get to know me better - happy 2014

I wanted to do a get to know me better blog post in celebration for the upcoming new year, so without further ado, here goes nothing.

Where: I live in the United States.

Age: I'm in high school right now.

When did I get into kpop: The summer of 2012. The same summer I began writing fanfictions on AFF.

First favorite kpop group: Infinite

First favorite kpop song: Paradise

Currently in love with: Yoo Yeon Seok (Reply 1994; Team Chilbong)

Questions and more random questions.

Favorite book: I will never get tired of Catching Fire. Never

Favorite fanfiction: I have a lot, but I'd say the first fanfiction I read, was Conversations Between Us by Solangel. I can't link it to you guys because her chapters are being edited so she can publish it. Though, you should check out the reviews on goodreads.

Favorite character (played by an idol) I've ever written about: Do Kyungsoo. Although A Foundation of Lies is still in the process of developing plot-wise and character-wise, I think he's pretty bada.ss. A lot of fanfictions portray him as the nagging house-wife, but I wanted to take a different spin to D.O's sterotypical character. Hopefully, everyone enjoys this change in character. I think we can view Kyungsoo in a different light by picturing him as a gangster.

Favorite original character I've ever written about: Choi Na Hee from A Foundation of Lies. Her case goes for the same as Kyungsoo, as mentioned previously. There still has a lot to develop, but compared to Hana in both Walking on Margins and Artificial Affection, Na Hee seems like a strong girl who can think quickly. She's been through a lot, not saying that Hana didn't in Walking On Margins. I just think as the story progresses, we'll see more of Na Hee's mentality. I have high hopes for this female lead.

Favorite fanfiction I've ever written: I have a thing for gang fanfictions. This probably is because CBU (Conversations Between Us) was a gang fanfiction itself and I was inspired by Solangel to write. So, I would have to say A Foundation of Lies. Honestly, I'm being so biased towards that fanfiction right now, but I really enjoy writing about dark concepts. Action and romance together is just amazing.

Fanfiction that I felt was most successful: Surprisingly, it isn't Aritifical Affection - which, by the way, has 1100+ subs, 18000+ views, 45 upvotes currently. (I couldn't believe I got so many readers during this time period. Thank you guys so much!) Although it may seem the most successful, the most successful fanfiction of mine was Consternation of Him. It was my third time entering a writing competition, and I really entered it without knowing what to expect. The two other times I had entered a writing competition, the results didn't turn out so lucky. But somehow, this time around, I managed to score second place with my seven-chaptered story! That day the results came out, I was so thankful. Seriously.

Goals for the upcoming year: I won't lie about this. Since my being here on AFF, I've always wanted to be featured. I am slowly making my way to the top with the help of all of you guys. I really appreciate every single person who took a look at my story. So, like many authors on this site, getting featured is always the goal. But, it's a huge milestone to reach, so I'll advance towards it slowly. I believe that you must work hard in order to achieve what you want. So, I'll continue to put my effort into updating my stories in hopes that you guys will enjoy it. And  it's okay if I don't reach my goal. At least it's something to look forward at and motivate myself. I also want to pass my piano exam coming up in March. It's my last exam I'll take if I pass, so hopefully I'll pass it with much ease.

Now, finally, I have an announcement.

In celebration for 2014, I am going to start a writing contest to kick off the year.

I'm not 100% sure with the dates yet, but I'll try to post the details on January 3rd.

The prizes won't be big, as I'm still a high school student. Just karma points, promotions on my stories and upvotes.

Keep an eye for the details, if you're interested in joining.
