• born into a rice & soy dominated farm family, w/ seasonal veg and some cattle
• trained in harvesting and soy production
• very little knowledge in butchering because squimish..
• often made deliveries to neighbouring shops with her dad, so quite known for being the little girl hefting small bags of rice and yams
• was always pretty shy because her mom made her think all adults (except dad) would be hostile around her
• grew up on constant reminder that maybe her mom just wanted a son
• if not harvesting and feeding the cattle, she was inside helping her mom and baby brother package goods in silence
• in middle school she figures she doesn't wants out of simdong. her life is content here but not exactly happy
• go to a bigger school, she thinks
• get a good job. start anew and in get cool for once
• do it for herself. not for mom. nothing she'll do will get her mom to like her and she still doesnt know why
• invests the rest of her hs life studying while hanging out with her one friend every now and again
• pays off! gets into her uni of choice to study botany aka plant science because plants are beautiful!!! she sees them everyday!! also minor in eng cuz it takes you places apparently, the aunties down the road keep talking about it
• dad is hesitant to let her go, but feels like the world is broad and needs to be explored so he lets his baby go
• he uses a lot of his savings to send her off and she hopes she doesnt disappoint him
   
• starts city life living with a weird roommate and finds part-time job at a grocery because it carried eliments of home
• makes a friend outside of home for the very first time - cute boy, very friendly and openly crushing on her
• withers her down to opening up with a long 4-year friendship of first drinks, clubs, karaoke and m-rated movies!! also just pacing it with sitting down for hours and reading next to each other
• gets her first kiss, bf and experience towards the end of her grad year .. ty city boy
• moves in with said city boy! happily  newlywed  roomies for two years
• ok but they break up and it's kind of sad
• awkwardly living with ex for a bit, still looking for a job but ing failing at all her interviews
• homesick af
• hearing her dad on the phone makes her want to cry
• decides maybe she can just go home for a bit... rub her face in the grass or smthing

• favourite foods are kongguksu (cold soy bean noodles), taro soup and soy sauce potatoes
• actually does not like seafood that much but will still eat it without complaint
• likes a bigger ratio of veg to meat. veggies are superior
• NOT A VEGETARIAN! IT'S PREFERENCE OKAY

• ex was a gamer so was kind of into games? however fps made her motion sick, so she liked learning to play things like tft and stardew valley
• studies plants yet allergic to super floral scents; will not stop sneezing if around strong perfumes or flagrant flowers

• not an otaku cuz she only watches really sad anime movies
• quietly in love with the guy that plays captain america. she can't remember his name for some reason
• maybe a masochist? will not admit that she kind of likes the feeling of crying
• worked diligently on studying eng. pretty decent at it. just never has any opportunities to use it
• swims well, so not prone to drowning
• has never changed any of her passwords. phone is super easy to break into lol
• would probably choose to be a gnome, druid or wood elf if ever in a DND campaign
• ok yes she wanted to be part of her highschool's DND club, don't tell anyone
• obviously was in the garden club in elemtary to highschool
• sometimes looks like she's gonna cry when she laughs cuz her brows furrow

  GIL UISEONG / 57 / FARMER / DAD  
  this is namu's favourite person. though she's terrible at returning her father's love and affection, it is undeniable that there is no room for replacement in her heart for the man that has raised her. uiseong is quite doting of his daughter - feeding her fruit that his wife says to keep for dinner, and lying to keep his little tree safe from a good scold. he's a friendly man, never prone to making enemies and quick to defuse any situation. though gentle, his vulnerbility has shed onto his daughter.. so now we have two people who get walked all over, except one just takes it with a chuckle and grin.
 

  HAN PILSUK / 53 / FARMER'S WIFE / MOM  
   complicated. her relationship with her husband and her daughter? complicated. i wouldn't say she's a terrible woman, but she's definitely not the sweetest person to be around. she can't explain why she is so stern with namu - maybe because she has higher expectations, or because her daughter is constantly shying away from her. or because her mother treated her the same way. there's nothing wrong with tough love, she thinks. it's just that her son holds no habit of crying, and that's a trait pilsuk has learned to favor.

 GIL GEURU / 17 / FARMER'S SON / BROTHER  
  he's not exactly a rotten little brother, but namu and geuru don't really talk that much. he feels like his dad is only nice to him because, well, he's his son? but he's not his daughter, you know?... his relationship with his sister is quaint; nothing more than quietly eating together or a quick stroll. there's not bad blood between the two, just very little knowledge about one another. though, sometimes geuru wishes his older sister wouldn't visit anymore. he just wants to spend time with his dad without going unnoticed.

  IM YUGYEONG / 22 / TEASHOP'S DAUGHTER    / NEIGHBOUR+FRIEND  
   their parents are friends, ergo they're sort of friends. over the years they've kind of bonded over the fact that they both can't carry conversations very well, and that they've got parental issues that they'd rather not discuss. namu remember's yugyeong fondly - the scent of the teashop and her mom's sweet voice with every "Goodmorning Uiseong's girl!", and how yugyeong and her just smile at each other instead of saying hello. there's a handful of times where they've hung out together, chilling in the grass and being bad at making grass whistles and heading up the shrine to ask for some good luck on exams. namu never grew up with a sister, but if had one, she thinks she'd take yugyeong for the pick.

 GI SEUNGHYUN / 24 / CONVENIENCE       STORE'S SON / CLASSMATE+FRIEND(?)  
  childhood friends since their parents knew each other well. seunghyun was probably one of the first kids she got associated with in simdong. visiting their store, exchanging their products - the egg sandwiches! from namu's perspective, she wouldn't say they're close. she's kind of afraid of him, from all the teasing that seunghyun gives her. but he was also one of the few people (if not the only person) she'd ever eat lunch with at school and walk with on the way home. they've even been at night school together a couple times too. seunghyun would probably say they're besties just to get a rise out of the poor girl. always holding things above her head and pinching her nose for some reason. he had her reactions memorised to a t. their classmates definitely knew they were close.. namu had no other friends, so what else would you say they are? though teasing, he was never truly mean. he would never force her to do anything she clearly didn't want to do. honestly, it was just hard for namu to admit she had a soft spot for the guy and didn't know how to show she appreciated him other than handing him a box of soy milk. and after losing contact with him after highschool, it became even harder to admit that.. maybe nam goong wasn't the first one.

 NAM GOONG / 28 / ??? / EX-BOYFRIEND  
  namu's dad keeps asking her about this city guy she's talked about.. and here he is. quite literally the man that has taken a bunch of her firsts in the last 6 years of them knowing each other. a chipper kind of guy who's all loud laughs and spontaneous adventures in the middle of the night. he reminded her of seunghyun. friends at uni for 4, roomies and lovers for 2. their life together was stable. not bad, but not good sometimes. towards the end, very much not good. maybe it was stress, or the fact that it's harder to love someone else when you don't love yourself, but the spark was gone. the goodnights were dull and the air just too thin. they break up on mutual terms; she didn't cry until after he left. they're figuring out if they should cut off all ties when she gets back. namu's leaning towards that they will.

 HODU [WALNUT] / DECEASED / PET CAT  
  her dad found him pissing in the garden for the 8th night in the row. thought that taking him in would keep him from being such a pest. instead, hodu became namu's love. holder of the deepest secrets, king of the best naps, and definitely a fan favourite at the fish market. but namu leaves him for a while when the gil's go up to visit family. mom says she told her so - if only hodu new better than to play stupidly around the road. dad says it isn't namu's fault; how could she have known. her brother, for some reason, hugged her for the first time. namu wishes she had stayed home just that once..
