Contrary to what some may think, no, I have not left TVXQ for EXO.

TVXQ is the sole reason why I got into KPOP. If not for TVXQ, I won't be here. If not for TVXQ, I won't meet EXO. If not for TVXQ, I would have not tried dancing again. If not for TVXQ, I won't be enjoying my current job as an English Teacher to Koreans. I will always and forever be grateful to TVXQ because I met a lot of wonderful people through them.

As an EXO fan, it's really tough being judged by some for liking them. Hearing statements such as, "You replaced TVXQ for EXO." hurts. The reason why I was a closet EXO fan (I was a fan from the very  beginning, but only decided to be all-out only recently) was because I am afraid to hear that statement from my closest Cassie friends. Loyalty to your mother fandom has become quite an issue nowadays.

EXO deserves a chance because they worked hard to be where they are now. They are talented. They are lovable. They deserve all the love they receive from their fans. They have dreams too. TVXQ worked hard to be on where they are right now, and I see those qualities in EXO too. I saw a lot of similarities between TVXQ and EXO, which made me love the latter group easily.

For me, liking EXO doesn't equate to abandoning TVXQ. Just because I am into EXO now, it doesn't mean that I already threw away my love for TVXQ. I will never betray my mother fandom. Liking EXO is not betraying TVXQ.

Even though TVXQ has gone through a lot of through the years, I am confident that they will come back better and stronger. They wouldn't have lasted for 10 years if they were a bunch of sissies and weaklings.

I may be fangirling over EXO now, but I am still a Cassie. And that will never, ever change. I will forever be here, supporting TVXQ.

Please do not hate EXO for being popular now. Each artist has its own time and era. Not that I'm saying that TVXQ's era is already over, but TVXQ has already established their own niche in KPOP history.

Let's give EXO a chance to carve their own.

Don't ever say I walked away on TVXQ, because I will always love them.
