PERSONALITY: Ryusia is strong, fiercely independent and her beauty exudes through her qualities and magnetism. She’ll hide the truth more often than not, often giving a different meaning to mask what it is she is trying to hide—her poker face. She will appear to be drawn back but it is a mere act. Her silence is her mystery. And she’s no social butterfly either. But that itself creates a magnetism that attracts others to her. The more she knows, the better she’ll be, and she’ll keep it to herself to use against you when needed. Although she’ll want to dominate any relationship, whether in her career or in love, she’ll hold back, temporarily so as to let her companion control the relationship in the beginning. Now when it comes to “friendships” she’s on guard all the time. She puts up walls, but does expect complete faithfulness in said “friendship”. Family

FAMILY BACKGROUND: Born and raised in Venice, Italy, Ryusia was used to the good life, being daughter of a legendary cello player and a professional ballerina, money was not a problem for their family. She has a brother, Benjamin Baek aka Bae Ryul who is 6 years older than her and things with him are rough ever since the death of their parents. Growing up, Ryusia never had her mother—as she passed away in the process of giving birth to said girl. She was raised by her father – but mostly the maids – and her older brother (when he was little and naïve). She wasn’t your average little girl in school. Sure, she wore skirts and little pigtails to school, but you wouldn’t see her playing rope or hopskotch. She’d be out on the field with the little boys, playing Soccer and getting muddy. School for Ryusia was a piece of cake—being quite the bright girl, she exceeded all her teacher’s expectations. She only made it as a freshmen in high school before moving countries and did make quite a lot of “friends” along the way. She had two bestfriends: Alexandria Pierro & Raimonda Lucciano. Now, she still keeps in touch with them, but not as much since the distant has set quite the boundary in their friendship. She didn’t get to experience romance since she was still young, so she has no knowledge about relationships whatsoever. She’s never been shown affection—it’s always been Tough Love with her brother and her father with her being the only girl around since her mother died. Her father never bothered re-marrying. He still loved his late wife. When Ryusia started hitting the pre-teen age, she started rebelling. . Her brother was a rebel as well. He did things people would never imagine. It was only a matter of time until she started following his “great” example as her big brother. She started hanging with the wrong crowd, ditched school, and had her fair share of what the cold, cruel world at such a young age. And it wasn’t until her father grew deadly sick with stomach ulcers that she realized what she was doing. Her brother and her would make their father so, so angry when they’d come home late at night or sometimes, even at dawn—the anger feeding his sickness. His sickness was treated and stabilized, but only for a few months. Even while being able to afford the best medicine the world could offer at that time, he wouln’t get any better. So he passed away a year later, when Ryusia was 14 and Benjamin 20. Things started to get bumpy between the two siblings now that their father was gone. So Benji, being a legal adult, fixed up their passports and had them fly on over to Watts, Los Angeles, living there and getting an apartment for themselves. Things were awkward between the two siblings. They fought for most of the time, hit each other and bickered like any other siblings. Now, Benjamin would only tolerate her. He soon settled down after they got injured in a big car accident while they were fighting on their way to school. He straightened up, got a job, although unnecessary, and enrolled into college and became a Lawyer at age 24. Since then, they’d been living a so-so life in Watts, Los Angeles.

Now, in Watts is where she first learned about KPOP. Her brother would go to gigs and underground clubs out of the country for rap battles when they had just arrived in Watts for a little “extra money”. Now, these performances weren’t always in english, she noticed. They were in their father’s mother tongue. Korean. She was amazed at the speed the people rapped. She asked her brother to “teach” her how to flow and soon, she was pulled into the world of rap battles. In Korean. She’d search up videos of Korean Rappers and stumbled upon Teddy Park, former 1TYM member and was entranced. He was from some kind of record company by the name of YGE, but that lead her to look more into KPOP. And the more she dug into the art of rap in Korean, she found Epik High. She was immediately in love. Their raps were just amazing. “Urban Poetry” as the Korean people would often call it. And after that, she bettered her Korean, learned to rap just like those “guys from the underground clubs” as she called then, and begged her brother on her knees to let her fly over to Korea for an audition with YG Entertainment (where her all-time idol resided) … which he denied 4 times. It wasn’t until her brother found out that she had sent several mixtapes and videos to YGE that he softened up just a bit. He was a Pre-Law student and had dropped all the “fun at the time” activities, but that didn’t mean he should hold her back from what she wanted. And so there starts the story of Baek Ryusia and being a trainee for YGE Entertainment. (do tell me if this is wrong and not what you’re looking for.)

Trainee Experience: like it said in the Fam. BG, she constantly would send in Mixtapes and Videos of her rapping, dancing, singing to YG leading her to get an invitation to come down to Korea for an audition. thus, leading Ryusia to become a YG trainee and being part of the YG Fam.

Trainee Background: ryusia’s trainee life was anything but easy. having to handle 8 – 10 hours of training each day with limited freedom, being a Pre Law student, and not being able to communicate with her brother how lived back in Watts, Los Angelesat the time was something she couldn’t handle. the simple work outs were a big challenge and she always seemed to be starting up conflict between other trainees. back in her trainee days, ryusia was a bit of a problem-starter. every time a new trainee would come into the company, she’d be in charge of “teaching them”, getting them “caught up” when she’d actually start fights and push them around. she was actually suspended from all trainee activities for a year and a hald for being such a . but you had to understand that her family life at home wasn’t very good, and so that’s what had shaped her into what she was back then. but now, as big of a problem starter that she was, when it came down to music—rapping, her forte, she’d be in the zone. bboying? same. when she was given the opportunity to begin recording and testing out her raps and actually being featured in some of the biggest rap stars’ tracks was something she couldn’t pass up. and when Yang Hyun Seok-nim finally gave her the chance to start training again, she jumped right on board.
