 1 welcome? 2? That's pretty pathetic and sad at the same time. It's like saying, when you walk into a room by yourself when there is already a sea of of people inside talking amongst each other not giving a , you have to introduce yourself to each and every single one of the guest one by one not knowing how they're going to react. I don't know about you but that's ing nerve wreaking and I would have left the moment I wanted into the room.  Most people join RPs to escape the real world and to hopefully meet new friends in the process. If they're lonely in RL and you ignore them in RP, how do you think that'll make them feel?

Cliques. In every single rp in, there is always cliques.

tl;dr

1) Give your idol more character. There is a reason why it's called a role-play. You're playing a role that isn't yourself.
2) Less OOC.
3) Talk get hit. If you say your RP is friendly and welcoming when in reality they get like 2 welcomes, I will throw a brick at you.
4) Get away from the cliques and try to interact with everyone. That's what makes a great RP.
5) Advertise and have admins from different time zones. That way you'll be able to accept people faster and cater to more people, just saying. It proves that you, yourself is active.

If they do all those above, I'm 98% sure that would give RPs more active members because it gives people more a reason to come online.

Not that anyone is going to read this but if you have an RP like that or can recomment one, please do message me or something. My friends and myself are looking for an RP and would gladly join.

Wow, and I actually thought I was alone. I second each and every point you have mentioned there (though I have just joined facebook roleplays but I think the 3 platforms are a bit similar so yeah.) I know one rp that's like that but its theme is master and slave, and I'm not quite sure if you're okay with that, haha xD
