Personality: Yuna is an energetic and unpredictable tomboy with a wild side and a secret love for astronomy and mythology. She is athletic and spends a lot of her time experimenting with those around her, whether they're objects or people. She enjoys testing the waters, being a bit of a prankster and a trickster. She's a fan of magic, often amazing her friends with tricks involving cards, colorful scarves and optical illusions. She'sa bit of an attention seeker, a little arrogant and sometimes even rude when someone really makes her lose her mind.

 

She loves children, but hates the work it usually involves. Playing with them and taking care of them, sure, but she's not the group's best cook and she doesn't want to be either. Even in stressful situations, she has a tendency of being a bit sarcastic in orer to tune down the seriousness a little. She's bold, brave, outspoken and honest to the point of becoming harsh. Background: Choi Yuna was born on April 11, 1994, to Choi Jiyong, an author, and Choi Jaehwa, a music teacher and pianist, in Jeonju, South Korea. She is the older twin sister of Mina and the third youngest in the entire family. When she was 4, her parents moved to Busan for a change of scenery and to get closer to her father's publishing company in Seoul. Her father was a big fan of Shinhwa and brought her and her sister to one of their concerts, where both of them fell in love with their stage presence and unity. Yuna was a bit of a strange kid, jumping from one activity to another and never really deciding what suited her the most.

 

Yuna tried out a lot of activities during elementary and middle school, including martial arts, soccer, archery and basketball. She loved sports and connecting with other people, resulting in a lot of different cliques to hang out with. She would always post videos of herself on the internet, and sometimes included her sister in them. When they were at the mall with friends once, a representative came up to them and introduced himself as a talent scout from SM Entertainment. Mina remembered the concert from a long time ago and managed to convince her sister to join along with her. They auditioned in 2010.
