Jaehwa is an energetic and fun-loving girl with a wild side and a secret love for astronomy and mythology. She is athletic and can be very unpredictable, as she enjoys testing the waters and being a bit of a prankster and a trickster. She's a fan of magic and likes to amaze others with tricks involving cards, colorful scarves and optical illusions. Being a bit of an attention-seeker, she's also a little arrogant and sometimes even rude when someone really makes her lose her mind.

 

She loves children, but hates the work it usually involves. Playing and taking care of them, sure, but she's not the best cook nor does she want to. Even in stressful situations, she has a tendency of being a bit sarcastic in order to tune down the seriousness a little. She's bold, brave, outspoken and honest to the point of becoming harsh. Kim Jaehwa was born on 04 June 1993 to Kim Jiyong, a hospital director, and Im Yejin, a housewife and former model, in Incheon, South Korea. She is the middle child out of three siblings, two brothers, making her the only girl besides her mother. During her childhood, she was often spoiled rotten by her parents, especially her mother, who was so happy to have finally gotten a daughter like she wanted to. Her father was a bit absent from some parts of her life because of his busy life at work and workaholic tendencies, but they were still a united and happy family. Jaehwa was always a very active person. She'd be the child climbing in trees, running around and getting injures as she fell somewhere along the way, but this never stopped her from enjoying life itself.

 

When she started high school, she became a calmer and more mature person. She found great interest in reading and writing, spending a lot of her free time day dreaming and plotting out stories for the future. Her parents never really noticed until she came home one day after school and told her parents straight out, "I want to be a writer!" They were quite shocked by this and were rather hesitant to adapt to her sudden change of plans. At least, her mother was. Her father protested right away, which angered his only daughter. As soon as she graduated, she moved to Seoul and applied to a local university there, where she started with a major in Classic Literature and a minor in Communications & Media.

Howon (Hoya) is quiet, observant and definitely a bit of a mystery. He emits this cold and charismatic aura, giving off the impression of "attractive and unapproachable" as Jaehwa has dubbed it. He is usually a very calm, cool and collected kind of person, but he can have a bit of a temper on a day bad day, but usually avoids showing it in public. Underneath the so-called cold side of him, is a very warm and sweet guy who's a bit of a dork. He finds it a bit hard expressing his emotions, preferring actions over words. He is smart, attentive and protective of his loved ones.

First Meeting : 

Howon was at the coffee shop for the first time, and Jaehwa was chatting to some of her co-workers when he came up to the front desk and asked about the café's choice of pastries. She was a bit surprised at hearing him talk, hearing a voice that did not really suit the dark-haired man standing in front of her. Her voice was fortunately steady as she gave him a list of their choices; he thanked her quickly and left. He left an impression on her.

Relationship : 

Noticing that Howon kept coming back, Jaehwa tried talking to him while he was there, showing off their recommendations and asking him about his day. He wasn't big on responding in the beginning, but after a while they began exchanging quick greetings which turned into short conversations and even exchanging numbers (after a long time). Jaehwa was pretty happy about getting to know the guy underneath, although he was hesitant about opening up about himself and being more of a listener than anything else. Howon appreciates Jaehwa's attempts at jokes, and some of her puns even makes him laugh a little. Jaehwa feels a weird pull towards this guy she hasn't felt in a while, wanting to spend more and more time with him, in and outside of the shop.

Ending : It's going a bit back and forth between them, sending each other mixed signals and wondering what's really going on with their relationship. In the end, due to Howon being the way he is, Jaehwa builds up the courage to ask him out on a date. They connect really well and end up progressing towards a loving relationship.
