My Explorer group wants to raise enough money (specifically approx. £3000 per person to go to the INTERNATIONAL JAMBOREE in Japan 2015. There are about either 3 or 4 of us that would like to go (incl. me). It's alot of money and we only have about 2 years to raise enough.

We are planning to do many fundraising events for this. Two of the boys are thinking of doing a sponsored bike ride. And since Children In Need is about to start, I am hoping that we could raise lots of money to help us. 50% of what we raise will go to Children In Need.

But a Bike ride will obviously not be enough, I have a few ideas of what we could do.

.Create & Sell Christmas Cards (Chinese art is getting recognisable, maybe a Chinese-style watercolour design?)

.Shave hair off (don't think i could get rid off all my hair, how about the sides get shaven? I'm sure boys will shave all their hair though.)

The problem is that we are based in an area of England that isn't that rich, so we can't get any big companies to sponsor us.

That shouldn't stop us. So we need lots of ideas. Does anyone know great ideas that could help us fundraise and gain attention?
