the kyute-geum → a nickname kyugeum uses on himself as a play-on-words to say, 'the cute geum' → nobody else uses this nickname. probably only him and his fans because they pity him(?)

Physique: although he may not seem like the type (personality wise, especially) kyugeum is actuall quite fit as well as tall. he's standing at a height of 177 while contrasted with a weight of 66 kg, which he claims to be mainly muscle. both true and false. although he's not the widest creature out there, he isn't the thinniest. kyugeum is probably somewhere in the middle being at an average body built and size. he's not extremely muscular, but he's got muscle and skin to show. his shoulders are also quite wide, often making his head appear smaller (to some), despite what people say about him having a "big head", or rather him being big-headed. overall, kyugeum carries an physique that isn't personally outstanding, but still good nonetheless. with enough time and effort, he'd be able to get himself abs, and would freely flash them off if he wasn't so shy about his body in the first place.

style: what is fashion? kyugeum doesn't know. his sense of style is mainly based on whatever's given to him. what he usually prefers to wear is sweatpants, and various sweaters. other times, just shorts and tees like any other teenage boy. yet, that style is limited only to the dorm because the cordi noonars and othur peopur give him a fashion put more into taste. because they know kyugeum has so much energy, he's given a style that's meant to be casual and comfortable for the guy, so he's not ripping his pants or tearing off his shirt with every stupid freakin' move he makes. he's often seen wearing teeshirts, and jeans. sometimes skinny jeans because damn, the boy's got legs. his supposed style is actually meant to look a little- hipstery. with the toques and the large glasses (which he needs tbh, because he's actually wearing contacts most of the time); if it's not shirts, it's long sleeves that are mainly kept simple. honestly, kyugeum's style is meant to keep to it's simplicity. to be a little plain, a little less flashy and more.. calm. some people wonder why kyugeum isn't all bling, when really, with his personality, there's enough "bling" to go around.

private lives: to kyugeum, there is no such thing as a private life. everything should be made and done publicly, which is why kyugeum's stupidity isn't limited. wherever he is and wherever he goes, kyugeum is happily frolicking around being this of a country boy who gets easily interested in everything and anything, as well as possibly spreading his idiocy. just picture lulling around an oversized kid, who acts without thinking and laughs at every stupid thing placed in front of him; he's a guy who loves to smile as much as he does making others smile, which is possibly why he has a habit of acting so impulsivly. his impulse is to make people laugh whether it's being stupidly driven to make a fool out of himself, or simply just being himself. this is a very laid-back and carefree sort of character. the type who uses yolo as an excuse to make everything fun without it meaning to. the type of person to give free-hugs without being asked, and also being the type who is easily rejected for being so awkwardly touchy. it's probably because kyugeum thinks that there is no such thing as a harsh reality, thus meaning, no such thing as a bad person. he seems to alway finds the best in people, whether you're a grumpy person or an overly happy person as himself, kyugeum will never hesitate to brefriend anyone. he's never hesitant, and he probably never will be. other traits like this is when he's awfully annoying, probably without trying for the fact that he gets easily clingy to people he happens to like. and that's something to say when kyugeum easily likes everyone. even if you're yelling at him, he by passes it as an excuse that you've had a bad day. and if you're always yelling at him? "oh, they're always having a bad day!" thus making it his "job" to try to make that person happy. but, someone please explain to kyugeum what shame is? because he doesn't have any. nope. there, again, isn't such a thing, unless of course you ask him to strip. if it's you stripping, that's perfectly fine, but the hyprocrite won't even show you his belly button. yet, he's all over everyone else. (smh)

it's for reasons that kyugeum doesn't carry common sense. or he does, he just chooses not to use it, thinking that it makes life as boring as it is. be it making the dumbest ideas like developing flying elephants or finding a wizard to turn everyone into stone, the guy's got something up his sleeve. it's like he never lives down in his optimism. negative thoughts, don't exist apparently, which causes kyugeum to often be a little insensitive about certain topics; he always takes things either as a joke or not as seriously as it should be. that's what makes him a troublesome boy, although he's already, practicaly an adult (just forgotten). sometimes, his actions are ignored, knowing that kyugeum always means well despite his wrong doings. but, other times people have to tell him straight on, otherwise he'll never understand. he's someone who doesn't always learns from his mistakes. sometimes, it's to make repetetive mistakes, because he likes to "keep trying". just wear s stupid grin all day and he should be fine. opposed to this though, he is still human, and even with him chirping the days away, he does get sad. does fall in love and does, most often, get his heart broken like everyone else (or like most, i'm assuming). but, because he's always so used to being treated like the kid he acts, he tries to not bothers others with his problems and feelings, thinking it'll just make people frown. frowning isn't something he tolerates, so he won't do it himself; overall, kyugeum might not be the most serious person. he might be the dumbest, the weirdest, perhaps even the most random and dorky, but knowing that he tries his hardest (even when it doesn't seem like it) for himself and those around him, it's good to know that he does think of others, although people say otherwise. kyugeum may be impossibly immature and possibly the greatest bafoon in korean history, but everyone knows, he's a good person. a person who goes all out for those he doesn't even know, a person who tries even when he's lying about doing absolutely nothing with his life, a person who wills to be your bestfriend or shoudler to cry on. kyugeum, he's a moron. but, a good moron if anything.

background: born and raised in the outskirts of jeju was a weird, yet lively boy named kyugeum. in the early life of this boy was a family. a small family, a father-less family, yet a family overall. kyugeum grew up without a father. never knew who he was, where he was, or why he decided to abandon his mother when he born. it confused the boy, deeply while growing up. questions never being answered when other kids had fathers whereas he hadn't had one of his own. it was something he never understood, and probably wouldn't for a long time. but, it wasn't so bad. he was still left with his mother, who he clung to and loved so dearly as he did so towards his talented, idolized older brother. even without his father, kyugeum still had a family and that alone was something he was happy about. well, all except for the fact that the boy was entirely sheltered. even when living in a quiet island like jeju, his mother always feared of things happening to her young kyugeum. she'd never let him play outside, never let him make friends with kids she found bad influences, and even prevented kyugeum from making any friends at all. of course, only because she felt her baby was so delicate and fragile. she just didn't want him to turn and go towards the wrong path. so, a smart, curious little boy he was. only being able to discover things on his own when his mother wouldn't. he taught himself things, read a couple books, maybe worked hard in school for the fact that he wasn't able to do anything; completely babied all his life. that's all he ever was. a momma's boy, a little daydreamer. a kid who developed nicknames in school because his mother would plant wet kisses to his cheeks. or, generally because his mother was overly protective, and brought out this aura of "lame". kyugeum didn't care. he didnt want to care, and thus never let those mean kids get to him when it happened.

school, though was often a hastle. not because of school itself, but because of the kids attending it. kyugeum was often a victim to the local school bullies. treated a nerd, a little pest. a goody-two-shoes who had a weird, ocd'd mother. he was someone all the kids picked on, perhaps because of his once frugal personality and odd standard in height. kyugeum was treated like a little boy. literally. he was supposedly cute in his kiddy days, and even then would be treated like a useless little booger. he was the pack mule. the one who was picked last for all activites. and a person who was never invited to others. but, even when kids made fun of him, kyugeum always wore a smile. it was odd, especially for those who picked on him. they never understood why, which was what caused them to pick on the kid. they were just so curious as to why he never cracked. nobody knew that it was just because smiling was how he dealt with things. it was how he kept away from showing his true emotions. this theory wasn't even made to it's full installment until kyugeum started telling, and making jokes. yes, jokes. about himself, about those who dissed him. about this, about that. about anything possibly capable of just making anyone laugh. laughing somehow fixed everything, and sooner or later those jokes became something the bullies actually liked. it appeased them, as it did to kyugeum. later, as he aged, he was a little more open about things. a little sillier, more lively when it came to those bullies to the point where he's the one joking about them. i think, it was because of that, his odd way of defense, was how he became to be such a dumby today. making everything a joke, even when it's his time of need to be saved.

sadly though, kyugeum never seemed to mature. he was still so clingy and gushy around his mom. still so chirpy, so smiley every single freakin' time of the day. rain or shine, it's happy time. it was like this kid saw nothing wrong with the world. everything had an excuse, everyone had an excuse. everything just happened to be connected to the better things in life because he was tired of people seeing in negatively. that included kyugeum's life choices, since back then, he had none. they were always made for him, always decided for him. he was always told what to do and never lived on what his heart would tell him, mainly because he was used to being bossed around and was used to being such an obedient . he didn't have dreams. he didn't have goals. he just went with whatever life threw at him, or what his mom threw at him. it's a wonder how music even got to kyugeum. well have to blame his brother for that. his brother was kyugeum's hero. always being this smartass, coolio-tastic guy who did all these magical things with music. kyugeum was easily inspired by his brother, which was how he got into music himself. he originally wanted to follow in his brother's footsteps, even working long days like he did. he respected him so much, especially since his brother took care of him when their mother worked overtime. his brother was his idol and he stayed that way today. it was actually thanks to his brother that kyugeum found his own talent, even if back then he only thought of it as a hobby. it was thanks to his brother that kyugeum was pushed into doing what he wanted. pushed into finding his own dreams and hobbies and pushed into following is heart. his brother was his muse. kyugeum learned from him, imitated him, did whatever possible to be just like him. but, eventually he learns that he can't just leech of someone like his brother. kyugeum had to learn how to build his own character, so when the time was finally right he did just that.

family:

mother | jung bongsun | 58 | florist | sweet, honest, bubbly | kyugeum's mommy is always being this bubbly peice of overprotectivness. and sometimes, when i mean bubbly, i may mean ms. mommy wrapping his son in a ton of bubble-wrap. that's just how things roll. or, how kyugeum is rolled (into bubble-wrap). because kyugeum's mother is always so worried about her kids, she treats kyugeum like a child. even when he's all grown up the way he is, she still deems to think that her baby is a baby. she often coos at him, causing him to either get embarrassed (when s are around) or extremely cuddly, because "ummaaa, saranghaae~. they have an extremely close relationship. almost a bestfriend sort of one, where he can tell her absolutely anything and everything. but, even if they do have this friend-like relation, kyugeum is still aware that she's his mother and, as she is protective of him, he's protective over her. he hates it when men go near his mother and even when s call her pretty, he gets really defensive. if anything, kyugeum feels the only man suitable for his mom is someone who's just like his hyung.

older brother | jung geumseok | 27 | musician/performer | mature, courteous, charming | kyugeum is very clingy. whenever near his brother, he always seems to stick to his side. it's just because he loves his brother so much, and techinically, his brother is his first ever friend. geumseok, of course, loves his little brother, but acts a little more maturely. he isn't as hyper or as touchy around his brother and is actually a little bit awkward when it comes to his brother's skinshippyness. whether it's kyugeum giving him backhugs (despite geumseok being taller), or when kyugeum just decides he likes giving his brother kisses, geumseok always seems to reject his brother's affections. geumseok just likes watching over his little brother, mainly because of his stupidity, whereas kyugeum just loves learning from his hyung. it's quite often that kyugeum is trying to get his brother to open up a lot more, even if they are as close as brothers can get.

trainee buddy |im yungsoo | 18 | idol trainee/student | reserved, intelligent, assertive | a super stubborn guy kyugeum met when he was put into training. this guy is always working so hard, which causes kyugeum to always try to get the guy to smile, because tbh he's extremely stiff. often too serious for kyugeum to work with because he never seems to like taking jokes. to kyugeum, their friends, but we're not really sure about what yungsoo thinks. yungsoo is always trying to avoid kyugeum, trying not to acknowledge the idiot's existence because sometimes he just doesn't leave him alone. kyugeum loves to stick around with this guy, for the fact that he's younger and kyugeum finds him cute. like a tsundere. kyugeum likes tsunderes! it's mainly a love-hate relationship here, where one proceeds to give the love while the other tries hard to shove the hate down the other's throat. (or other ends, if you like it that way. ;d)

profession: being the kid that he is, kyugeum never really had a profession, and even then, didn't have anything he wanted to be. he didn't have a profession at all, and was just a kid studying to be.. something. kyugeum didn't even like the subject he was supposedly "professionalized" with. i mean, he enjoyed writing something- but, studying literature wasn't something he wanted. the only reason why he chose it as his "profession" before was because he didn't know what he wanted to do, or what he was going to do. singing and music was just a hobby. he didn't take it all too seriously. so, before even discovering his wants, kyugeum previously studied to be a novelist. learning the things of how to be observant and all these words and stuff he never really understood. he was only in his first year of university, but wasn't all into it as he thought he would be. but, it wasn't all too surprising when kyugeum's choice of activity was only because he didn't want to be the odd one out. or in this case, the dumb one out. eventually though, what started out to be novelity, soon shifted into film and photography. perhaps it was due to that one script-like assignment kyugeum recieved did he actually find filming a better passion than what he thought writing was. so, soon enough, kyugeum found his way walking around with a camera, filming and creating short films. making life look fun and colorful.

yet, when was music ever getting back into the picture? well, it kind of started like this. when film was first a priority in kyugeum's life, he got a little into youtubing. yes, dare i say it, jung kyugeum as indeed a youtuber. or somewhat of a youtuber anyways. never really showing his face or what he was capable of, but rather just posting film after film of weird, unecessary videos. not all of them got views, and no he wasn't all so known, but he was happy with every final product. the music started here - when a certain short film of kyugeum's didn't have the proper music he had intended. no matter how many songs he went through, no matter how many voices he searched, there just didn't seem to be any song suited for his creation of film. thus, kyugeum made his own, assisted by his older brother, who was luckily a musician of his own. thanks to some of those literature courses, i guess you could say it helped with his lyrical writing? as did everything i suppose. but, singing wasn't something he meant to do. it just happened. the song just happaned and woop-doop-da-doop. once the guy added his very own original, along with his very own short film (of god knows what), the kid started getting views. started getting popular and somehow ended up posting more videos of himself and covers rather than filmwork.

becoming an idol of course wasn't something kyugeum ever thought about. so once upon a time, when some magical man decided to call up this eighteen-year old derp, kyugeum had absolutely no idea where he was headed. apparently, he had a voice. he had talent. he had- a lot of things. but, what the heck was this about becoming a trainee? kyugeum didn't know. kyugeum didn't even expect it. he didn't know it, and probably never would have considering he was a boy who didn't know what he was doing with his life. he was just a kid who started out a writer, to a filmer to what now? a singer? he liked music - he liked it a lot, but kyugeum wasn't sure if he was cut out for this. kyugeum never took his music seriously, and never felt he was going to until it hit him. when he finally re-watched and re-watched film after film, song after song, again and again, to finally understand why he's got viewers and why he got this call. so, what did he do? how did he branch out to music? he didn't. not yet anyways. not until after he agreed to this so-called contract. and then, and only then, did he discover what he wanted to be, and what he profession was. kyugeum may have confused himself along the journey, but i think he found it. he probably wasn't too famous, but he was famous enough - in ways. and although he's a supposed idol now, or soon-to-be anyways. the kid's continuing to film. because, hey, a passion is a passion. who said you couldn't have more than just one?
 

trainee life: there are a lot of trainees go through these days, and kyugeum was just unfortunate to be one of those involved in it. although he was a very bright person, trying his best to get on people's good sides, he didn't have a lot of friends, or rather didn't make very many considering he only ever had one friend growing up (aka his older brother). somehow he managed to be an awkward social butterfly that had a lot to say about a lot of things. to others it seemed like he was a foolish boy who didn't take this training thing seriously. but, he did. yes, yes he did. kyugeum worked his off to get to where he is now. mainly because the oppuritunity of becoming a trainee was a long-shot all on it's own. heck, he was just a youtuber, blogger person thing, yet what the heck was he doing with all these actually, legible, talented people all around him? if he was going to be given the chance, he should use it wisely. so like anyone else, he put himself into overdrive. practicing extra hours, learning techniques he wasn't personally taught, taking skills from others he observed because he found that life as a trainee was a competetion. it's to either fail while trying, or succeed while giving it all you got. so, even when he kept this happy, "hey i'm a friendly guy" attitude, kyugeum was very careful about who he worked with. never wanted to tick people off or cause trouble, because who knows who he'd end up with? in his defense, he found that he could both work hard and be a friendly guy by doing just both. working hard with others. it was basically just kyugeum working the days away while he began spreading a total virus of encouragment to people. it could have been false hope to some, but to kyugeum it was also his way of showing that if you could do anything, he could do it too. his trainee life was probably the first thing kyugeum ever actually put effort into. effort as in effort. as in going above expectations and taking whatever he could. it was something that was worth it, for both himself and those he learns to call his bandmates.
