bashing, fanwars, and talent

so allkpop just released this really stupid article about how yg and jyp are going to debut boy groups and try to catch up with sm and exo.

of course it caused a fanwar. what with people bashing on exo and saying how winner will be so much better because they have so much more talent.

it made me realize (not that i didn't before, haha) that though exo is really popular, they've also attracted a lot of hate (i'm pretty sure those rumors of annoying exotics are caused by exo antis). people are just so eager to see them go down because they're just a bunch of "pretty faces".

as an exo stan, of course i got a little defensive. i like winner and all (still sad that team b lost :( ), but sometimes yg fans piss me off when they start wars with sm stans. and vice versa of course.

exo has talent. crazy, freaking talent. haters will hate. though i may dislike a group, i always recognize talent when i see it (usually why i like kpop groups).

chen, baekhyun, and do are crazy good vocals. they never fail to stun me with their high notes and adlibs (which, in my opinion, are some of the best in kpop as of late)

luhan, xiumin, and suho have some of the steadiest, powerful, strong vocals i've heard from a kpop group. they're actually all-around talented.

kai, lay, and sehun have really neat, precise dancing << something i love to see. they've proven a thousand times over how amazing they are - not just with choreo.

kris, tao, and chanyeol has great voices for rapping. kris has that amazing husky voice while tao raps with so much energy that i always feel upbeat. chanyeol's beat when he raps is amazing and clearly punctuated.

just because a group becomes mainstream popular, doesn't mean they're not talented. there are, of course, some things that become mainstream that are not talented at all. but exo really has it. talent, perfect attitude and work ethic, and even the looks. just because they're handsome or come from sm doesn't mean that they don't have talent.

sm may scout on the streets, but they won't accept anyone without talent. people get scouted for their looks, but it takes talent to pass the audition. yg and winner can bring a whole new side into the kpop industry (team b TT TT) but it doesn't change the fact that exo are not just pretty faces ready for the cameras.

they are kids with amazing talent who worked hard to follow their dreams.

sorry, got a little carried away. whenever i see people (especially yg and winner people T.T) comment on how excited they are to see winner bring exo 'down', it just irritates me. but in all, i'm actually very excited for jyp's new boy band! and winner of course (team b TT TT)

LOl you really like team b ;D I like both of them but actually maybe team A a little bit more ebcause of kang seungyoon on high kick XD
that's what annoys me that most as well.. some people think that some popular artists are just popualr because of their looks not talent but to be honest nobody in the industry is going to take you in just for your face. SM looks for looks and talent

But yeah, people piss me off when they say EXO isn't talented. I may not stan them like I do Infinite or BTS or even D-Unit, but I like them enough and know they're talented. In fact, it would surprise people that Yixing actually wrote his own songs before. Or people don't look into the fact that Minseok is friends with Dongwoo and N, both being dancers, leading to the fact that Minseok has shown an aptitude for dance, even though he's usually outshined by members like Kai and Yixing. Jongdae just kind of excels in everything, but people just see him for singing and even then, he still gets some crap about it (I've seen it, and most people say his voice makes them cringe because of how his voice sounds, which I think is crap.)

But I'm not going to lie, I think it's odd how people want to make bands as big as 12 people now because EXO and SJ are popular. I mean, it's good for the trainees that get to be in the bands, but 12+ people can be sometimes unmanageable. EXO really lucked out with having 12 members that are pretty low key and respectful for the most part, while it could have been much worse if any of them were more outspoken than they are.

And allkpop is really crappy and they don't care if they present wrong information. They don't even apologize or anything, they just let people believe fiction over fact, it's crazy.

I dislike fanwars, because most times they are so dumb and childish and people are just trying to get a rise out of people. And yeah, EXO gets a lot of hate because of SM, many people saying they aren't talented enough, but seriously, EXO has many talents and it doesn't matter if not all can sing, rap, or dance, even though most can. (Minseok can act really well... ) But yeah, not all have to have those talents, some can be good at acting or variety and still be important because even if they don't get lots of lines or something, they can be a good asset to the team elsewhere. But not many understand that.

(I hated Winner to be honest, but I just remember the time when Hyunseung was on the tv show that made Big Bang and ever since he was booted off that show, all he does is practice, practice, practice. Most of their variety shows, whenever Beast had off, Hyunseung was practicing, not having fun like the other members. And knowing that, I could not watch Win because most people would fall in love with both teams and feel like crap at the end because of it. (Seriously, everyone is sad that Team B lost, but nobody said anything until the end when it was a definite thing. Should have just boycotted it at the beginning and things probably would have been different. And even though Team B might not be disbanded, I bet the group is a bit scarred by what happened... And sorry I totally got off track here.)

I agree with this haha. I'm an EXO fan but I'm a YG stan and I like winner a lot (and team b was my favorite T.T) So when I see people causing a fanwar, it kind of hurts? Like, is this really called for?
They both have talents; they'll both see each other and bow to each other. Hell, some of the members might become friends with the other group. I just wish people weren't so immature and actually accepted the fact that there are other people out there that are talented and stuff. It's getting really ridiculous but it's my opinion. ^^;
