Sehun Oneshot: Warm Inside

Sehun looked down at you nervously at you as you two walked down the streets of Myeongdong. Everyone was shopping in the cold for the perfect Christmas presents. Sehun didn't need to buy anything, he just needed an excuse to take you out and convince you that he wasn't a Grinch.

The two of you went to school together and he was the cold flower boy while you were the sweet social girl. After the two of you had a conversation about Christmas he somehow got the nicknamed 'Grinch'. No, he wasn't mad at you. You were too cute to be mad at but he wouldn't let you know that. Yet.

"What store are we going to?" you asked.

"Uh, any one. I don't know what I am buying yet."

"Seriously? It's two days before Christmas! Who is this present for anyway?"

"A friend." he answered vaguely.

"Does this friend have a name?" you urged. Sehun didn't answer and a smirk grew on your face. "Is it a girl?"

He turned to you with wide eyes and pink ears. "W-what?"

"It's a girl. Are you going to ask her out for Christmas? How cliche yet romantic." you bumped your shoulder against him.

"I-It's not a girl." he lied, and she wasn't convinced.

"No wonder you needed my help. Come on." you took his hand and pulled him to a store. Luckily you weren't looking because his ears were beat red and ready to spread to his cheeks. "Does she like jewelry?"

"Uh, I don't know. What do you think?"

"Depends. Some girls like earrings, some like necklaces. I am a bracelet kind of girl myself, but, this girl may be different."

"Is there any other option?"

"Um... How about perfume?" you suggested. "This is good because girls usually wear scents that guys like so you get to pick it out." she looked through all of the perfume bottles and sniffed them.

"What scents would you suggest?" he asked, picking up a random bottle and smelling it.

"I like spicy scents. Nothing fruity or flowery. Oh, like this one." you picked up a deep red sample bottle and held it up to him. He smelled the perfume and imagined the scent on you.

"I like it." Sehun sighed dreamily with his eyes closed.

"Then, lets get it. This girl is going to be so lucky." you pouted cutely and grabbed a box with a full bottle in it. "Let's look at these too! Does she like plushies?" you pulled him to a section full of stuffed animals.

"Uh, don't all girls?"

You rolled your eyes at his ignorant comment. "You would think that, Grinch." she teased.

Sehun clenched his jaw and glowered at the dolls. "Wait." he caught sight of a cute wolf plush. "Cute." he chuckled to himself.

"Aaw, I was looking at that one." you pouted. "This girl is going to have the best gifts ever."

"Uh, why don't you go to the plaza and get us some bubble teas? I'll buy these and get them wrapped. Meet me by the big christmas tree." he told you. You nodded and sent a thumbs up before walking out of the store.

When you were fully out of sight, Sehun grabbed the perfume, plush, and went to the jewelry to get you the perfect bracelet. "You're going to love this." he smiled.

You tapped your foot impatiently as you waited by the big Christmas tree in the plaza. The sun was starting to go down and all the lights were turning on. The sight was so breath taking and you were soaking it all in. With a sigh you saw your foggy breath rise to the sky. Your bubble tea was half empty while Sehun's was still full. You stomped cutely in your boots and sunk your nippy nose into your scarf.

"What's taking him so long?"

"____!" you heard someone call your name. You turned to see Sehun jogging towards you with a shopping bag in his hand. "Sorry, but I was buying other gifts as well." he excused.

"One of them better be for me, Grinch."

"I did get you a present, but if I'm a Grinch..." he turned to walk away but you jumped in front of him.

"Noo! Come on!" you whined. He turned with an amused smile. "I got you a bubble tea." she bribed.

Sehun took it and sipped it with a warm smile on his face. You've never seen him smile that way. He was always so... stoic.

"Here." he set the bag down and his bubble tea and pulled out a small box from it. "Open it."

You gave him a look and set your tea on the bench beside you so you could open it. Sehun anticipated your reaction as you ripped the wrapping paper. Luckily, a bright smile lit up your face as you gazed at the perfume you picked out in the store.

"Wah! I thought this was for that girl you were shopping for."

He shrugged. "I thought you'd like it more."

"Sehun, thank-" you were about to hug him when he stopped you.

"Wait, I got you another gift." he pulled a small bag from the big bag.

"Another one?" you gave him a weird look and peeked in the bag. "The plush? Sehun, why are-" it took you a minute to soak it in. He tried to hide his nervous expression by looking at you with a stoic face. "There is no other girl you are shopping for... is there?"

Without saying anything, Sehun pulled the last gift from the bag and held it out to you. You quietly took it, noticing that it wasn't wrapped because it was a velvet box and that there was a note on top of it. You gave him a confused look before opening it.

'You say I'm a Grinch, but every time I see you, my heart grows two times its normal size and feels warm and light.'

Not knowing what to say, you just looked up at him. "What is this?"

"Open the box." he encouraged with a warm smile. You did as so and gasped when you saw a glittering charm bracelet.

"Sehun." was all you could say. You felt his hand take yours and he took one step closer to you. You looked up to see his sparkling eyes and it's like you were seeing him in a new light. He picked up the bracelet and put it on your wrist.

"I picked out the charms myself." he told you softly. "This one." he pointed to a snowflake. "Is your first impression of me. You said I looked like a cold guy."

"This one." he pointed to a flame shaped one. "Is what I actually felt inside when I first met you."

"This one." he pointed to a book charm. "Is your math book. You always forget it and we had to share mine." he chuckled and your heart fluttered in your chest.

"This one." he pointed to a drink charm. "Is bubble tea. We both love bubble tea."

"And this one." the last charm was a heart. "This is mine... but it's yours now."

You didn't know what to say. You just stared at him with blushed cheeks and a pounding heart.

"Sehun... This is..."

His facial expression fell and you could tell he took it the wrong way. Before he could step back and regret everything you wrapped his arms around his waist and buried your face in his chest. He was frozen for a minute before he put his arms around you.

"It's perfect." you mumbled. "I honestly didn't expect this. You never acted like you were interested."

Sehun sighed and rested his cheek on top of your head. "On the outside, I may seem cold... But whenever you're around... I'm always warm inside."
