Secret: She was once a talkative girl, who is well known for her friendliness and amazing skills but an incident happened during her time in middle school which makes her shut herself in her own world.

What/how/when/why?: She was one of the popular figures in her middle school that almost every girl including her best friends envy her deeply. Her best friends left her alone after accusing her of being a when one of the cute guys in school confessed his love for Hyemi.

Personality: One word which was once used to describe Hyemi is talkative. Yes, it was all in the past, when she used to be a cheerful, outgoing, friendly girl who seems to be perfect in every aspect of her life. Nowadays, she is just a quiet girl who is friendless (unless you count her so-called 'friend') but still excels in her studies and also sports. She refuses to let anyone be her friends because of her great fear of being left alone. Her abrupt changes shocked her family and they have tried countless of methods to make her turn into her normal self again but all those efforts are fruitless. She doesn't talk unless when needed and is always seen alone.

The heir of the '365 Magz' company is quite intelligent that some of her acquaintance praise her brilliant deduction skills. She is able to solve any mystery if she takes her time thinking about it which sometimes gives her both looks of appraisal and hatred from the people around her. Hyemi is one of the top students in her school and is well respected by her teachers for her wide range of knowledge. The only thing she is bad at is arts. Singing, dancing, painting, drawing, sketching and other types of arts are in her field of failure. It is not that she is not trying, it's just that Hyemi and arts just don't click together.

This 16-year old girl is active in sports despite her quiet attitude. She always wins the competition whenever she joins them which fuels her haters' hatred towards her even more. However, of all the sports she has joined, she loves swimming the most. Whenever she swims, she feels connected with the water and it helps chasing her problems away for the moment. That's why Hyemi is chosen to be the vice president of the swimming club despite only being in her first year. Although she is almost good in everything she does, she still misses the one thing she can never have; companion.

Even though Hyemi is active in sports and her studies, she shows a rather apathetic attitude towards everything else. This attitude of hers is often misinterpret as laziness. This is because aside from her lack of words, Hyemi seldomly gets angry and rarely smile nor laugh after the incident happened. She never tries to care about others nor did she tries to help others much. It's a pity but she considers help as a way to gain friends and Hyemi doesn't need friends (or so she thinks). She also uses the same excuse that those kind of things are meaningless to her and that they are just a waste of energy. The same goes to smiling, laughing, shouting, getting angry, helping others etc.

Background: Han Hyemi is considered to be a lucky child as she is born as an heir to her family's magazine company. At a young age of 3, her mother died of cancer and her dad went into a state of depression. He ate so little and doesn't talk at all, refusing any help from anyone. This goes on for several months until her 29-year-old-and-still-not-married aunt moved in into the house to take care of the family's welfare. Hyemi grew up under the good care of her aunt who she treated like her own mother. Even her disappointing father was taken care well despite his lack of cooperation.

Hyemi's aunt left the house when Hyemi was 13 due to her aunt's luck on finally finding a husband. Her aunt moves to Australia because her husband who is an Australian insisted that they live in his house. Due to that fact, Hyemi learned to live in her somewhat empty house with her father. As her aunt is not in Korea anymore, Hyemi has to manage the magazine company at such a young age. It was hard and painful for her to continue living after the incident in her middle school but as the heir to the company, she knew that giving up is not an option. Hyemi tries her best in everything she does even if she was practically all alone.

A year later, Fate seems to pity her and give her some kindness. Her father fell in love with his own doctor and married her after dating her for two months. Hyemi's stepmother is a pretty 35-year-old Korean woman who has a 15-year-old adopted son. It seems that Hyemi's stepmother found the boy when he was a baby 15 years earlier when she was 20 and she decided to keep him as her adopted son. However, Hyemi's life is too dark to be changed again. She felt nothing when her father miraculously came home with a woman and a happy smile on his face. She felt nothing when he told her that she is going to have a new mother. She felt nothing on the wedding day. Fate helped her too late. It's too late to fix a broken doll.

Yes, Baek is a popular guy who is, surprisingly, in the first class despite his laziness to study. He loves to joke around with his peers and is always seen in parties whether he is invited or not. He never finished his works and it takes a lot of pushing to make he contributes something during group projects. He is loud, talkative, happy guy who seems to have no problem at all. However, he shares the same fear as Hyemi which is scared of being left alone. That is probably why he cares a lot about what people thinks of him and always tries his best to be liked by many with his cheerful self.

Interactions: Byun Baekhyun is just another person that Hyemi never cares about. She didn't even know his name. She never notices the looks nor the gazes he keeps giving her.

Why they're your rival: Minah never says it but she secretly feels intimidated by Hyemi. She acts like she doesn't care whenever her peers talk about Hyemi but she always wants to know more about the said girl. Until one day she hears a rumor that Baekhyun , her boyfriend, likes Hyemi and that's sets her off. Minah loves Baekhyun so much and assumes that he feels the same way.
