"You cannot fly with broken wings and you cannot love with a broken heart." |
name : Lee Eun Gi
faceclaim : Yurim
character traits : bitter, passionate, emotional, analytical If you met Eun Gi, you would think she was just a cold block of ice, but in reality, she has a fire burning in her heart. Her passion can not be seen very easily, but it can be heard through the piano. This is where she expresses herself best and the only way that someone can be aware of the pain she is going through. Eun Gi is not hurt very easily because she has gone numb to most of the bad things in the world. When she walks through school, she is very aware of all the girls whispering about her, but she couldn't care less about what anyone thought. However, one of her bad traits is that she ignores people in trouble. She feels that if she helps anyone out, they would want to form a relationship with her and she didn't want any of that anymore. Eun Gi always tells herself that she would rather be alone than experience the heartbreak that she went through again. She doesn't really believe in the marks. Her parents are married to each other and they don't match. But she knows deep inside that her mother and father are not happy with each other. They don't have the best relationship, just a cool kind of agreement, two strangers living in the same house. So maybe, Eun Gi just doesn't really believe in love.
background : Eun Gi was born in Seoul, South Korea. Her childhood was very lonely since her father was a businessman that travelled a lot and her mother was a college professor that often stayed at school the entire day in meetings and seminars. She was closest to her grandmother, who would come over often to babysit her in the early years. Her favorite moments were when they played the piano together. When Eun Gi was twelve, her grandmother died from cancer and she was more alone than ever. Her parents were still occupied with their jobs and Eun Gi didn't have many friends. That was when she started to play the piano again. Her grandmother had given her lessons on music and Eun Gi had completely fallen in love with the subject. Since she knew her parents wouldn't approve of her hobby (they both thought a job as a musician/artist was unstable and useless), she kept it a secret. She started to compose her own music because she didn't want to buy books and draw her parents' suspicion. Even from that age, her songs were breathtakingly beautiful and could make a person laugh or cry, depending on her motive. Freshman year in high school was when Eun Gi met him. His name was Eli Kim and he was an exchange student from the US. He was also a pianist, which made Eun Gi instantly click with him. However, he was the complete opposite of Eun Gi: loud, bubbly, charismatic. Eli was the one who encouraged her to pursue a career as a pianist, and even helped her break the news to her parents. This is also around the time when Eun Gi's parents got a divorce. Eli helped her get through that as well. They participated in piano contests together, and although Eun Gi always got first while Eli was second, he was always her biggest fan and supporter. They eventually began dating. Eun Gi was always outside her comfort zone when she was with Stephen, laughing and trying new things. Her reputation as the ice queen started to melt and she even made some friends. Senior year when Eli and Eun Gi both got their acceptance letter to Seoul National University, Eun Gi dared to dream this relationship would last forever. It was their second year at the university when Eun Gi's hopes were crushed. Eli had been accompanying a vocalist at the same school and they had found out their marks matched. He immediately dumped her afterwards and started a relationship with the singer the next day. Eun Gi was devasted. She had thought that their love had been real, but Eli had thrown it all away because of some matching tattoo? Her hatred for love, soul mates, and relationships grew and grew each day without Eli. She had no one to support her, since her parents had practically disowned her when she declared she would be a pianist. Her high school friends were scattered all across the country, living their new lives. Eun Gi was alone... until she found an outlet. This outlet was her music, and eventually, it became an obsession. She stayed after school for hours and hours, practicing and composing. Her works were brilliant, but so dark that even her professors began to question her state of mind.
lifestyle : Eung Gi lives in a small apartment that is three bus stations away from her college. She used to live there with Eli and she had wanted to move out after the break up, but he insisted she should stay and even paid a year worth of rent because he felt bad. She has a part time job of teaching children piano, where she gets her money for basic necessities since her parents aren't supporting her at all anymore.
