*[ nicknames ] ray: when she was living in japan, before she moved to korea, mirae made friends with a american exchange student.  one day the exchange student asked about the origin of mirae's name in korean.  mirae explained that "tae" meant sun and "mirae" meant future.  after explaining, the transfer student began to call mirae, "ray", an american name for males.  the transfer student explained it as a shorter way of saying "sun rays," also because the second part of her first name sounded like "ray" and how her smile was equivalent to the sun.  it used to be a name that only the american exchange student called her, but now it has become a name that everyone calls her.

[ style ] mirae doesn’t like to alter her uniform and she likes it neat and clean.  but, to give herself individuality she likes to do her makeup and style her hair.  her makeup is very natural both in and outside of school; people can’t tell if she’s wearing makeup or not, when she really it.  the difference between her in school appearance and out of school appearance differs with her hair.  In school, she likes to tie her hair in to a ponytail (1 2 3 4), in to a bun (1 2), or braid it (1), but outside of school she lets her hair down either straight or curled.  as for what she wears outside of school, she prefers a sophisticated look with black, white, and pale shades of turquoise, blue, pink, yellow, and brown.  she also prefers floral dresses (1 2), skirts matched with blouses (1 2 3 4 5), and blue jeans with simple shirts (1 2).  and the, for shoes she’ll wear sandals, flats, or heels.  and, at home she wears tank tops and either sweat pants or shorts.

[ personality ] bright, mature, smart, spineless, weak 

mirae is known for being bright.  she's very polite and always looks at the brighter sides of things.   her parents always praise her for being mature and humble.  she has always been a mature young woman who always listened and followed orders.  she is also very smart and nice.  maybe a little too nice.  she's one of those people who can be taken advantage of and will let it slide even if she knows it or not.  she isn't very talkative, but she likes to talk to her little brother a lot because he always listens and she knows that her family are the only people that won't hurt her.  in relationships, mirae shines dimly.  she becomes very shy and takes some time to get used to, but she'll try to be loving as possible. 

but, mirae is also spineless and weak.  she can't stand up for herself and can't speak up.  majority of the time she knows that she is being taken advantage of and wants to say no but her voice always chokes up and she chickens out.  mirae is also good at putting up a facade, that everything is okay when it really isn't.  she's very convincing and good at holding things in, which flaws her maturity.  if she really was mature she would get help, but she can't bring herself to do it.  a trait that she used to not have before was denial.  in japan she would never deny anything and be honest, because she has never been bullied before, but now it's something that she does on a regular basis.  

[ background ] it wasn't like this before.

living inside japan used to be her wonderland.  she had a boyfriend, good friends, and no troubles; except for the fact that her and her family were is a car accident when she was seven years old.  all of them walked away with minor injuries, but left her with scars on the inside.  her parents are full korean, but as they were starting a family they moved to fukuoka, japan because mirae's father got a good job offer.  until her first year of high school, in japan, everything went well but her parents all of a sudden made the decision to move back to korea.  it took a year for them to plan their move then before her second year of high school the family moved.  her and her brother had to leave their wonderful life behind and start a new.

before attending school the tae family had a little over a month to settle down before becoming active in korea. during this time mirae and minhyuk’s parents were finding new jobs and the two siblings were trying to adjust to their new lives.  the two had to get used to the new culture and to the fact that they left everything behind in a different country.  minhyuk had an easy time adjusting, but mirae struggled a little; she was still trying to accept the fact that she was kilometers away from her first love.  at first she would only stay inside her new home and message daisuke, which isn’t like her since she’s normally out and about, so her brother helped her adjust to the new life.  even though he’s a emotionless hermit, he opened her eyes to the pros of living in seoul.  he introduced her to k-pop to get her mind off of daisuke, even though it gave her unrealistic fantasies, and he took introduced her to a park nearby their home and bought her, her favorite ice cream.  minhyuk helped to start the transition, and she realized the powerful side effect of love and new beginning.  she is still adjusting, but she is better than before as at least once a week her and her brother go someplace new with each other until they are fully comfortable in the new environment.

mirae hasn’t been bullied before, so the experience is new to her.  at first everything things seemed to lighten up for her since she has moved to korea, but at the end of her second week of school she begins to get weird messages on her facebook about weird secrets of hoseok and jungkook.  at this moment hoseok and mirae still only chat from time to time, but she is seen with jungkook more because of her brother.  later, she gets more messages as she begins to tutor hoseok, but they are more hostile than before; she doesn’t show anyone because she thinks she can handle it.  but, it only gets worse as they interact more.  mirae gets tripped from time to time as she walks around school, her locker gets filled with trash, lunches get “accidentally” spilled onto her, her desk is moved into the courtyard multiple times, water in her book bag, cyber bullying reaches her cell phone and is sent by unknown numbers, and she gets locked in the bathroom or any unpopulated rooms.  on top of that she is being used by her peers for their laziness and her brains.  at first she doesn’t mind the meaningless messages and being used, but she begins to bottle things up and her personality becomes unstable as frustration, stress, anger, and depression overwhelms her.  she silently cries herself to sleep at night and as she showers, becomes less social and slightly reverts to how she was when she first moved to korea but not a lot so her brother doesn’t get a red flag, smiles less, and sometimes has a random mood swing by the littlest thing.  as things get worse she thinks about running away to japan or self-harm.  at first she uses her hot hair tools to burn herself on her upper arm to relieve the pain and once the pain from that fails she attempts to run away, but hoseok is the “hope” in her life and saves her...eventually.

• sunflowers; her love of sunflowers originated from her ex-boyfriend from japan.  as a way of trying to woo her, every day at school he brought her a sunflower
• mint chocolate chip ice cream; mirae likes the freshness of the mint ice cream and the sweet chocolate
• the seasons winter and spring; mirae likes the pure snow in the winter and the beautiful flowers that bloom after, in the spring
• rabbits; she can't resist the fluffy animals.  her favorite rabbit is the blanc de hotot
• strawberry anything; mirae likes the sweet and tart flavor from strawberries.  i.e. strawberry milk, chocolate covered strawberries, strawberry yogurt, strawberry smoothies, etc.
• walking; she doesn't like exercising, but she enjoys to take walks around parks or to get to anywhere, unless it's too far
• the singer k.will; she enjoys his beautiful voice and that he sings according to season.  her favorite song is love blossom

• summer; the summer to her is too hot
• thunderstorms; she has a fear of thunder and lightning storms because when she was little, her parent, younger brother, and her were returning home from a family trip from the mountains and they got into an accident while a storm was starting.  all of them survived
• bitter and sour foods; the taste is very unappealing to her
• when people are mean or sad; she doesn't understand how people can be so mean to others and she feels like no one should feel sad

tae hyungsik \\ father \\ 42 \\ office worker \\ he's very bright like mirae, a very jolly man.  he's where she gets her personality from.  he's very caring and would do anything to support his family, especially his children. \\ mirae is a daddy's girl and she's closer to her father than mother.  she'll go to her dad for anything from money to a listening ear; but she doesn't use him.  it's always laughs and smiles between the two \\10 

tae mikyung \\ mother \\ 40 \\ cashier at a grocery store and house wife \\ she's a very warm mother majority of the time.  her husband is too soft hearted, so when it comes to disipline, she's the one to do it.  she doesn't have the tolerance for bad behavior.  she's very caring of her children, and all she wants is the best for mirae and minhyuk \\ the two interact like mother and daughter.  mirae always goes to her for girl problems since she can't talk to her father about everything. \\ 10

tae minhyuk \\ younger brother \\ 16 \\ high school student \\ minhyuk is known for being the total opposite of mirae.  he shows no emotion majority of the time and no affection.  he can sometimes have an attitude.  also he seems as if he doesn't care a lot of the time, but he really does on the inside and his protective of mirae.  minhyuk is also a game freak, he likes to play games on his phone or on any game console he has; his favorite is zombie/killing games \\ majority of the time it's mirae talking to him and he normally just answers with one worded answers, but he always listens to her and when she really needs him he'll be there for her. also when they spend time together at the mall or anywhere, it's always one sided, mirae dragging her brother around as they walk with linked arms \\ 8

song daisuke \\ first ex-boyfriend \\ 17 \\ high school student \\ daisuke is very thoughtful, smart, and sweet.  when mirae and daisuke were together he was the perfect boyfriend to her.  he was a gentlemen and knew what to do and what not to do at appropriate times.  also he's half korean and half japanese \\ the two are still friends, the reason why they broke up was because they think they wouldn't be able to stand long distance relationships.  they message each other once and awhile to see how the other is doing, their feeling for each other still lingers, but mirae is slowly moving on but daisuke is having some trouble \\ 7 

jung sumin \\ unknown rival \\ 18 \\ sumin is obsessive, protective of her "property," she likes to play games and win them all.  sumin is also spoiled and rich so she thinks she's hot stuff.  she's also insecure about herself even thought it seems like she isn't manjority of the time \\ personality traits \\ mirae has never met this girl before, but this girl is the mastermind behind mirae's bullying because she's jealous/threatened of the new girl taking all of her guy friends away, the bangtan boys, specifically hoseok.  she is bullying mirae because her and hoseok had a past.  hoseok used to like yoorae, but she played hard to get with him, playing with his emotions and feelings, being off and on, making him frustrated and confused, sending him mixed signals until he stopped the confusing game with her.  once she realized what she lost what she could've had, she became bitter and decided to cause misfortune to any girl hoseok liked until he came back to her.  her and her posy spread rumors about mirae, cyber bully her, send her threats, etc until mirae gives up hoseok.  but not only is yoorae obsessed with hoseok but she was very protective of jungkook.  she used to be jungkook's only noona and she liked that but since mirae moved to seoul she feels like mirae is taking her spot in their lives, but it's sumin's fault for doing this for herself.  why is this?  it's because to make hoseok jealous, she would flirt with jungkook and once hoseok decided to cut the complicated girl out of his life he brought jungkook along with him too \\ 1

[ personality ] hoseok: goofy, shameless, loyal, passionate; jungkook: pure, adorable, nice, caring

hoseok: hoseok is the type of goofy and shameless guy who doesn't feel embarrassed and will make everyone else giggle/laugh and blush in embarrassment.  but, even though he is like this, he also knows his limits; like he won't act up in class or anywhere inappropriate.  hoseok is a very friendly person; so, even though him and this other person don't really know each other, he'll act like they have been friends for years; he doesn't feel the walls of cliques.  also, he is equivalent to a puppy; he is cute and loyal.  he isn't too smart, more like a little bt below average (has more common sense than book smarts), and has a passion for dancing.  hoseok also has  a thing for skin ship.  then just like anyone else, when the people he cares about are threatened, he'll stand up for them.

jungkook: jungkook is the pure maknae.  he's known for being cute even though he doesn't mean to.  jungkook is also very thoughtful.  So, if he sees someone that he known and needs help or looks bothered by something he'll ask what's wrong.  but, even though just just seems like the cute child, he knows when to step up and be a man.  for example, in a relationship people will think he'll be the inferior, but he'll be very dominant.  jungkook is also very book smart, but lacks a bit of common sense.  and, along with hoseok, he has a passion for dance as well.

[ interaction ] when mirae and hoseok and jungkook met, it was mirae's first day of school.  the two arrived to school a little late, like when they entered the school building first bell rang, and they had to report to the office to get their schedules.  So as all the students were heading to class, the the were flustered on where to go.  hoseok noticed the two scurrying around trying to ask for help, but people weren't assisting them, so he goes to help.  quickly explaining where to go he leaves to go to his class and the two head off to the office.  later on staff members bring the two to class, minhyuk is in the same class as jungkook and they sit next to each other and jungkook becomes minhyuk's first friend; but, it takes a while due to minhyuk's personality.  as the friendship blossoms, that's how jungkook is introduced to mirae and he develops a crush on her. meanwhile, mirae is in the same class as hoseok, but they don't sit next to each other. 

when hoseok and mirae interact it's normally small conversations with giggles and smiles, but later on as they study with one another because hoseok needs to bring his grades up and mirae offered to help. and as they hang out more hoseok begins to have feelings for her, and so does mirae but she's still trying to get over daisuke.  also when they study he can't help but do aegyo in front of her to make her smile and laugh; he only does aegyo to the girls he likes. also sometimes outside of school they bump into each other.  for example, sometimes she'll be at the park seeking peace from the hectic life and he would be with a friend, heading somewhere, or spending time to himself, since he doesn't live too far from the park too, and he'll just join her.  he buys her ice cream a few times too and shows her all the hidden hot spots around korea that she would normally passes by when they become really good friends.  

as for jungkook, he's one of her first friends that she has made since she moved to korea.  he acts very shy and timid around her and she sees him as a cute kid; so she treats him like her like minhyuk.  but, jungkook doesn't like the fact that she treats him like that so he tries to man himself up every time he sees her.  she links arms with him and is very chatty with junkook, just like how she is with her brother.  his goal is to chage the way she sees him and to hopefully become a potential boyfriend.  he finds out about her bullying and self-harm before hoseok, which he eventually tell hoseok in a long run since he can't keep it in any more, but hoseok sort of already knows but he is waitng for mirae herself to call for him.  but it's a while before junkook tells him because he promises to keep it a secret even though it is hard for him and he tries to secretly prevent the bullying behind her back, but it only gets worse as the bullies, who are girls, see as she is manipulating junkook.
