Hi :3 This is my entry to

prompts used are : snow and white Christmas (well, the latter is questionable xD)

A star lit up in the cold night, its light stronger and stronger until is suddenly it started falling, falling onto the dark Earth.

And just as its light finally dulled, the first, purest flakes of snow started falling from the suddenly cloudy sky. It all happened quickly, one moment everything was dark and then suddenly, winter seemed to appear. A sweet giggle could be heard in the distance.

Gradually, dull browns and grays were turning white as a cold blanket of snow slowly covered everything  one could see.

Most creatures, humans and animals alike were sleeping deeply by that time, but there was someone who was out in such weather. However, she didn't seem bothered by it.

Skin as white as snow, lips as red as roses, eyes as black night, she was out there, dancing. And as she danced, many tiny flakes of snow started to follow her, a crown of white slowly sitting on top of her messy, black hair. The harsh winds would ever so often tug at the ends of her skirt that sparkled, just like the snow in the dim light of the moon.

Gradually, the darkness of the night was disappearing. The first rays of the cold sun graced the girl's pale skin, causing a small smile to appear on her lips. But she never stopped dancing and the snow never stopped falling.

Children ran out happily, playing in the snow. Small animals, too, dared to wander into the unfamiliar sea of white, some of them finding it interesting to play in.

A small deer with eyes as brown as chocolate and a light fur put one leg after the other before slipping and falling ahead, landing on the soft blanket of white. It stood up quickly and stumbled back into its previous hiding place, shivering slightly as a thin coat of white covered its fur.

For a moment, the girl stopped, curiosity getting the best of her as she followed the deer. The snow, as if controlled by her, seemed to suddenly stop as well. Some flakes even froze in mid-air. But the girl didn't care, she kneeled down to see where the deer had laid down to rest.

And not much later, she was back to dancing. Her skirt flowed in the wind as she twirled around again and again restlessly and soon, the snow followed her movements.

Children ran around in the snow happily, they giggled and laughed as they would throw some clumsily-made snowballs at each other. One of them made a snow-angel while another was trying to make a snowman.

And the girl just danced, even after night had fallen. Again, the stars and the moon were her only companions. The snow stopped after a while, leaving a thick, cold blanket on everything. Some animals, again, dared to try out their new surroundings, but they would always flinch back: the snow was cold, slippery and soft. It was dangerous.

The girl slowly grew lonely yet she still continued to dance as days and nights passed, again and again. The children lost interest in the somewhat dirty snow, the animals would rarely ever play around. She was alone.

Sometimes, she would see older people ran around, searching for this and that on busy streets but they would never stop, not even for a moment to appreciate her, her beauty. No.

Maybe she was beautiful with skin as pale as snow, lips as red as roses and eyes are black as night, but they had no time for her. They smudged her skin with black ink, they set her hair on fire as many, many lights would sparkle through the night and soon, her lips lost their color.

But the days still seemed to drag on. At times, children returned to play with sledges and animals would dig around the thick snow for food, but even if the girl was dancing, twirling, floating... they never noticed her.

And just as quickly as it came, the snow started to melt. At first, it was just lonely drops of water that would sometimes trickle down windows or doors and then suddenly, all the snow was disappearing.

The sun warmed up everything by ease, its lovely rays coaxing everything to come back to life.

But even if she was slowly growing tired, the girl continued to dance. It snowed once more, frozen tears of angels once again covering everything.

For one last time.

Because once the first bird arrived from the South, feeling that finally, it could return home, the girl fell on the ground. Her eyes lost their lights, her hair crowned her pale face desperately, once more trying to show her beauty, but her body lay lifeless on the wakening ground.

That night, a shooting star dashed through the clear sky.

Slowly, dust had fallen upon the girl as if the stars were crying for their lost friend. And just before someone could have noticed her limp body lying in the snow, she suddenly vanished into thin air. Only a small snowflake remained where she had been, but even that melted within moments.

She was gone.

But just as she disappeared, someone else descended upon the lonely land of Earth. Her golden hair, like a halo, crowned her pale but lively face. Her skin was white, but her cheeks were as pink as cherry blossoms, and her eyes were as blue as the sky on the sunniest of days.

And soon, she started dancing.

And as she danced and danced, the scent of spring finally appeared in the air.

And somewhere, many many miles away, the first flower blossomed.
