Alice in Wonderland sequel

In the midst of a hazy forest lies an old tree, bent down and wrecked by time. Its leaves that fall by summer and bloom bywinter, its roots that spread throughout a long distance. The rare, misty fog that surrounds it which makes it nearly invisible to the eye that goes all over its air. The daunting hole that resides in the bottom of the tree gave another mystery in its existence. Its leaves that were rumored to change its colors by nighttime were a mystery amongst the bystanders, but none believed them, creating madness among them. Some tried to capture the tree, some tried to find it.

However, all attempts were vain.

What the tree is was another question amongst the witnesses. How its specie was known to be rare, unique, and extinct but was mysteriously found in regions of the world fascinated the scientist. They performed all logical explanations about its ambiguity, but all were too blurry and unclear to the listeners.

But what the tree hides within was all the mystery no one thought of: why is there a hole in its roots? What the scientists didn’t know was that it was the lone tree itself that citizens around the world saw, that it was the same tree they’ve been reporting over and over again. It was the only tree that bore the portal to another dimension. A dimension where Kings and Queens rule, where soldiers don’t use guns and bombs to war but rather spears and swords, and where animals speak as if they were humans themselves;

…The Underland.

“Mommy,” a little girl called her mom, “Is wonderland real?” she asked.

Her mom chuckled, seeing nothing but a pure child’s innocence. She lifted her up in her lap and kissed her cheek. “I cannot tell you that, sweetie,” she smiled, “There are things in the world left in our imagination. And this wonderland that you speak of,” she paused as she giggles, “is for your eyes to witness only.”

The child frowned of her mom’s answer. “But is Wonderland real, mom?”

“Sweetie, Wonderland is – “

“Alice,” a voice called, “Time to get ready. The carriage is coming. We need to move now, dear.”

She smiled at the tender voice of her sister. Ever since Alice found the man whom she chose to marry, she has been very fond of taking care of their child. She felt the love that she knew her daughter needed, and she made sure that she gets all the care and love that she needs. She told her stories about her adventures in the Underland, especially about her first dream about it, but of course, she didn’t tell her daughter that it was her.

She dropped her gently on the floor.

The little girl’s frown went deeper, now that she cannot ask her mother more about her dream land. “Aw, mommy,” she pouted, “Promise me you’ll tell me more about the Wonderland.”

“Sure, sweetie, I will.”
