It is no secret that one of Yeonjae's main traits is her never-ending optimism. She has always been a very open-minded and cheerful person, looking at the bright side of things and seems intent on facing her problems head-on, knowing it will hurt less to just face them instead of abandoning them and hoping for the best. Yeonjae is nothing short of confident and likes the idea of appearing cool and charismatic in front of other people. Lee Yeonjae was born on 11 April 1990 and raised in Incheon, South Korea, as the daughter of Lee Jongyul, well-known architect, and Lee Hyein, a botanist in Seoul. She grew up in a middle class home with two younger siblings; her sister Eunjae and brother Minjae, who are two and five years her seniors, respectively. When she was young, she was an adventurous and curious child who went around asking questions and being mesmerized by the world. She became interested in the thought of becoming a star when her father bought her to a Shinhwa concert back in 2000, where she got to see real team work and the magic of synchonization. Her parents let her audition for a couple of companies, but she didn't make it through. After her mother died, she went through a bit of a lonely period, but was back on track within months in order to work hard and make her dreams come true.
lifestyle — Yeonjae lives in an apartment in Seoul with her pet bird Josey and goldfish Hana. After the hiatus, she began looking for other places to work such as commercials, dramas and movies. She was among others an extra in To the Beautiful You, played a client in Dating Agency: Cyrano and appeared in TaTiSeo's Twinkle music video as one of the background dancers for the girls. Although she finds her a little obnoxious and over-achieving at times, she feels they do it good outside of their little competitions. trainee years — Her life as a trainee began back in 2004 when she was 14 years old. Because of her young age, people didn't always take her seriously and would often ignore her, making her feel quite lonely at times. She knew she had to prove herself in order to be accepted and tried hard and long in order to show those around her that she was just as capable as they were of making it out there in the show industry. Having an accident or two prior to her debut, rumors of plastic surgery surfaced, but she was quick to shoot them down and confirm their status of being false.
