Personality: Gayoung, somewhat has the typical “model” stereotype attitude. Besides from her experience to have modeled in the US for more than 5 years (referring to the trivia), she also often watch at least one American serial shows, causing her to imitate the western it-girl lifestyles, like having the pretty-much-cold personality, only befriend people who’s a “type” with her. (But she slowly opens up herself in the story later), or even keeping her straight face in her everyday life (except when she’s performing)..When she has a trouble with something, She is more than willing to be aggressive and speak her mind, unafraid of how others will take it. Family Background / History: Gayoung is the only daughter of the Moon family. Her father, Moon Junghyuk is a lawyer of a famous entrepreneur in South Korea. And her mom, Moon Sooyeon is a famous South Korean poet.At first, when Sooyeon hasn’t had Gayoung yet, they lived in Gwangju, from when they’re newly weds, until Sooyeon finally had birth. When Gayoung was still 2 days old, they moved to Seoul, because they thought Seoul is too crowded for them. Sooyeon and Junghyuk never had any other child, except for Gayoung (although they wanted it so badly). One day, when Gayoung was only 2 years old, Sooyeon was pregnant with her second child, and her first son. But 4 days before she gave birth, she and Junghyuk got into a terrible car accident, resulting in the loss of their stillborn. At that time, Gayoung hasn’t really learned anything about the accident, so sometimes, she still asks about him, which makes her mother depressed. At some point, Sooyeon was really depressed, until she tried to commit suicide. Luckily, the doctors were able to save her, but she ended up being paralyzed from waist down. Finally, after deciding Seoul had brought them too many bad memories, they moved back to Gwangju when Gayoung’s 8 years old.

Trainee Story: In 2007, when Gayoung was still in her modeling days, she went shopping with her friends, and they decided it’ll be fun for them to go to different directions. When she was walking around, she accidentally passed JYP’s US Office, and there were two agents in front of that building. When she was walking, they suddenly approached her, start asking her questions and told her they need a girl to star in one of JYP Artist’s MV. Because she has no modeling job at that time, she rightly accepted their offer. The next week, she flew to Korea to film the MV. After they finished filming, Park Jinyoung talked to her, and offered her to become a part of JYP. At first, she declined because she still have her job back in the US. After a long hour of negotiating, he finally decided that she can still become a trainee while modeling. Then she became a trainee for good 4 years. Sometime between 2009-2010, JYP actually offered her to become a part of Miss A, but she took down the offer, because she thinks she wasn’t ready to be one yet.
