Personal information

Personality: Hoojung is that one person you look at and make assumptions about. Guess what? She doesn't care. She does what she wants and you cannot judge her without getting to know her first. She's stubborn and impulsive, and will not change her mind unless someone begs her a lot. She's not really aggressive unless provoked, and isn't bothered when people call her he-she. But she's bothered when people blame her for doing things she would never do. She has beliefs that she sticks by, and is very loyal to family and friends.

 However stubborn Hoojung may be, she respects authority and doesn't usually question them, only when her morals and beliefs are questioned does she speak against them. Hoojung doesn't anger easily, because she thinks everyone deserves a second chance...thing is, once she's mad at you, you'll probably die instantly. She may not anger easily, but once angry, she's like a raging fire, because, damn it, it takes a lot for her to get mad and that means you've got to be eliminated. She's especially protective over her friends, but she will defend people she has just met, too, just not to the same extent. With friends, she's like the mother you don't want to piss off or go against. With peers, she's not afraid of making a bad impression and just acts the way she would normally act. However, she does try to avoid conflict when possible, so is sometimes perceived as a silent loner around unfamiliar people. 

Biography: Hoojung was born one day before Christmas eve to a very surprised couple. They hadn't expected her until at least two weeks later. Nevertheless, the cared for her very meticulously, having lost their first child when he was three (and Hoojung one). They spoiled her a bit but she was also taught to respect authority. She was a very good student, especially in the chemistry fields. She was often in the top 30 of her grade. She was a relatively normal Korean girl. She didn't care much for her looks and often just had a bowl cut to keep it simple.  

After she entered college as a chemistry major, her mother died of a . Especially saddened, Hoojung dropped out of college. She had a one year degree in chemistry, but nothing else. She was depressed, but with her dad's help, got better. When she was twenty, she decided to do what her mother had always wanted to: be a professional chef. Hoojung didn't have the finesse to be a very fancy chef, but she figured she could be of some use in the kitchen. And so she signed up for culinary school.

Trivia: 1) her name was supposed to be Hoojong (후종) but the nurse heard wrong and wrote Hoojung (후정). Her family didn't mind so they kept it that way.

3) She has had two boyfriends and one girlfriend before.

4) Her first boyfriend (one year) and girlfriend (4 months) ended in good terms, however, her latest ex (7 months) ended up badly. In fact, she thinks that he may be stalking her, mainly because she sees him a lot "coincidentally".

5) Hoojung is mostly tomboyish, but has her hair very short because of an incident during culinary school that set her hair on fire.

Hobbies: 1) science experiments (from simple sugar crystals to testing the best cooking oil...)

Fears/ Phobias: 1) she's scared of hitting people in a car (since that's how her elder brother was killed), so she absolutely refuses to drive. She wakes up earlier to get to places, but no matter what, will not drive the car herself. This applies for most automated vehicles.

Original ambition: She wanted to be a chemist of some sort, maybe working in the medical field to develop medicines and cures. 

Where did you gain the experience?: She dropped out of university to attend a specialized culinary school. 

How much experience do you have?: 4-5 years culinary school 

Experience in the kitchen, if any: Can fry things very well. She can make it as crispy or greasy as people want. Not afraid of fire and can do the job very quickly. 

Reason for taking the job?: She figured she'd better start making money. She still dreams of returning to university and pursuing her chemistry major. She figures she can be a food scientist or something.

Kim Jaejoong | 27 | culinary school teacher | Jaejoong is a caring person that usually puts others before himself. However, he knows his breaking point and by then he will do whatever is necessary to get him out of the stress, even if it means hurting others. He is helpful, friendly, and just enough sarcastic to be funny. He's talkative and friendly and doesn't judge others based on first impressions, but he is good at reading people. He helped Hoojung a lot when she struggled with cooking in the beginning. He was also the one to advise Hoojung in breaking up with her obssessive (now ex) boyfriend. He is her best friend.

Jung Yunho | 27 | medical student | Yunho is Jaejoong's fiancé. Before, he had many issues, including anger management issues. They dated when they were both in highschool, but they broke up a year later when Yunho went too far in one of his angry fits. He has since gotten help and is now more understanding and caring and wishes to help others. He is rather jealous and seems cold and aloof at first, but warms up quickly. He is a bit of an awkward person and can say strange things. He is terrible at telling jokes and messes up punchlines. 

Lover: 

Ha Jaeseok | 25 | freelance journalist | Jaeseok is a clutz. He is ditzy and is always in his own world. He's kind and means well, but he is generally oblivious and naïve to the world. He sees beauty where others see trash, and is a bit too faithful in people. | Ulzzang: Yang Gyubin

How you met: Jaeseok and Hoojung were friends in highschool. They met when Jaeseok accidentally wandered into the girls' bathroom. Hoojung politely told him of his mistake and he ran outside, embarrassed. They started talking during lunch, when he accidentally ran into a pole. Hoojung thought he was pretty stupid...in an oddly endearing way. 

Status in the fic: ex-boyfriend (started dating a month after they met, ended it when he had to move to Ulsan.) ; friends. Hoojung still likes him, pretty sure he still likes her.

Interaction with each other currently: They act as if they're still dating - but they're not. Jaeseok is the sweet puppy like boyfriend that pretty much every girl would want. Hoojung and he often hang out and catch up on what they've missed in each other's lives. 

Problems?: Jaeseok, as a freelance writer, often travels. He also enjoys traveling. Hoojung is rather terrified of traveling in any automated vehicle (even if she isn't driving). Also, even though Jaeseok and Hoojung still like each other, Jaeseok also likes another girl back in Ulsan. He's only in Seoul for six months to briefly write for a newspaper there before traveling to do some work for a travel magazine.

Oh Saebyul | 26 | makeup artist | Saebyul is very rebellious and tries acting tough. However, she's not as macho as one might think. Being the youngest of her siblings, she's been rather sheltered and spoiled throughout her life. She's not very street smart and rather clumsy. | Ulzzang: Park Younghee

How you met: Saebyul and Hoojung were both shopping at the same store. Saebyul was walking and tripped, falling flat on her face. Hoojung couldn't help but laugh, but she did help the other up. Saebyul was rather flustered and demanded Hoojung take her to get a drink in compensation for not catching her. 

Status in the fic: kind of friends, the ones that talk occasionally and don't know too much about each other

Interaction with each other currently: They sometimes meet up to go shopping together. They mostly talk about their jobs and make small talk, nothing too indepth.

Problems?: It seems as if Hoojung's crazy ex has a thing for tomboys, because her ex is dating Saebyul. He no longer stalks Hoojung, thankfully. However, Hoojung hates hanging out with Saebyul if the crazy boyfriend is involved...
