"If your bias was caught in a dating scandal, how would you react? How would it affect his/her career?"

-seoulbeats, Roundtable: My Bias Was Caught Dating

The article was written in October after the dating scandals of several kpop idols broke out. I still find it ridiculous how they are considered scandals but I don't want to be a hypocrite. Here in my country, celebrities deny dating rumors also but paparazzis are persistent. We do have Buzz ng Bayan and other showbiz news programs but the don't have a dating ban, except the kids and teens of course. It only becomes a scandal when they break-up because of another man/woman. Hoho.

Moving on, let's answer these questions.

Question 1: "If your bias was caught in a dating scandal, how would you react?"

[given that I have a bias and it wasn't his gf who revealed the relationship in twitter or other social networking site and brought up the issue for the third time now #someonestopher.]

Keeper: "How could you get yourself caught like that?! No worries. I will blog about this in AFF and comment in Netizenbuzz even if I get harassed and hated and downvoted! I will make a new password for tumblr because I would have forgotten the password again. I will tweet. I will explain or try to shake some sense into some people, just in case your company messes up with their statement. OTL."

Serious mode on: I wouldn't be surprised. It is what I hope for him - to experience life.  I would have liked it if he revealed it himself... and not caught. Anyway, I'd honestly look up the girlfriend in google search, just to know more about her and hope that she loves and cares for him and vice versa. I'd be happy. There was a time that I belonged to a fandom and had a bias. I said that... "My stories are my wishes for the artists in it and for everyone who reads it."

Question 2: "How would it affect his/her career?"

Keeper: I agree with the writers interviewed in the above article. This would depend on the sanity of the fandom. But because I don't have a bias so I have no reference fandom. Their career is hugely dependent on their fanbase. The regular k-netizens and public is not his main source of income. It's the fans who would buy concert tickets, albums and other merchandise. It's the fans who would vote for awards and increase their digital and physical album sales. Fans do not own them...but idols need them in order to survive in the entertainment industry. [That said, I hope Inspirits are sane enough to support the group in spite of everything.]

If my bias was caught in a dating scandal, it wouldn't really affect me. I wouldn't be upset, nor I would be extremely happy or something since I believe most of the idols have or are dating anyways. The only difference is whether they get caught or not.

I'm not going to blame him for getting caught (as long as him getting caught is not because he posted ambiguous stuffs on sns or something or/and because he wears couple stuffs with someone fans can easily see. I don't blame people for wearing couple stuffs, but when you're celebrity and you don't want to get caught, please don't).

It would affect his career for a while (seeing how it was with Jonghyun, and my bias is arguably more popular in Korea). But it wouldn't be a huge blow for the group hopefully (I'm more worried about the girl if my bias was proven dating her). Some fans will definitely leave. I know it's a silly mindset, but who can blame them since that's what k-pop sells to fans. Illusion. Saying that they love fans the most and that they have never dated. Fans who believed them would definitely feel betrayed and would leave. That's the consequences idols should know. Silly, but true in k-pop fandom.

I'd be okay if any of my biases got married or dated. They have lives outside of the famous world after all. I think it's normal to feel a little, little bit jealous but nothing too over the top like hating the person the idol is dating.

I'm not an Infinite fan as I don't have any interest in them, but I hope things will be fine for Myungsoo and the other members.

They should have a life, but they are being contained because it is their career.

But I think Infinite and Myungsoo will survive this, especially since other groups have had way worse scandals and are thriving, so I'm not too worried.

Not going to lie but I do not understand why people automatically assume Myungsoo is stupid because he dated that girl. Like for real, half the people that commented on that post were hypocrites and probably had similar dating issues to Myungsoo, but because they aren't celebrities, they're dating mishaps are obviously less terrible than his. People can be idiots sometimes and I think it's terrible how they judge him for one girl that decided to screw him over. If it was a constant thing, then yes, I can see how he could be stupid when it comes to girls, but that doesn't automatically make him an idiot for dating one idiot as well. I mean, I've had way worse horror stories when it comes to dating and yet nobody calls me an idiot, except maybe myself. So I don't understand why people need to rag on a guy that just happened to get burned by the wrong person. Like seriously, these people need to take a few steps in his shoes before they start mouthing off like a few of them did.

(I know he's an idiot sometimes, but it's not because of him dating that girl, it's because he's freaking naive and looks at the world like a freaking newborn. Seriously, I have never seen someone get so excited about freaking sheep and pelicans and crap like that before. I'm pretty sure he was the type of kid that believed in santa until his teen years... I'm actually being serious here. And it's hilarious as well because his younger brother is so much more mature and less naive than him... I'm pretty sure his younger brother facepalms whenever his brother does something stupid or thinks something weird to be honest. Though it is pretty sad at the same time because I'm pretty sure Myungsoo feels like he's not a very good big brother sometimes because of his personality type and how he looks at the world, unable to connect as well to his brother who is more grounded and has less of a 'dreamy' mindset that Myungsoo does.)

LOL if my biases were caught dating, I would probably go "THANK YOU IT'S ABOUT TIME YOU GUYS GOT MARRIED"
Most of my biases are OLLLLDDD so :3
But they're still lovable! XD

That huge refernce to the "third time" gf.... Haha
Though honestly, she's so out there for the fame and I find her a bit off...
Nevertheless, their songs are really awesome so I'll just support them!^^
And honestly, one day all of our idols and biases will start dating, get married and have kids! Look at wonder girls!
I don't get the huge boyfriend image but that's what they sell so... Idk

As me for me, I would really happy if my bias (Ikuta Toma) is dating and getting married. So, that I will give up on him and move on with my life. XD

I mean, he is nearly 30 and I'm sure he wants to experience it like his friends. Everyone around him is getting married, even his younger brother are married so I think he might feel the pressure. LOL. Well, I don't know why he still single,(except he is dating someone but being secretive about it) He's probably really focusing on his career or he just care about his fans too much (delusional fan's words, haha). Johnny's is strict but still some of their idols still dating and getting married anyway.

And I don't think it's really going to affect his career because most of his fans love him because of his talent!(and his semi photo shoots) XD God bless J-idols! XD

He is my bias...but ultimately...no matter how we feel...we are just fans...we are not them...
Our biases are humans too...they have their freedom too...and it's their love life...they have to be responsible to their own feelings...

For me...hmmm...I wouldn't really care, I'd be happy for him. And it wouldn't really affect his career, unless this is a scandal that would ruin his reputation, like say he cheated or did something of ambiguous moral, or whatever. Yoochun's a good guy and a veteran in the entertainment industry. I'm sure he'll handle that kind of crap well.

Is this about L? If so, he should be able to date whom ever he wants without the hassle. Work should be work
