Personality :
Ji, having grown up in the very liberal city of San Francisco with a fairly open-minded family and set of friends made her very secure in who she is. She is the epitome of confidence- not only about intelligence (she's been an honor roll student for as long as she can remember,) but about her looks. Though, that wasn't always the case; however, with love, support and encouragement from her family and friends, she's gotten over any "hate" about her looks. As she always says, "If I can't love the face God created, no one else will." She has always been active in sports, participating and watching, though she prefers the latter. She loves all sports, but has a fondness for soccer and basketball. She has a weak spot for her mother's home-cooking (or other authentic Chinese food) and music. She grew up playing the piano (per her father's insistence) but branched out to guitar once she hit high school.
She is very friendly and perhaps due to the (mild) bullying she received as a child, she is almost always the first one to befriend a stranger. (though she is slightly cautious and will rely on intuition and not walk up to "strange" strangers) Many of her friends come from all different backgrounds and lifestyles; making her open-minded to anything (and anyone, to be honest) that can and will be thrown her way.Being an American (along with having affectionate friends) makes her very affectionate. She is known for her random and innocent touches when she is talking to people. She easily hugs her friends and normally will greet people (girls and boys) with hugs.
Flaws : One weakness (or strength depending how you look at it) that has been pointed out by her friends is her (too) trusting nature. Background :
Kang-soon -Ji's father- was born and raised in Gwangju,South Korea but studied abroad at the University of California-Berkely. When he met and fell in love with Ji's mother, they married and returned to Gwangju. After Ji's birth, opportunities to utilize his business degree and be closer to Evelyn's -Ji's mother- side of the family (as well as the Chinese part of Ji's heritage,) made the decision to move to San Franciso an easy one. As promised to Ji's grandparents ,the family visited every summer.It was during one of those summers (when Ji was 14) she tagged along with her cousins to Seoul to audition at SM. Her eldest cousin talked her into auditioning too and she was accepted not too long after.
She found it hard when she first started her training. Her Korean wasn't fluent (especially her writing/reading) nor was her Chinese really, since she mostly spoke English at home, and her lack of dance (at least the idol sort of dance) experience made it hard to find her niche.Plus, being homesick and not being able to even go see her grandparents in Gwangju made it seem much more lonely though she had plenty of friends.But she knew she had to persevere and work her best because this was what destiny had given her to work with. In time, she became more fluent in Korean, and being tri-lingual was a benefit since she was able to meet even more people and talk to them.

Dad; Kim Kang-Soon; 53; Lead Manager for an International Business Firm; He is loving, caring, and likes to laugh. He has a sarcastic sense of humor and loud, booming and very contagious laugh. He doesn't like to be told no and is a big fan of jazz and the 49ers; their relationship is great- she's his baby, and can always bring a smile to his face. He fully supports her dreams, even if it nearly killed him to have his baby thousands of miles away. She is a total daddy's girl, but still acts all tough and boylike, especially since she knew he always wanted a son.
Mom; Evelyn Qu-Kim; 50; Assistant Director for Outreach Relations at a local church; She is very sweet and soft-spoken. She has her moments of childishness but is usually very level-headed. She is very feminine and graceful. She is also very understanding and compassionate which she uses daily in her line of work; their relationship is great. He fully supports her dreams and was actually the one who finally convinced her father to let her move to Korea to train at SM. The only objection Evelyn ever has is that she wished Ji was just a little bit more feminine or worried a little more about makeup, but has long given up and only quietly hope things will change when Ji grows up some more.

thought you could read a few things into it. Like High-5, or Hi(S) as in almost the opposite of girl(S) though obviously fans wouldn't be only boys, but i kinda thought it was cute. ^^
